We never know there's possibilities on the other side until we cross it. We are our own limitations. Brandi, you are a bit of character. Shared your story with so much fun and emotions. Alcohol definitely takes away rationality. Glad you are on your way to recovery. Stay sober Brandi❤️

She is right when she says alcohol is much more of a gateway drug compared to weed

Yes being sober can be fun but that is a fun that can be gained gradually. For one withdrawal is never easy but the fun starts in the long term as you free yourself from any addiction that is liberating. Getting control of your life back is a good thing.

No one ha started for fun , they have some helplessness that made that addicted. Addiction is very dangerous things ,like easy to go but its take lots and lots of time to recover.

Thank you for sharing your story!!! I totally agree with that alcohol is the gateway drug.

    • @MrJonsonville5

Only because it's not stigmatized and it's legal, so it's the first thing people try. If alcohol was illegal and mushrooms were the socially acceptable way for people to get high, we'd call them a gateway drug. The truth is alcohol is no more of a gateway drug than coffee is. The vast majority of people who try alcohol live perfectly normal lives and never get addicted to anything. Just because most addicts had their first experiences with alcohol, it doesn't mean it's a gateway to other drugs. If it were, then most of the people who tried alcohol would become addicts, but that's not the case. When less than 1% of the people who try alcohol end up becoming an addict, labeling it a gateway drug reflects a lack of understanding of addiction in general, it's a scapegoat for lazy people who don't want to dig deeper and find the true root causes of addiction.
