Happy Diwali back from Germany. Thank you for this very interesting clip concerning the Indian calendar tradition and the consumerism worldwide. We need a new chapter of religion and philosophy in a post-socialist post genocide world.
I totally agree with you mam, from the last 3 years I haven't brought any new clothes just because my present clothes are in good condition, and i invested that money in to a startup and we are pushing ourselves into employment creation!
Conincidence. I was discussing the other day with my family about having too many things in the house. It's almost a crippling experience. But my mother is the head of our house and she has a phobia of letting go of old stuff, even 20 year old plastic plates that are disfigured.
I use these rules for cloths: 12 shirts, 7 for normal day use, 5 in spare for trips and such. 7 pairs of pants. 4 for normal day use. And 3 in spare for extra rainy weeks. While shoes are more difficult. If you use dress shoes, you need at least 2 pairs. Because they need to breath at least 1, after being worn, or they risk breaking early. So I have at the moment 3 pairs. To me that is too few, but I threw out some shoes recently, and I am looking for new pairs. 1 pair of dress shoes, 1 pair of running shoes, and 1 pair of winter shoes. In terms of socks and underwear, I have for 2 weeks of each. And replace them around every 3-4 year. Because you never wear more than 5-7 favourite shirts, anything above that, will not be used often. With pants you might have 3-5 favourite pairs, again, anything above not being worn often. Shoes, 3 pairs is what normal people use. And then special shoes on the side, winter shoes, summer shoes, dress shoes, and so on. I always donate my old cloth, and by limiting amounts of cloth, I increase the quality of my cloth, I try to stay away from cheap Chinese made cloth. And that is difficult.
I was once returning from office on 31st of December night I could see most of the pubs and bars queued with people eager to find entry and buy drinks and also long queue in front of bakery to buy cakes. As my cab moved on, we stopped at a traffic signal and I could see a family with a little girl a boy and a mother sitting on the footpath eating their dinner. I could see any happiness or joy of the new year on their face. While the most of the world spends on drinks, pubs and cakes in the name of senseless new year celebration, many people struggle for even a meal. If the new year didn't bring in the change in the life of these poor and homeless people, then the new year is not worth the celebration. New year to me means writing wishes on a greeting card and sharing it with my friends and loved ones which I used to do during my childhood and when I hear my loved one say it was a nice card and thanks for the card, that was the happiest new year for me. I've stopped spending in the name of celebrating new year. Same goes to any other festivals. Say for eg, instead of spending thousands of rupees on burning fireworks, but food or clothes for the needy, especially the children and the women without home. They deserve to celebrate the festival as much as we do. Be the light on their life!

Utsav Singh You asked a good question to which ‘Mr. Not so Fabulous’ had no answer to so . Here’s my take on this Ramayan is we read is a story told through Sita who first didn’t witness a lot of things after she was kidnapped by Ravana . So we might consider her a third person narrating the story and the author while writing a story are known to ‘exaggerate’ things beyond reality to make the story more engaging ( Bal Narendra for example ) So that explains your question.
Utsav Singh Also I don’t know why people refer to hanuman as a ‘monkey ‘ remember it was’ Vanar Sena ‘ And vanar in sanskrit means van(forest) + nar(human) So they could be neanderthals helping the homos sapiens

@Harshit Sharma but if the source is discredited message can always be set aside. Moreover unlike Bible or hadith these are not guide books with commandments. These are as the writers of this book said, Iti + hasa. As it happened. Teachings, though i agree are important , but what the confusion is on events not teaching. Panchtantra also has good teachings. But it is not called itihas, nor work of Kalidasa. Moreover teaching is never the matter of contention. Its event's occurance.
Fabulous Rogue You did lost Ayodhya and Hindustan to Mughals and British empire .. So don’t talk about winning 😂 I am from Nepal and a Hindu . Palki Palki Palki Ramayan is NOT mythology. It's Indian History.
I totally agree with you mam, from the last 3 years I haven't brought any new clothes just because my present clothes are in good condition, and i invested that money in to a startup and we are pushing ourselves into employment creation!
Awesome !! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Do you know Ms Palki..it is a
Delight to hear you..be it news or whatever..you are super nice..🙏🙏
Absolutely true'....👍👍👍
For the foreigners who don't know... This comment is coming from a lady not a dude
I agree. Also super I-know-it-all
Conincidence. I was discussing the other day with my family about having too many things in the house. It's almost a crippling experience. But my mother is the head of our house and she has a phobia of letting go of old stuff, even 20 year old plastic plates that are disfigured.
🤣
Same as my mother😂
I can relate to your mom!! and my mom will relate to you!!😂😂
Same
Yaar respect their mentality...
I use these rules for cloths:
12 shirts, 7 for normal day use, 5 in spare for trips and such.
Which brand u use the most
@@abhikush4017 At the moment it is tailored made cloth, and a Danish brand. But I know that the Danish brand is somewhat made in China.
"I should tell this myself first" - her honesty👏👏
But seriously no harm in sharing with everyone🤗🤗
So true. Agree with everything you said. We need to be emphatic. Greed and selfishness is destroying people, families, the world and without all that what are we???!!!!

