    A lot of things taught in kenpo can be adjusted or added in. You can basically make up your own techniques, if the kenpo parameters are kept.

      Yes...we learned that the techniques are just giving us tools for the toolbox to be brought out as we see the position of our attacker change at the moment. From what I was told, a lot of Mr. Parker's techniques were real life confrontations that ended with one strike, and the other moves were added to give students something to learn. I experienced this first hand when I was attacked for real and only got to do the first move of Five Swords.

    Wonder what Rick is thinking when Mr. T says, "Great, let's try it again..." :) This is a badass technique.

      John, Rob sent me. Let’s make this video go viral, and be required viewing for all generation z male audiences enrolled in American public high schools. This video alone can turn the tide for our country, 2021.

    Thanks for posting Larry's videos! Good video. Great presentation of a fun technique. Our base technique is a slight variation of Mr. Tatums, but either way its good Kenpo. It is good to see what Mr. Tatum gleaned from Mr. Parker.

    Strange that you never see any incidences of these combos in real life or the ring

      There was a kendo guy in the first ufcs who landed a couple crazy shots. But not every strike is gonna land when you throw a combo 9 times out of ten.

    • @SDongil
      @SDongil Рік тому

      It's incidents. Real life rarely gets recorded, so who know. Could be every time Rick gets jumped on the street, he pops out this technique...but doesn't have a friend with a phone close by.

    IT IS PRETTY BUT VERY IMPRACTICAL AND IN EFFICIENT! AFTER HE BLOCKS THE ARM, HE IS STILL OPEN. THE UPPER CUT ATTACK IS RIDICULOUS. THEN HE TOTALLY DESTROYS THIS MAN, FOR JUST A PUNCHING ATTACK. TOTAL OVER KILL. TOO MUCH ENERGY, NOT PRACTICAL AT ALL.

      @@jimb7816 I trained Kenpo for 10 years. A pure Kenpoist would have no chance of pulling this off becasuse it is made up BS. No one attacks like that. So yes, I have been to tough Kenpo school but all these rehearsed combos don't work beyond perhaps 1-3 moves.

      @turntablesrockmyworld9315 It's NOT made up bs like you and some people make it out to be. It's totally legit and practical to pull off.

      If you took the art, you would understand the concept of Ideal, What If, and Formulation phases. In addition to a concept of Grafting and the ability to think for yourself. It doesnt have to be an uppercut. This is in the ideal phase. Imagine you got flanked by someone tackling you, their arms can be up, and you pull off the first move, and maybe graft it into another technique. Thats EPAK. Formulation is the spirit of EPAK, not the ideal demonstration.
