Thought this was gonna be Renner every week, sad it’s not, miss the dynamic between the two of you. The good ole days of PFF were prime football content, always entertaining. Still excited to tune in weekly, thank you for the content, makes slow days worth it!
When people mention off field issues in regards to Shedeur, what do they mean? What has he done that’s so bad? Flash his watch? Tell the truth about how teams view playing Colorado? Be confident? This is a joke.
nah, he’s being seen by a bunch of scouts as a Herbert. problem is he’s still raw. will need to sit the first year if drafted. Cam Ward and Ewers can probably play right away.
The funniest thing is that I said Carson Beck was overrated online before the year started and everyone's finally seeing it I'm thinking about starting my own channel because I've been right on these quarterbacks way too much throughout my life. It's really not hard to predict who has a chance to be great. Now obviously once you get to the NFL level you need to be in the right situation to really have a chance. I mean look at Tom Brady put him on the cleave them browns and he never becomes anything in my opinion So situation is huge once you get to the league. But there's also just basic traits that these guys don't look for that I do First you need leadership qualities and swagger that's number one because without that no one's going to play for you and play hard for you or believe that you're the guy. Number two you need a quick release and a accurate throwing motion. Without this, you can't get the ball out consistently Number three you need great footwork so you can mow move around the pocket and your feet and your throwing motion need to be tied together. So if you don't have really good feet and throwing mechanics combined, you're really not going to be a good player And probably finally is that you need to have some height weight measurables to go with all of that. You need to have something about you that is going to allow you to play at the next level so you need to be over 6'1 more often than not. You need to have good mobility more often than not. You need to have good arm strength more often than not. So if you can tick all of these boxes. Then it's just a matter of what situation you land in and obviously your work ethic But far too often people draft players that don't have these qualities coming out of the draft and it just always fails every single time
Not sure how Milroe isn’t a slam dunk 1st round talent. He’s basically Anthony Richardson with legit college production. He’s an amazing runner with no durability concerns and has a big arm. The underneath stuff has improved this year as well. If Richardson went 4th, Milroe should be in that range as well
Milroe is Anthony Richardson with better production and more experience, but also similar to Jayden Daniels with 20 more pounds of body armor @DurstNFLDraft
The fact he has Drew Allar over Milroe is wild have watched Allar play in person he is not good he can’t read a defense to save his life that offense and Allar will get exposed by any solid defense
I can't agree with Jalen Milroe being that low. If you're worried about his performance last year, why doesn't the same apply to Allar? He was unplayable for Penn State last year
Allar is better than he was last year. His stats were solid, but now he's (so far) doing better. He's completing far more of his passes. I still don't think there's a QB worth taking in the top half of the first round this year at all though.
By week 3 of the 2022 regular season, Renner was the 1st Draft guy to point out Devon Witherspoon, and I was right there with him telling my fellow Washington fans "This is the guy" when he was still listed as a 3rd round guy. Tommi Hill from Nebraska is this year's Witherspoon for me if he can get back from this injury. I prefer Iowa State's Jayden Higgins later to Tre Harris. He's my "Jayden Daniels is too good for us to get Tetairoa McMillan Consolation prize" and massively underrated. I like Martin's Teammates better, Colin Oliver is a guy I been touting since last year that's jumped from the 400s to 170s on consensus and he's at worst gonna be Ivan Pace with better measurables and some coverage abilities and Kendal Daniels as Kyle Dugger/Jeremy Chinn potential at the next level.
I think Garrett Nussmeier is what Carson Strong was supposed to be without the knee injuries. Hope Nussmeier comes back to school so he can work towards the 1st round next year
Geno Smith senior year is better than anything Shedeur has done in college. Shows that it's a big transition from college to NFL and being drafted to a poor organization matters. Geno's 45-51 656 yards and 8 tds is still probably the greatest game in college qb history. It's not a bad comparison.
it's different now though because bradford was a pocket passer. he would likely be a 2nd round pick or later in today's nfl. teams value athleticism to extend plays when plays break down more than ever.
Geno has better physical tools than Sanders. Hes physically almost exactly like Teddy B to me. Also don’t know how Milroe doesn’t make the top 5, I’d take him over Allar in a heartbeat
Mark my words, Shadeur Sanders will fail as an NFL QB. Things are a whole lot different when a head coach isn't handing over the position to you and you have to earn it, no daddy to hold his hand
i can't support how you guys evaluate QB's. It is like we are stuck looking at "image" of a QB and narratives. I can't watch the film and say Drew Aller is even in the top 7 QB's in this draft. I said Long ago Carson Beck is what many of yall claimed C J Stroud was.. a QB with tons of talent around him.. no pressure in the pocket in 9 of 10 games... NO defenders capable of matching up with the skill position players he has at his disposal 9 out of 10 games.. and when he does face a team that matches up physically with his team he is underwhelming. ... ON film he isn't a guy who i see able to deal with NFL pockets and pressure and tight windows when the dial is turned up. He isn't that guy Quinn Ewers is literally in the same boat.. only he is 6'2" 205lbs. He isn't even a first round pick. Comparing Sheduer Sanders to Geno Smith is very telling. I said long ago Geno Smith should have been selected higher and if he went to a Team that believed in him his entire career would have been different.. But to compare those two so lazy. If i comp'd Sheduer Sanders it would be Tony Romo. .. similar physical tools.. can make big boy throws even without having elite physical traits.. highly dependent on nuance traits.. pocket movement.. giving pass catchers a chance... not giving up on a play.. ability to impose their will on the game. Geno Smith and Sheduer Sanders similarities end at height weight and being black. Cam Ward scares me but at the sametime he is so confident i do not doubt him. .. Cam Ward and Sheduer Sanders walk into a NFL locker room and will rally a NFL locker room. Most of the people in a NFL looker room will relate to and follow. Jalen Milroe is a guy that it is all about > coach > scheme > and the team believing in him. If a team buys all the way into him and goes all in. He is the top pick in the draft (kinda like how Harbaugh bought into Lamar Jackson) ... QB run game that makes them more viable in bad weather games... the impact of how his speed impacts the Run game and all their misdirection. .... the deep ball too those pass catchers. For me it is 1 Cam ward 2 Sheduer Sanders 3 Jalen Milroe
Yeah Allar is pure projection. I mean I have Dart over him right now. Also I hate the Josh Allen comps since Allar has almost no ability to effectively scramble
I've been spamming in the whole former PFF crew and Trevor's NFLSE comments section since the end of last year that Cam Ward, Drew Allar and Jalen Milroe would be the top QBs by draft next year, not to mention countering every "Drake Maye = Justin Herbert 2.0" comp with a "NAH more like a more mobile USC Sam Darnold 2.0, but Penn States guy coming out next year might be Herbert 2.0" I'm glad everyone is catching up

