My best friend was a big man Ben's size . he had undiagnosed high blood pressure witch killed his kidneys. He hung in there for a few years but the strain on his system was to much and he died at the age of 35.
I hope and pray someone in Ben's life will help him lose the weight. Deadly issues can pop up quickly when you're carrying that kind of weight. He's a super talented man the world needs him around for a long time. I'll be praying for you bro.👍
. . . Well stated - no one else has ?.. . It is a most serious matter of concern .
That brown and blue rosette is absolutely stunning.
That inlay work around the sound hole and on the headstock is so well done 👌
So inspiring to see a true craftsman put his blood and sweat into an instrument. Love it, they look and sound amazing. I want one!
It is amazing how warm and sweet each of these guitars sounds. I love mahogany top guitars, but I could easily fall in love with these beauties.
I have a Franklin 13 fret guitar that I requested to get best of both world and I did. It is 24.9 short scale. If he built short scale say a 00 24.75 I would be bellying up to the counter. Super nice guitar building with great tones.
That can be arranged
Nice work Ben. Beautiful guitars and sound awesome as well. I wish much success for you.
You definitely picked the guitar my ears preferred. Stunning sounding guitar mate, great choice. Well done Ben.
great stuff jeremy! i wish ben all success in his journey!!👍
Awesome you are helping this guy get his guitars out there
Congrats on your purchase ... Both guitars sound amazing for their size. I think the Mahogany one sounded the best to me with more bass and low end.
Amazing to see what can be made with a dream and talent for craftsmanship. Hats off to you Ben. They sound beautiful :)
Wow beautiful sounding instruments!! Thank you for the follow up video!
Amazing. You’re so talented, Ben!
Those opening visuals 😍😍😍
Absolutely beautiful. The guitars, the countryside and the sound.🤐
Beautiful countryside!
Super cool! Music and friendship, indeed!
Beautiful sounding and looking guitars. I can always dream!
A wise purchase Jeremy. Ben's guitars will likely jump in value. His aesthetics/sound are world class.
😂 as long as he can resell them for double the price
Premium builders are asking 16k plus. To get on the ground floor is lucky!
My hats off to Ben. I don't see how you can build such a wonderful custom guitar for that price. If I were in the market I'd sign up today. I personally like the sound of the second one best. Keep up the great work. I'm also glad people are breaking the cult of the D guitar. I'm small and now I have a bad shoulder and have trouble reaching over a D so I swapped down to a 000 and am quite happy. I'm glad many are realizing that although, there is a place for a D size, it's not the end all of guitars.
Congrats on your new Padget; they both sound great!
Beautiful guitars
Please do a shop tour video! It be amazing to see what he’s using to build.
been excited for this, Ben is awesome
Too cool for (luthier) school! Love when the "little guy" gets his piece of the pie too.
beautiful guitars!
Great sounding guitars!
Damn Skeddy, 3500 is an absolute steal, raise your prices bud, gorgeous work as always.
Also small world moment, The 3 longest serving string winders at Stringjoy (including myself) were taught by Ben at the Galloup school
Man, that sounds absolutely beautiful!
What a nice introduction to a "new-ish" builder. I would have come away with that Hog one myself.
Wow - great sounding guitars.
I want to play one of those badly.... which is what I would do.
Hahah. I just got this.
You have got my attention. That guitar sounds amazing both of them do. I would love to try one out sometime
Come hang!
Probably has pretty good action. Seems like that would be important, although no reviewers so far as have seen ,have even discussed it. I send guitars back that are high action, almost always have twists in the neck, poor fret work, etc. The China stuff is sad. Beautiful guitars with beautiful sound. Thanks for the video! Be well
Looks like the 13 fret design make those strings slinky, surprisingly bendable
Im a 000 player i have 2 , among way too many others i own as well.
But i saw the cocabolo on your site , i had to come hear it, and im not dissapointed, nice
Let's make a deal and be guitar bros!
Thanks Jeremy. I didn't hear you mention neck profile/shape. Does he offer a clear pick guard? Yes that hand rubbed finish is nice but in my experience with Dad's wood work finish would wear.
This guy and his guitars are amazing and he needs to charge more for his guitars, at least $4,500, which is probably still less than it should be for a hand built guitar of that quality!
What are you playing in the intro and also at the 0:50 mark?
Just riffing. It's c#m7, A, E, B
@@JeremySheppard Nice, sounds good. Has a very Johnny Rzeznik vibe to it.
Are those TKL cases?
They are. Fit in a dread case.
Jeremy, you make pretty much any guitar sound its best. ;-)
Aww shucks.
Wow
That first guitar is so…beautiful. Why/how did he decide no pick guard? $3,500 is cheap for that craftsmanship. 😊
We both like the aesthetic. You can do a clear one if you want but it affects volume and tone.
I wish I had any reason to buy a new guitar...give me time. Perhaps after a new roof and carpet.
But coveting is a sin so if I order one I'll not covet, right?
Why are they not dreadnoughts ?
Ben says it in the video, dreadnoughts have been done a thousand times over. It's interesting to me that of all these new builders almost none of them are building dreadnoughts.
I have a suspicion that dreadnoughts are going away or at least will step back as a less popular size to OM's and 000's
Thanks guess I thought if it's not a cut out then it must be a dreadnought. Never to old to learn
Ask him if he will build one for me, for a 5hp American made drum sander. He needs one, I want on the ground floor of this guy. These guitars are top notch. I don’t even need a bellybutton lol
Your boy said a base price of 3500 which I assumed included certain things and then was quoted nearly 5k for a guitar build. I know a living must be made but the price given to me is on par with other well established makers. (I.e. EJ Henderson built me a guitar for less ).
I get that. What did you get quoted? You'll be hard pressed to get a guitar even close to this quality for less than $5k.
Sounds like a Taylor..
Is that good or bad?
Really good
Sorry, but coming from a classical/flamenco world, playing French polished guitars without a sleeve is making me wince...
Dang Virginia go see lamb of god
