No way, I found this post on a forum... TRNRtipsNick Post#1 » Wed Feb 10, 2016 4:24 pm What's up guys? I'm Nick, a 17+ year Pokémon veteran who has been eagerly awaiting Pokémon GO's release since long before it was even conceived. Together with my good friend Juan, I'm starting a UA-cam channel dedicated to sharing our Pokémon GO adventure. As young professionals, we have the freedom and means to travel far and wide, and we plan on doing exactly that. I hope to cross paths with many of you on our adventures.
Your honestly one of the best and my favorite youtuber! You give such useful info about pokemon, an entertaining adventure of you catching pokemon, and probably my favorite part, your scenic edits! Keep Of The Good Work!
+THUNDERJOOP Never read about it, no one I know had known about it, I hadn't seen a video about it. I basically never had any knowledge of this tip, whoops.
+Muzzy 02 (UNTITLEDWARRIOR) I can tell already, after some digging around, i've found a ton of reliable & well thought out videos & guides about Pokemon rather than someone making a video that's like a clickbait video.
Hey Nick, it's another Nick and let me say that I love your content. It's so unique because it's similar to vlogging and a let's plays. Each episode you update us on current trends in Pokemon Go and add a few tips and tricks. Your camerawork never fails to impress with your creative transitions. From watching your videos I can tell you played previous Pokemon games before Pokemon Go. Could you elaborate on your history with Pokemon? Thanks, just wanted to point out how genuine and interesting your channel is to me.
I love how you chose not to edit out being distracted by your phone at the end of the video. It humanizes you, instead of a teacher, makes you more of a fellow player. We stare at our phones a lot thinking what do we want to do with this game and just those few seconds of seeing something catch your attention and making you pause and think about it was amazing to see.
The tracking was the most fun i've had in a game for a long time I got out of bed at 4am drove to another apartment complex to catch an Abra, the funny thing is there was other ppl running around too. I sold my PS4 because i stopped playing it due to GO but now i just play hearthstone lol.
Wow I'm watching this 7 years ago to the date from when you recorded this. Time flies. Love watching your older videos. Such a simpler time and reminds me of where I was in my life during that time.
That first 7 seconds of that "swipe tip" is why you have earned the name "Trainer Tips Nick", if I wasn't already, I would of clicked that subscribe button right after that!
California's gotta be one of the best places in the world to catch Pokemon... More places with high cellular activity plus better mapped nests and just more big cities in general... *sigh* There's literally one good spot in Grand Rapids to get (mainly water) Pokemon
Great video, love your stuff, the analysis is on point. TL:DR - rename the pokemon something like 77 90 7 to indicate avg max and # of IV sets. Helps to determine what to evo and turns evo into a data point to help identify the actual IVs - avg max and # of IV sets should change after evo. Tip in case remembering IVs becomes an issue (i.e. I am trying to save up 50+ evos each lucky egg), trying renaming your pokemon with their IV (possibilities). For instance, if you know the pokemon is 89.9% of max IVs, I just rename them 89.9. Often there are multiple possibilities, so I rename them something like 89 90 3 which means average 89% IVs with 90% being the maximum possible IV set and 3 being the number of different possibilities to give me a general sense for the variation I am expecting. I find this especially helpful when you want to re-check the IVs of pokemon after evolution because (I think) the range of IVs can shift after an evolution as specific IVs will manifest themselves differently with different base stats (from unevolved to evolved forms).
Hey, The squirtle you mentioned had Maximum : 80.0% Average : 59.5% Minimum : 42.2% So how did you conclude it would be arnd 80% IV? it could be a lot worse than what you think. Would you please explain your thought behind this one?
But I don't think that people that have never played the actual Pokémon games to freak out when their Pokémon are asleep. (I did when I was younger XD)
Maybe do it a bit differently, frozen will make the orher pokemon slower at attacking, fire is a little bit of dmg avery second and poison is a bit of both but weaker, give the poison types some love ❤️
Its rustling grasses by the way but from what I have noticed and my experiences if you wait for 5 mins or less near the patches a pokemon will spawn there most of the time.
