I have horrible benzo belly symptoms with extreme weight loss that doesn’t seem to stop, from Ativan . Was thinking about tapering with Ashton method, but l’m afraid that Valium will work on me same way as Ativan does 😢 ls there a way to help with benzo belly naturally? Dr wants to start Prozac to counterbalance this but lm skeptical, it would bring different issues for sure

I once took clonazepam and felt nirvana on the top of my head, the most pleasant feeling ever and total transformation of personality. No sedation at all, pure cheerfulness and sharpness of mind and pleasant relaxed sleep for the next 2 days. 1mg.

      Everyone is absolutely different .
Some people do great with their medication.
      Others struggle.
Our clients are usually the ones who are struggling. This is usually due to other underlying causes, but also sometimes the medication is just not right for them, or they were misdiagnosed in the first place.

Great info. I've been on 1 mg of Klonopin for GAD for almost 30 years. I started tapering 25 days ago. Went down to 3/4 of a tablet for 21 days and now 1/2 a tablet for 4 days. So far, so good with only a little bit of trouble sleeping. I'm not having the side effects you speak about; i.e. stomach issues. My question is, I am also on 37.5 mg Effexor in the morning and I want to come off of that, too. When a miss a dose, I feel it about 7 hours after I was supposed to take it. Do you recommend getting through the Klonopin withdrawal first? My experience has been worse trying to come off of Effexor (more severe side effects). I pisses me off that doctors kept renewing my Rx for Klonopin! My anxiety was really bad 30 years ago, but not one doctor over the years EVER suggested I taper off. Does your center work with people like me? Few side effects (so far) from stopping Klonipin, but I know the Effexor will be more difficult. Thank you in advance.

I was afraid of that.Chroic pain patient 11+ years and 2 back surgeries I'm in so much pain.. My Dr didn't this to me 😭. I think diazepam has completely messed up my central nervous , parasympathetic nervous system.. blood pressure going up and down. Heart rate going up and down.. extreme gut pain. My head is ringing all the time.

Hi Julie , so sorry 😢. I know what you mean , lm taking Ativan for 9 months at bedtime , was prescribed for insomnia , what a horrible mistake , l suffer so much now from GI issues and it’s hard to reduce the dose. Did you try it yet ? Some people switch to Valium for taper , supposedly it’s easier, but if it’s causing same issues as Ativan , l cannot l guess, it’s just horrible. My weight loss doesn’t stop 😭

Do not switch anything! You're just asking for trouble. That can make everything horribly worse. Benzos are the worst thing on the planet. Heroin addicts has said, benzos were worse to get off of than heroin 🥺. Poison by our doctors. With no help. And they don't believe what they've done to us.

I know there is a lot you wont know, I have I guess a lot of maybe PTSD anxiety from being in prison, My doctor gave me pregablin, and it didn't help, put me on Ativan, It makes me tired. I asked for gaba pentin, she said no and wants me to take colonopin. Am I wrong for thinking this is too extreme?

Your Health Is Unique To You. Your Overall Sense Of Wellness Is Unique To YOU.
If Your Doctor won't Take Your Concerns Into Account, Maybe Try A New Doctor. You Are The One That Will Have To Deal With How You Feel Once They Start You On Klonopin. If You Feel it is too Extreme, Express That To Your Doctor.

@@AlternativetoMedsCenter Actually I am finding the colonopin Is less tiring, and more gentle, and I don't even know, when it wears off as it less abrupt than ativan. However I am only given 20 - 1/2 mg for the month, I understand her habit concerns, But I think alcohol is far more of a problem. And I am considering it Because it helps. My dose is too low and she wont increase it. I think you right I have will talk to another doctor. I have been with my current doctor for over 2 years. My gut feeling is she follows the book, and wont deviate, and dosnt like to move into problem meds. Why ADHD and Depression get complete support for treatment, but anxiety does not.

Switch to valium in a later stage of your taper is ok. Absolutely do not take Prozac! See Ashton Manual.
