Great comparison. Thanks pyro. No worries on the ignitors, you live you learn. As someone pointed out UKFR has done some great testing with igniters over the years.

Why do I feel like my mind is blown watching this video with all these shells, awesome presentation! The Thunder shell was cool, Geisha was poppin, but whatever them Master bombs are I needs dem! Wow💯
I’ve always like the Geisha shells but locations are to far away and shipping cost….. well I’m sure you know how it works… so wasn’t able to get any yet but again the master 6,7 are ridiculous
Gotta shop red apple when they have the stuff you want on sale and they offer $99 shipping. That's the only time it's worth it. I will be doing one big order of shells through them annually.
As others are saying, cut the fuse to expose the powder. Ive been using the mjg clips and they seem to work well also. I passfire most of my shells to save on ignitors and I'm limited on cues, but if your already using one ignitor per shell, might as well go directly to the lift charge. More satisfying having the instant launch also loll
@MileHighPyro-303 it works well, doesn't affect the shell leaving the tube. Just add a screw on the rack to wrap the ignitor around or drill a small hole at the top of the tube to knot the wires in it. This keeps the shell from yanking the wires as it leaves
@MileHighPyro-303 couple tips when poking directly into the lift, always leave the shroud around the match, push the shroud/match all the way into the shell, tape the hole, if you do use the mjg initiators with fuse leave a space between the fuse and the match head, don't push the fuse right against the match, and most importantly tie off the end of the wire to a screw or nail on the rack
@@MileHighPyro-303 CodyBPyrotechnics has some videos on fusing mortars/racks where he shows cutting off the bottom of the cans and pouring the lift charge into the tube, then having two small (only big enough for fuse to go in) holes drilled near the bottom. One input, one output both around the lift charge height (right next to bottom). Dump the lift charge, put the cannister sitting on top of the lift, then put fuse into and out of (then from the output to the next input) and hot glue the fuse onto the tube (put fuse into the hole then hotglue then lift charge on the off chance the lift is ignited by the glue.. they said they haven't had it happen in over 1,000 cans though.)

It's the small piece of white fuse that is causing a problem. When you hit that quick fuse with the igniter that short amount of fuse explodes. It's not giving it enough time to ignite it's just blowing out the tape . Alright personally don't care for electronic lighting I hand light everything timed with fuse.
Interesting thought. I had tried this method before and it worked much better than just attaching the igniter to green visco on rockets or cakes. Now it's the same method possibly causing the issue. Back to the drawing board. I will likely manually fuse my shells and rockets for the 4th.
Geisha and Bombas were pretty dang good the only one that was better was the master 7 great video and to bad red apple does not get the credit for how good a lot of their products are. Appreciate the support. I agree with everything you said. I think it's widely accepted that red apple shells are great, their cakes is where they lack. Love the great American fireworks co brand as well. So far everything ive launched from them has been great.
Even if they false advertise a bit with the shell length(which most of these companies do), their shells are still solid. Great prices especially if you get cases on sale. The branding/artwork is sick and I love that every shell is different, numbered, and labeled. For 60g shells you can’t really go wrong.
It's worth it to directly invite cakes. Timing is great when used that way. mJG is just trickier to use directly with green visco fuse. Talons work better for green visco.