I'm not sure if it has been commented on before (and honestly i'm too lazy to find out) but I love the transitions and overall feel of your videos. Keep it up!
Hey Nick and Juan, love your videos guys. You guys are super intelligent and you present the detailed confusing things very clearly and understandably.
Hi, Nick! The Pokemon Go App has just been updated. Here in Europe it's morning already, so I had an hour to fiddle around with the new version 0.33.0 Here's what's new: 1. They have fixed the bonuses for throws. Now they are as follows: - Excellent +100 XP - Great +50 XP - Nice +10 XP - Curveball +10 XP (it only combines bonuses with a Nice throw) - Bonus + 100 XP - I didn't get that one. It happened to me twice. It is just called Bonus without being specific. I guess it has something to do with a couple of one-ball-catches in a row. 2. New changes to the Pokemon Tracker - now the title says Sightings, instead of Nearby. The order of appearance has been fixed and it corresponds to the vicinity of the respective pokemon. Niantic have added some leaves of grass behind every pokemon now within the range of the tracker but I don't see any function to it so far. The good news is that the tracker now works almost flawless, in spite of not giving any clues about directions. It updates almost instantly and I have actually caught 90% of the Pokemon that appeared first in the list this morning. So, this is all for now, hope it will be useful.
Music Chaos Among other things it gave out the exact IVs for all your pokemon in a really clean interface. It was very useful and far less of a headache than the other methods currently available
I've used that and currently use an overlay app for it, it's just a lot pointless busy work is all. I miss having everything streamlined and readily available. We was spoiled
love your videos man, very professional, amazing quality, well thought out and very informative. your my #1 go to source for all my pokemon go info. Please keep it up,
2:34 The only pokemon i see from this list are Spearows, sometimes Nidorans. I have catched 1 Rhyhorn and Machop, and saw Staryu on Radar once. Fck people who live in America xD
Well the cities get those. I live in a rural part of Pennsylvania, US, so my options are as slim as yours. On occasions, I'll get things like Gastly and Seel I also see Bulbasaur and Charmander show up on my "Nearby Pokémon" on rare occasions, but I've yet to encounter them.
Eryk22255 Yea I hear you, they're pretty rare here too. My area just mainly gets : Caterpie, Weedle (this one I've caught enough of to make a god-like Beedrill haha), Pidgey, Rattata, Spearow, and the Nidorans (both genders). On occasions, I'll find Zubats, Parases, and Clefairies, but not as commonly as the previous ones that I mentioned.
@@juangal7569 if you're in excel, select/highlight your data table, and use the data ribbon at the top of excel then add filter. I think it should be obvious from there. Just Google filtering in excel if you need more help
This channel reminds me of vice. the editing is top notch, and seemingly boring subject matter to a non pokemon player becomes intresting through well done cinematography. Outside of the pokemon info, which are mostly top teir by themselves, these are VERY well done videos. 5/5 would watch again.
One town not far from home has a population on 3300 - farm country. There are 8 churches, but only 3/4 of them are marked by Poke-anything. The whole town has about 8 Stops and 2 gyms. This weekend I visited Frankenmuth, Michigan - a Christmas/German tourist destination. I felt as if I had gone to Poke-Heaven. There were about 12 Stops just on the main road alone. I was able to sit in the middle of 3 Stops, and just load my bag! It was a great change. If I could change the Google Key Words, I would start putting "stone" and "fire" around my house! ha ha Keep up the good work.
I have tried an app that overlays pokemon go and is pretty helpful in calculating IV's easily. It's not 100%, because it doesn't get your exact pokemon info from the game, but gives a narrow range or, if your pokemon are leveled enough, gives an exact iv. IV calculator for Pokémon GO is the app name in the play store if you'd like to try it out, not my app, just stumbled across it while trying to make up for pokeadvisor. Also, off topic, it would be neat if Niantic would implement "gear unlocks" with different medal levels reached to provide for more character customization. Good videos, keep 'em coming!
Hey dude, love your vids. I've been watching every single day since the game came out. Would love to hear your position on spoofers/botters and whether or not they have a long term negative impact on the game's life. Some people seem to think it doesn't matter as long as you play how you like. Don't need an entire video, but even a minute or two segment would be cool.