PFF nostalgia!! Love having you guys back together
No agendas, just football

Man seeing some of the boys back together and Mike talking draft warms my heart. What a great idea
Awesome. Keep this draft special going.
Nobody better than Renner!
Cam is my favorite as well!
When people mention off field issues in regards to Shedeur, what do they mean? What has he done that’s so bad? Flash his watch? Tell the truth about how teams view playing Colorado? Be confident? This is a joke.
We love Mike Renner
I remember when Mike used to replace Sam during the offseason/draft season. Renner has been my draft bible, ever since then
LFG! Renner babyyyyy.
Drew Allar is this years Tanner McKee for Mike
It’s his annual tall white qb that he falls in love with
nah, he’s being seen by a bunch of scouts as a Herbert. problem is he’s still raw. will need to sit the first year if drafted.
Cam Ward and Ewers can probably play right away.

Agree. While Richardson is an even better tools guy Milroe has way more actuall tape/production.

Richardson is struggling and milroe will struggle you have to have both not just one
The fact he has Drew Allar over Milroe is wild have watched Allar play in person he is not good he can’t read a defense to save his life that offense and Allar will get exposed by any solid defense
Milroe is literally what Jalen hurts was coming out of college he will succeed in the nfl if given the time to develop
Let’s go I like Mike but taking time for his podcast is a bit tough nice to see him here also
I can't agree with Jalen Milroe being that low. If you're worried about his performance last year, why doesn't the same apply to Allar? He was unplayable for Penn State last year
allar was unplayable last year? didn't know 25 touchdowns 2 turnovers was unplayable

Renner Gayle Munson palazolo og pff goats 🐐
great ep bring Sam on tho
Renners got an eye for scouting and the dude has the receipts
I think Garrett Nussmeier is what Carson Strong was supposed to be without the knee injuries. Hope Nussmeier comes back to school so he can work towards the 1st round next year
you don’t have alex orji in your top 5? wtf
Im surprised they don't have Van Dyke too 🤦♂️
He's just not an Orji guy
Who?
I legit can't tell if this is a troll comment
qb1 is Mahomes…😂
Let’s go Mike! Let’s go Cam!
Brady Cook. Biggest QB sleeper.
GENO SMITH COMP IS CRAZY 🤦🏾♂️
Geno Smith senior year is better than anything Shedeur has done in college. Shows that it's a big transition from college to NFL and being drafted to a poor organization matters. Geno's 45-51 656 yards and 8 tds is still probably the greatest game in college qb history. It's not a bad comparison.
Ewers is a 4th rd pick at best. He is not very good at all
Who do you think is the top QB in the 2025 NFL Draft?
Renner!
Jeanty is Alvin Kamara with Mark Ingram’s body
Spotify not getting this?
Geno Smith 🤣🤣🤣
Am I the only one that doesn’t see the lack of arm talent from Nussmeier? Guy can sling it
You’re comparing Sam Bradford to the #5 QB prospect in a weak QB class!? I don’t think you watched Bradford. He had a great arm but a glass knee. 😢
it's different now though because bradford was a pocket passer. he would likely be a 2nd round pick or later in today's nfl. teams value athleticism to extend plays when plays break down more than ever.
Geno comp isn't bad but I don't Sanders is quite th athlete he is but might be a better thrower
WHERE TF IS DIEGO PAVIA??
emphasis on "special" guest. Got'em
Kyle Mccord
No Conner Weigman love(
All the Covid players are out of college no 5 year players
Could not draft the Bama QB, unless he wants to flex as to primary as a WR or RB.
Yea they said the same about Lamar Jackson 😂
Geno has better physical tools than Sanders. Hes physically almost exactly like Teddy B to me. Also don’t know how Milroe doesn’t make the top 5, I’d take him over Allar in a heartbeat
Lol you’re braindead
Allar reminds me of Blake Bortles.
would Arch Manning be first in this class?
Yes
Milroe
Sanders
Beck
Ewers
Allar
