The fact Seth is in a winder towing / Matts off road recovery t-shirt whist dragging you across the drive just finished it off for me!!
Watching a grandma cut rc tire foams in a fabric shop is hilarious to me, I can’t imagine how he explained to her what he needed 😂
The people working in those shops are epic. My prompt to make chainmaille armor came from a trip to Joanne Fabric.
You're going to keep making alterations until you've become fully stock again lol
RC and MTB!!! both my favourite hobbies! glad you caught up in the RC world!!! been introduced at an early age though crawlers might not be where i started. i had buggies and 4wd drifting!!! way to go kevin!!! keep being awesome!
Oh I’m gonna get him after I fix the tires I trashed lol. Round 3 new tires.
What’s so crazy is a decade ago I came to MTB from a serious RC racing addiction.. Nitro r/c.. I probably could of had a real race car for the cash I spent on those models.. now, here we are full circle!
Also spotted a Winder Towing shirt, more similarity as that’s a channel I also sub! Better luck next round Kev !
Soon we should see MORR pulling out BCPoV. I love it when my favorite genres collide.
Rc’s are just fun in general. No matter what you decide to do with them. Nice vid. 👏🏾
Just like the big ones it's all about 2 things, torque and traction. Since your tires squat so much offer to do this off road, you may have better traction. If torque is equal, then it's definitely the tires.
Power wise we are the same truck. I think I really messed up cutting my tires. Lessons will be taught. $200 mistake but again we got to learn.
I think you should put the stock tires in the rear and try again no other mods. The idea is they will be firm enough to press the vehicle weight to the ground mostly in the rear for more traction in those 2 tires
I been into rc things since I was 13. I have rc crawlers the og Tamiya bruiser and a clone. I have a gmade one and axial I even have my two rc I built back in 1987
Cool follow up and it was a closer battle than round 1. Curious still about battery pack age, etc. Cheers!
My batteries are way more used, my tires are cut , my foams are blown out. But, mine is set up for crawling. Hell i lowered mine.
Awesome video guys. I myself have the vitavon axles with the portals. You have the treal axles on the silver jeep. Maybe the green jeep should do vitavon (if he plans to upgrade) & then we could see how alike they are then. Leave his tires stock tho
This is AWESOME!! You’ll get him!!
Got any tips for me ? I think the tires are toast. To much air getting into the rear wheels
It’s funny how many folks think they know more than the manufacturer does on how to build a truck 😂
I have got lots of compliments on my builds and performance from the creator of the scx6. What some may not know is a truck built for tug of war is not a good Cralwer. Always open to a challenger if you ever come through Asheville. 1/6 or 1/10 I got money to bet.
Ref Oscar keeping a watchful for fair play.
Always. He wants to have his way with the rc cars. Fun fact about Oscar. He loves apples. I try to eat healthy and he always has some of my apple 🍎
I have been running rc crawlers for like 10 years and I use beadlock Wheels with no foam or a heavily trimmed foam. You can get a lot more traction at least on rocks or mud.
I could definitely be but looking at the video I think you could take him if you stiffened the rear shocks and move most of your wait to the front of your rig. Just my opinion.
Pulling from the bumper means suspension and bodies are a factor. Try pulling from the axles and low center of gravity might win over the other short comings.
Completely agree, this is were Seth has the edge. A lower point on his truck means more traction shifted to the front tires.
No. A higher attachment point gives better traction and lifts competition. When your cut tires drop axle that's when you lose traction. Let Seth attach lower to his axle.
There should be a dirt tow off I think on a level patch of trail. Be nice to know if custom knobs are better traction on dirt.
I’m sure somebody has already mentioned this but try using weights, like they do on shifter karts to stop them from flipping
I already put weigh him. I’m hoping it’s a rear foams issues but it might be the tire
Really glad i found your channel 😭
@@SteadySpin i somehow didn't know you have a channel for almost a year now. Found out by binge watching some of the singletrack sampler's vids lol
Tire conditioner. Someone mentioned WD40 but Simple Green is another option. Some do a combination of the two. It’s been a thing for 10+ years so you can find info online. Real trucks that pull fill their tires up with water so that might be a option as well.
PLEASE! if you can get dual stage foams please please try it! YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT! just make shure you pick your tires first so you know they will fit.
You are one dope seniorita
@@SteadySpin love it all, keep it comin😎 cant wait to see what 2022 has for you🙌🏻🙌🏻💪🏼
Not cutting tires and just seems Seth has a better build. Not FATALITY but still.....can't wait for ROUND 3
@@SteadySpin maybe take oscar on a "trip" and then you rematch....you win...then hey! Oscar comes back from his trip. Lol (it's a joke)
What happens if you soak them in dawn for a long time? I have been in RC and 1:1 my entire life. The pattern is one aspect of traction but the biggest is the compound and what it is doing way down where you can't see. The compound work hardens and it looks soft, sometimes even softer due to broken down foams, but it is very hard and doesn't grab the micro surface. Dawn will sort of re-hydrate, temporarily, the compound. Anyhow. I'll bet brand new tires with cut foams in the front only and torque adjusted sway bars is the best you'd get out of stock. Fun stuff.