I've noticed since the update (not the newest, but the "remove-3step-and-ban-pokevision"-update, that the area where I live seems to be "nesting" all kinds of Pokémons, but only for a few hours or 1 day at most. A few examples: yesterday - Pikachu-nest (yes! for real! Caught 2, saw 3 others on nearby), a few nights ago I was out walking in circles in the area and caught 7 Eevees in 1.5 hour, the day before I caught 4 Meowths and saw several more on nearby. Today we are celebrating "Horsea-day", apparently :-) It should be mentioned also That this is a very small area I'm talking about (like 400 x 400 meters maximum) and rural-ish. The name of the area ends with "-mountain", but rocktyp-Pokémons are extremely rare (on the other hand; the name is in Swedish ofcourse, since I live in Sweden, so maybe it doesn't count … ).
That's lucky and weird at the same time...I don't live in a rural are but I have no damn pokestops or gyms near my house anywhere. The closest pokestop is like 1km away same ass the gym. I really want some Eevees so I actually envy you ;P
Hey, you know you can start your curve, then stop, and let the curve speed die out... then just draw a straight line throw diagonally - And you will throw a ball with slightly less curve. Basically, you can control the velocity and spin on your curve ball - Just load it up, pause for a sec, and then throw it (as if ur throwing a straight shot, but maybe throw it out to the right depending on how much curve you have going)
it's an insolence how many evolved wild pokemon are spawning near you, here where I live there's maybe 1 an hour around the whole city, and it's the biggest city around!
fighting types use primary keywords: stadium, arena, gym, coliseum, and 3 others that I don't remember at this point. Also they use numerous secondary keywords. BTW, api is easily reverse compiled. G2G said 2 much already. oh well it was worth it. Love your videos. not many of us who love this game for the reasons that we do. love digging into the numbers and finding the hidden advantages.
I wanted to let you know about a theory I have related to Ditto. So it is known that when you go to ten poke stops within a short period of time the tenth stop is double xp and 6 items. My theory is that you have to visit X number of pokestops without catching a pokemon and doing so will unlock the pester egg to be able to be collected from pokestops. My reasoning is this: 1) niantic is trying to encourage people to go to pokestos. 2) When asked about how to catch a ditto there answer was: "Keep spinning" 3) we know that there are rewards for spinning consecutively. 4) this is not something that can be randomly achieved but would have to go out set to do it therefore it has not been seen. I am going to test this theory tonight, besides I need pokeballs. If I see that there are better rewards at twenty pokestops then I will have more evidence of a greater end reward at some point. What are your thoughts?
Thanks to your explanation about IV's I just evolved a 91% perfect magikarp into S gyarados. Found another 93,8% magikarp for which I collected half the candies yet. Keep up making good videos like this :)
Great video as always. I always look forward to watching these videos. One question, which IV percentage would I use when using that website, MAX,AVERAGE or MIN. Thanks in advance if you respond or anyone else that responds with helpful information. Have a great day!
+Trainer Tips I think there might be another mechanic, occasionally Pokemon I have caught disappear completely without transferring them, someone else I know has encountered this. This could easily just be a glitch that has gone unnoticed but it is a interesting thing to look into...
I've noticed a ton of Go youtubers are located here in SoCal, specifically LA County. :) We're spoiled rotten out here when it come to the game. It's been proven we have the most rare Pokemon spawning in the wild than any other state/county. I've only been playing for 5 days and I've already caught 4 Scythers, Jolteon, Alakazam, and Hitmonchan, just to name a few of the rares. I've yet to encounter Dragonite and Charizard on my radar, though. I'm already at level 14 and coming up fast. ^_^ That's cool you ventured to Pasadena. There are a ton of lures near the hastings ranch area. Oh, you should probably visit the Arboretum in Arcadia. TONS of stops! ;)
Tip: If you wanted to zoom in and out, without pinching. You can double tap but on the 2nd tap hold it down, drag up or down and there you go. Zooming with one hand :)
Dunno if you'll find this relevant, but there's a pokestop where I work titled "Scuba Windows", and today a lure module was placed there, and in about 15 mins, I caught 4 Psyduck, 3 Magikarp, and a tentacool. Again, not sure if relevant, but maybe.
