I literally lost my shit when I saw that in the chart, like how were they able to do that?! It makes me so happy and the story was so beautiful, now I understand how and why Xenon has Sairai in his album. Kinda wished every other song in Alice’s album had a piano segment to their chart, or a DEEMO difficulty like Glitch. Other than that, Rayark knows how to go ham when referencing their other games perfectly when it comes to collabs

If I have to guess, because it's a story or a cutscenes. They able to code special thing into story that breaks the game own rules.
Either that or they keep updating their game engine for new gameplay.

It's just part of the story. They definitely changed the code a bit to bring deemo gameplay into that song.
I don't think it will happen again. Rhythm games shouldn't change gameplay at all after the release. The click-slide notes in cytus 2 is an exception because it's just a note pattern turned into new notes. It's basically a click note on a slide with click note color to avoid confusion
Maybe they'll use it again on April fools?