Palki Sharma, you have a God gifted personality and intellect.
God bless you.
It's not mythology it's bharats history
You might be confusing mythology with fiction.
When the word 'mythology' is used, history is partially implied.
A myth is typically a historic event that has been transformed over time as it is transferred from generation to generation.
@M36 Kaur mythology means whatever that came before Jesus was a myth. So when you say Shree ram was part of Indian mythology, you're saying Shree ram is myth
When I entered into the comments, I was looking for a guy to say this.
@@ofAwxen well myth is an incorrect word because the “history” part isn’t very sigbicant in that meaning. But that’s not the problem. The problem is another meaning it holds “False believe”

Don't be stupid bro. It's all metaphorical stories. The quicker we accept that, the quicker we can develop. Do you actually think there was a person called Ravan with several heads and a flying superman monkey?
Debating what it is doesn't take you anywhere. Just learn from them and try to live inline with nature.
Ramayan/Quran/Bible all are mythology ....
These are anglicised leftists. They don't know a thing about our Itihasa. Jai Shri Ram.
Yeah. My comment was a lil confusing I guess. My comment was to all those leftists that they shudnt think whether its metaphorical stories or somerthing else. Just take the essense of the epics and live life in harmony.
You almost opened the eyes of everyone who watched this. Brilliant effort. Thank you.
In every episode you are trembling us with your intellect. Looking gorgeous with the red urnee. May Almighty bless you with more wisdom. I salute you. It should be applicable for all festivals.
Ramayan - at least 1 million old history this is UNBELIEVABLE but not mythology
Year 3050 AD , few kids saying Harry Potter is their history , others reading Game of thrones and saying Dragon Queen was their ancestors 😂
1 million years ago, it too much exaggerated .. Nilesh Oak claims it much recent...
It's history, not mythology as claimed by others.

Exactly
NO, neither Mythology nor History. Shri Ram is from our Ithihaas. Ithihaas is not translatable into English as there is no word for it.
Ram just a myth. Myth and history is different
It is a mythology. There is still no evidence for it. So science doesn't care about others feelings. It IS a mythology.

Thanks Ms. Palki. I am a minimalist myself and have actually experienced a very positive Life change since then.
I decided a few years not to participate in the frenzy of 'gift giving' at Christmastime - in agreement with others - and the sheer joy of being able to walk into stores that are bursting at the seams with goodies - and being able to completely ignore it all is absolutely wonderful! Get together with friends and share a meal by all means. I make a purchase on the basis of 'do I NEED this? and if the answer is no I pass - great feeling and giving away stuff I don't need or use adds to it.
INDIAN MYTHOLOGY??????
OR ANCIENT HISTORY OF BHARAT?
Ayodhya, Lanka, Ram setu, Panchavati are physical proof of Ram and Ramayan. And Palki madam begins by calling our ancient HISTORY as mythical.

Don’t use the term “mythology “ for Ramayanam......Ramayanam is the proud history of India,,,,not a myth.

You asked a good question to which ‘Mr. Not so Fabulous’ had no answer to so .
Here’s my take on this
Ramayan is we read is a story told through Sita who first didn’t witness a lot of things after she was kidnapped by Ravana .
So we might consider her a third person narrating the story and the author while writing a story are known to ‘exaggerate’ things beyond reality to make the story more engaging ( Bal Narendra for example )
So that explains your question.
Utsav Singh
Also I don’t know why people refer to hanuman as a ‘monkey ‘ remember it was’ Vanar Sena ‘
And vanar in sanskrit means
van(forest) + nar(human)
So they could be neanderthals helping the homos sapiens

Ramayan and Mahabharat are Itihasa
@Harshit Sharma why don't you find out the etymology of the word, and how insulting it is.

Diwali is similar to autumn and spring cleaning when you clean not only indoors but outside for seasons end to have nice surroundings for festivals and events.