Hey man your videos are awesome and its so great cause i was one of the first playing Pokemon go in my town so i had lots of people come ask me questions and when i didn't know the answer your videos were a great place to point them towards thanks 👍🏼
Been loving the videos. There is truckstop here in Fargo no where near any water but the restaurant is called Marlins and the place spawns water Pokemon like crazy. There is also a car wash which may also be it - either way goes with the theory! I have an idea for a video - I'm always wondering what Pokemon would be the best against each specific Pokemon in a gym battle on Pokemon Go. For instance, if Snorlax was in a gym, what Pokemon, taking in account the fighting stats of each Pokemon and their weaknesses, ect., would ideally be put against it? I know other factors are in play but it would be nice to know what the ideal Pokemon would be to take down each individual Pokemon, or at least the ones that tend to end up in gyms, which around here are the Evee evolutions, Snorlax, Exeggutor, Arcanine, Lapras, Gyarados, and Dragonite
+Trainer Tips i found another shortcut that if your playing with one hand you can tap anywhere on the screen and then that blue circle counts as another finger so you can zoom in and out until the circle disappears... Idk if you knew just wanted to point that out
since you leave around the LA area, check out alondra park in gardena/torrance before the update it was a charmander nest, but after the update its still a charmander nest, ive caught at least 7-8 charmanders just walking 1 lap around the pond, but guaranteed if you stay longer probably get 10+, and if you're lucky some randoms show up (ive gotten hitmonchan, jolteon, & a few magikarps) at rare times sooo worth a try
Trainer Tips, you need to come to Frisco for a couple days. During the days Pokevision it had the largest spawn rate in California. It's hard to even leave a street there yet alone well known piers loaded with rare grass and water Pokemon. Place is ridiculous and jam packed with nest.
pokeassistant IV calculator.sometime gives different result than the silph road IV rater. The later one says: "the stamina IV can be determined, and the combined attack+defense can be determined" and gives one set of IV's while poke assistant gives an interval and multiple sets of IV's.
ALSO... Legit watched this yesterday and talked a friend into going to the Rose Bowl with me last night. Looks like you had more spawns during the day than we did at night, but we got like 3 Clefairy's, 4 Machop's, a few Shellders (not as many as you), tons of Krabby's, and then a few Growlithe's, Eevee's and Abra's. I got a 1165 Pinsir also which was nuts, and a 524 Goldeen. Oh and a 512 Bellsprout.
TEAM INSTINCT WHERE YOU AT ?! LETS GO WIN THOSE GYMS !

Update?
@diego, among minor things, they are working on the nearby Pokemon list; but it seems it's only be active for a subset of players for now.
This video came out like an hour before the update so it will be on todays episode
Little tip: If you want to zoom in on the map with only one finger, double-tap and drag your finger up or down
I'll give it a shot
Its that same as goggle maps

Dude, dislikes are only 2% of the evaluations of this video... It's pretty decent!
Trainer Tips is the highest quality channel on UA-cam, the editing is beyond anything else I have seen, and the content is extremely pleasing.
Love the work and research you put into your vids Nick, also great cinematography and editing.
Easily the best Pokemon go channel atm.

This was a great channel but i don't play anymore
why?
me too, sadly niantic doesn't know how to run a game..
+TehMarioo they took it away to fix it
They are improving it.

Anyone else have the glitch were the Pokemon are all invisible and it wont let you catch them?
yup
Update your app. Happens if your a version behind.
mine where invisible but I was able to catch them I just focused on the color ring.
+Krakken Smacken Thanks it work. it wasnt even letting me click on them before
does the glitch allow you to see all Pokemon near you. if then that's perfect. see every Pokemon and have a second device that allows you to catch it.
I always love the intro.
Me too
My friend gets tons of Pokeballs by using *COINERATOR. COM*

oh yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do you think they should add effects such as poison, burned, frozen, etc.?