Cutting the tires was a bad idea for tug of war. Off paved surfaces they did great. I have moved onto the swampers personally. Did you end up getting an SCX6?
@@SteadySpin Not yet! cen f450 lipo pulling my axial pro and others. Just completed an SCX24 monster truck tho! Cheers!
Love the competitive nature of it! Sadly part #1 felt a little bit more like Jurassic Park and Oscar attacking the Jeeps is like the f***ing T-Rex. I expected Oscar going full attack mode but he somehow kept his cool more 🤣🦖
Spare tire on the back gives more traction
Looking back some Steady Foams would have changed the game round 1. But it was fun.
You should have hooked up in the dirt ! Oscar doesn't like that silver truck , lol.
Why not put the original tires on the back instead of the front?
Probably a good idea. I wanted to keep it crawling set up as possible. New tires in the front next time.
Kevin, Let me send you and Seth some of my scale trailer hitches for those trucks!
@@Lucas.stalcup It is! That's the reward for the hard work required for creating good content that provides people with entertainment.
Just went to bed after a few froffs and seen this vid 🕺, you need to weigh your car down and get traction?
# lets go team spin
Yes. I got new tires coming. I have switched up a lot of things for better crawling. Can’t wait to get on the dirt and compare. I wonder how many tries it’s gonna take to beat him.
I know it sounds strange but I heard that if you spray WD40 on the rubber and let it dry, this will effectively change the durometer and soften the rubber. Also look at the trucks weight distribution, more weight forward could help. Maybe will help with traction. I just sub'd to see the outcome......
seth got lower towing point, i think that is the cause. looking at it as soon as both of you pulls your front tire lifts already.
Almost had him. Imo it would have been better to put the fresh tires on the back. The car squats so much that the front almost lifts of the ground and doesn't contribute as much to the pulling. The rear is firmly pressed to the ground and would have benefitted more from the better tires. You'll get him next time!
you need softer front tires, and put some weight on the front to get more friction
@@SteadySpin should have put the new tires on the rear and left cut ones on the front
I would try belted tires they are much better than stock.
@@SteadySpin you would have to check.More than likely a tire from another truck will fit. They make tires that fit different cars it's more the size of the tire. You could fit a tire that's a little larger. My x Maxx tires fit on the losing dbxl and the fit my losi gas truck. As long as the tire fits on the axel and it's not to large it will work. Plus your not racing the truck at top speeds.
You need to add some weight to the from to let your front wheels bit better.
Cut tires are only good for crawling I’d say. Looks like the rear is folding too much and the front isn’t folding enough. Looking forward to the next episode more rc stuff plzzz
Seth will win everytime as he has 1.5 pounds of waight on you cause he still has the roof on. You cut your off to expose cage and therefore you made your crawler lighter. You need more waight.
3.8 mud slinger 40. Beef it up
I think I have worn these down a lot. Maybe just new rear tires or maybe shift the fronts to the rear
Why not just swap tires and see what happens :)
@@SteadySpin i hear ya, im just curious to see if the tires make the difference. One has to think the weight would be the help, but doesn’t appear at to be. But if you guys swapped tires than you would at least know. Who knew this would be so entertaining
Can’t wait for round 3
Cutting the tires is removing grip never do it on those tires cause there good from factory removing more lugs from the tires less traction
@@SteadySpin yeah its ok im shure there will be upgrade tires soon by proline
It’ll be interesting to see what happens with all new tires! Of course, how they perform in a tow-off on pavement says nothing about how they’ll perform crawling offroad. Yours is probably better. In a paved tow-off having a really consistent contact patch and a VERY round foam is king. As soon as the tire folds you’re going to bounce around and lose traction. The fabric store foam is probably great for crawling, but the split in the middle of each one has got to cause some inconsistency, if even a tiny amount. But of course, supreme skill takes priority over all in straight line towing!
Can you explain what you said in the last tug-o-war video about connecting the servo directly to the battery? Are you talking about using a BEC? I’ve seen a guy do a split BEC where the steering signal stays plugged into the receiver and the power and ground from the servo go to the BEC (set to 7.4v) which is spliced into the battery leads. Is this the same as your set up?
Put the rear bumper back on Kevins. The bumper forcing the chain lower on Seth’s rig gives him enough of a traction advantage.
Do the tug of war in the dirt they are jeeps
@@marvinheadrick3511 yep
@@nick92786 I’d give it a look
