    For the crust
    1 1/2 cup all purpose flour ______________ 14
    2 tablespoons sugar ____________________ 2
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/2 cup cold butter, unsalted ____________ 22
    1 egg yolk ______________________________ 6
    3 tablespoons ice cold water
    For the filling:
    1 can (375mL) evaporated milk __________ 28
    5 whole eggs ____________________________ 30
    1 cup sugar _____________________________ 12
    1 1/2 tsp vanilla _________________________ 3
    1 egg white (*egg white from the same egg for the crust)
    Total ____________________________________ 117 pesos

    I tried this recipe with a lot less sugar. Also included lemon zest in the pastry to cut the richness, It was perfect! Thank you for the yummy recipe.

    Pie crust
    1 ½ cup APF
    2 Tbsp Sugar
    1 tsl Salt
    ½ Cup of butter (125 gms/1 stick)
    1 pcs egg yolk
    Egg pie filling
    375 Ml fresh milk ( heat)
    5 pcs egg
    1 cup sugar
    1 ½ tsp vanilla ext.
    1 egg white beat in soft peak.
    Preheat andBake 180°c
    15 to 20 mins

    Tried to baked it yesterday 😊 ang sarap nya sakto lng yung tamis .. yung filling nya lng hndi creamy may mga bubbles sa loob after nya maluto ,hndi ko alam saan ako nagkamali pero yung crust nya yummy

    Your music is way too LOUD! I can't imagine this taste good. If it had cream or milk it would be a custard pie and custard pies are delicious but eggs and sugar? I'm gagging just thinking about it.

    Yung crust nakalagay chill until ready pero baked pala. Tapos beat egg yolk pero egg white pala. Anyare? Hahahahaha

      I tried this version of eggpie, pero ang lasa nya is eggie. Prng hindi eggpie. Gnwa ko nmn lht ng procedure. Paborito ko pa nman tong eggpie. 😭 hindi ko maintndhan ang lasa super layo. Feeling ko dpt egg yolk lng sya and condensed milk ang gmitin instead of sugar.

    I tried this version of eggpie, pero ang lasa nya is eggie na lasng vanilla essence.,Prng hindi eggpie. Gnwa ko nmn lht ng procedure. Paborito ko pa nman tong eggpie. 😭 hindi ko maintndhan ang lasa super layo, Better sguro if gummit ako ng egg yolkbat condensed milk instead of sugar, then kunting lemon.

      I don’t think you could. You’d burn your crust if it’s already baked and you’d bake it again with the filling. You have to bake the crust and the filling together.

    Nakakatuwa isipin na hanggang tingin nlng ako ng mga gnito pero nattakam din ako subukan kaso parang laging may kailangang utensils gamitin tulad dun sa tart na part or yung pang halo dun sa egg yolk. Nevertheless nakakakalma ung pagkakagawa at informative :)

    pwede po bang i- toast muna ang crush (medyo crispy ng kaunti) bago siya lagyan ng filling
    hindi ko kasi nakakain iyong tinapay niya dahil walang lasa. natatalo ng filling kaya 80% natatapon lang lalo na iyong makapal na parte

    Can I used small baking pan like the one being used when making ensaymada? Is it still one hour baking at 160 degrees?

      Hi! Yes you can, then adjust the baking time accordingly. Smaller pans takes shorter time to bake :)

      I watch some video about baking, they usually put cream of tartar to the egg white before beating into soft peak and fold to the eggs mixture

    the egg yolk that was beat to stiff peaks looked a lot like the egg white

    Pweding fresh milk instead evaporated milk? Wanna try this pero hirap mkahanap ng evap milk sa place ko😭

      You can slow simmer a fresh milk to reduce almost a half to make an evaporated milk. So make sure you double the volume of fresh milk on what the recipe requires, that if u want to make a home made evaporated milk😉

      Yes! you can! Actually it will taste even better if you chill it for 4 hours or overnight and it will be easier to cut when the pie is fully firm. Just let the pie cool completely before you put it in the fridge and it will last in the fridge for about 3 days.

    I tried the recipe. Ang sarap po niya. I just got a prob with the crust. It got too sticky. Maybe I need less water. Next time, I'll try it with 1 tbsp of water only.

    Triny ko po to pero di nag solid yung fillings.. binalik ko po sya for 8 mins pero natakot ako kasi nasusunog na yung taas pero yung loob basa padin.. ano po kaya mali ko?

    Accdg sa video instruction, beat the egg white until soft peak, but it looks like hard peak..