I dont think so
Only if they go back to the other battlesystem

Hey Nick! What phone case are you using for your Nexus 5X? Would love to know. Love your content, keep up the good work!
All your scene transitions are slick m8..Love it :)
what are the flying grasses??
Yeh does it mean Pokemon are around?
It means there are nearby Pokemon around that grass
+Rachael Hare Not necesarily, but those indicate pokemon spawn points
+Tai Lopez it dosent mean pokemon are near it
Possible spawn zones for Pokemon. At least, as far as I knew lol, they might have thrown that into some crazy new form in a newer update.
They've shut Poke-advisor down :-(
who cares ?
ikr, smh :( hope niantic will incorporate something like that in the game
It made the game more fun for me and pesonally, I think you cant call it cheating but whatever, its down now ;/
+xSukon they are creating some kind of tracking system
they haven't put poke finder down ☺
What does it mean when there's grass flying on the map?
Its rustling grasses by the way but from what I have noticed and my experiences if you wait for 5 mins or less near the patches a pokemon will spawn there most of the time.
Pokémon are more likely to spawn there.
I'm not sure if it has been commented on before (and honestly i'm too lazy to find out) but I love the transitions and overall feel of your videos. Keep it up!
Hey Nick and Juan, love your videos guys. You guys are super intelligent and you present the detailed confusing things very clearly and understandably.
how do i filter the Pokemon on the spreed sheet?? help?
having same issue. when i filter using names like he says in the video nothing changes
+Jade T that's now how u filter by name that's not what were talking about but I figured it out
I'm having the same issue. The spreadsheet doesn't let me filter. I also don't even know how to get that option using Safari so I'm screwed

I miss Poke Advisor so much D':
What does it do
Music Chaos
Among other things it gave out the exact IVs for all your pokemon in a really clean interface. It was very useful and far less of a headache than the other methods currently available
+Zero-G Gaming why can't u just use the silph roads IV calc?
I've used that and currently use an overlay app for it, it's just a lot pointless busy work is all. I miss having everything streamlined and readily available. We was spoiled
ikr pokeadvisor was THE ONE.
does that flying grass mean anything???
Spawn points for Pokemon
Not yet confirmed what they are. People say they are spawn points but no conclusive evidence yet.
seems to indicate high activity so more potential pokemon spawns
It represents tall grass
+Brett Bosserman you're the most wrong of all
SOMEONE HELP ME, IM LOSING INTEREST IN POKEMON GO ?!?!

love your videos man, very professional, amazing quality, well thought out and very informative. your my #1 go to source for all my pokemon go info.
Please keep it up,
This channel is the best Pokémon channel by such a large margin. Other channels should learn from trainer tips
2:34 The only pokemon i see from this list are Spearows, sometimes Nidorans. I have catched 1 Rhyhorn and Machop, and saw Staryu on Radar once. Fck people who live in America xD
Thats a good one :D i myself live on a Farm in southwestern Germay we got Internet some weeks ago :D
Rip in pepperoni
Well the cities get those. I live in a rural part of Pennsylvania, US, so my options are as slim as yours. On occasions, I'll get things like Gastly and Seel I also see Bulbasaur and Charmander show up on my "Nearby Pokémon" on rare occasions, but I've yet to encounter them.
+LatinGuido817 I live in a 100k City and if i get gastly / krabby its a good catch XD
How do you tubers get so many incubators? I get none from POKESTOPS and not really trying to spend money .
you're outta luck then lol
LOL! You can't get incubators from pokestops... He bought them
+xXSerpentXx yes you can it's rare tho
you also get more incubators as you level up. im lvl 15 and have 3. i presume ill get more as i go.
Its simple.$$$$$$$
My comment will get lost
NOOOOOOO
rip
I think you lost this. I found it for you.
Who?
Lost but not forgotten
okay, probably forgotten too
So glad you found the filters. Being the excel wizard in my work place, watching you use ctrl+F was heart wrenching
How do you sue filter so that it only shows a specific Pokemon and their moves?
