    My grandfather and great-grandfather were superintendents of the saltworks for over 50 years between them. I remember him giving me a ride in the narrow gauge train ("dinky"). Fond, fond memories.

    1:49 captures how peaceful and alone you use to be able to feel down by the bay... mostly So. Bay.
    4:58 glad that's gone.
    5:24 had two friends and my brother race me up that hill. Looks like snow, feels like solid rock. No kidding.
    5:50 use to play on those conveyor belts too.... that and the Nelson/Sloan plan of Hollister.

    There are some really beautiful sunsets there, too bad there isn't some sort of public park.

    A mention of the South Bay Salt Works was made on the main page of English Wikipedia in 2015. The article on the salt works has been improved to the point of peer review Good Article status as of 2019.