@@juangal7569 if you're in excel, select/highlight your data table, and use the data ribbon at the top of excel then add filter. I think it should be obvious from there. Just Google filtering in excel if you need more help
anyone else think this channel has the best intro? so relaxing. and it gets me in the mood to walk or something.
nice clickbait title. A coincidence? I don't think so
Great bait m8
Its not clickbait... Its a question that he answered in the video or was trying to because of the guy in reddit
Who's still watching in 2017?
DelzMadness I am
I'm watching in 2018!
you record like it's an art project for college, chill it's a Pokemon game
just let him be passionate about it...he does a good job!👍
I like it actually. Has a sense of professional touch.
I rather watch this high quality video than some guy sitting in his car recording from a potato. (no offence to those guys)
☝💀💀💀"recording from a potato" lmao
Foally do you just like being a piece of shit? Honestly do you enjoy being disliked?
After several episodes focused on math and stats, etc., this was a fun one to watch! (Not hating on the math and stats, etc.--both are great.)
"Today, I just want to catch some Pokemon." - My favourite sentence 0:32
Hey dude, love your vids. I've been watching every single day since the game came out. Would love to hear your position on spoofers/botters and whether or not they have a long term negative impact on the game's life. Some people seem to think it doesn't matter as long as you play how you like. Don't need an entire video, but even a minute or two segment would be cool.
Learning a lot about Pokemon go from this dude
Keep up the non click bait quality videos
See, your videos are good because you give ACTUAL tips; unlike other click-baiters
Keep it up man
This is team instinct for you. Always out there testing ideas and theories, exploring the environment, really hands on.
Just wondering...What main cameras do you use for your vids?? Very well done vids and edits!! 😊
Your a very talented editor, I love your camera angles, you would make a great director.
it's an insolence how many evolved wild pokemon are spawning near you, here where I live there's maybe 1 an hour around the whole city, and it's the biggest city around!
U r the only reliable pokemon go channel....others are just wannabes going with the flow to get views.
"Ooh, Eevee. Definitely wanna catch that" rip
since you're in the LA area, if you come to Gardena, Alondra Park is a charmander nest located by El Camino College and a skatepark.
fighting types use primary keywords: stadium, arena, gym, coliseum, and 3 others that I don't remember at this point.
Also they use numerous secondary keywords.
BTW, api is easily reverse compiled. G2G said 2 much already.
oh well it was worth it. Love your videos. not many of us who love this game for the reasons that we do. love digging into the numbers and finding the hidden advantages.
These videos are peaceful and calming for some weird reason
Thanks to your explanation
about IV's I just evolved a 91% perfect magikarp into S gyarados. Found another 93,8% magikarp for which I collected half the candies yet. Keep up making good videos like this :)
hopped onto the ghost train which was a pokestop at Alton Towers in UK and caught a Gengar lol (1367 cp, iv 85)
That's cool you ventured to Pasadena.
Bruh your transitions are amazing
Dunno if you'll find this relevant, but there's a pokestop where I work titled "Scuba Windows", and today a lure module was placed there, and in about 15 mins, I caught 4 Psyduck, 3 Magikarp, and a tentacool. Again, not sure if relevant, but maybe.
My favorite channel right now
Hey man your videos are awesome and its so great cause i was one of the first playing Pokemon go in my town so i had lots of people come ask me questions and when i didn't know the answer your videos were a great place to point them towards thanks 👍🏼
Idk if you knew just wanted to point that out
Your videos are really helpful! Thank you! And Nice shirt! Where did you get it?
btw i really enjoy your videos keep it up!:D
Please make a video on the new update im confused
since you leave around the LA area, check out alondra park in gardena/torrance before the update it was a charmander nest, but after the update its still a charmander nest, ive caught at least 7-8 charmanders just walking 1 lap around the pond, but guaranteed if you stay longer probably get 10+, and if you're lucky some randoms show up (ive gotten hitmonchan, jolteon, & a few magikarps) at rare times sooo worth a try
live* and #TeamInstinct
Transition at 2:00 was kinda genius... Just sayin. I like your Pokemon vids
hey Nice video man! keep up the good work
Trainer Tips, you need to come to Frisco for a couple days.
Where is team Mystic? Let's get those gyms, guys!!
