  • Thanks tomtoc for letting me customize my own sling. (They sent this to me to take photos with, not review)
I really like this sling. It's a 4L pack, so I have more than enough room for all my items. I usually use the tomtoc SlingBean 1.5L.
The bag is constructed very well. I went with the X-Pac VX-21 shell. This choice was mostly for looks and out of curiosity. There is also a 500D Cordura option. Or you could mix both. I decided to go with a Dark Green and Black theme. You could change the color of all the panels and the webbing. There's also many options for the lock as well. I went with the Fidlock V-Buckle. Again, because it looked cool. But after using it a lot, the buckle was a great choice and I would take it over the standard buckle any day.
The Interior also comes in many colors. I went with the black interior to match the black on the outside. Although this does make it harder to find things quickly. There's the high vis orange and blue interior options if you'd like. If I had to do it again... I might go with a high vis color interior.
There does seem to be a lot of space in this bag, and enough organization. The only thing to keep in mind is that the exterior pockets do not have their own outer capacity and will reduce the interior capacity when filled up. So for the outer pockets I would only keep slim things in them.
Overall I'm very happy with this bag. The construction is very durable. The hardware is really nice. And the design (not just the color options picked by me) is very minimal and sleek.
If I could change things- I would like to see a 1.5L customizable option. I use these slings as pocket relievers, and although the bag is really nice, it's a little large for everyday use (for me). I would also like it if the outer pockets had their own outward dimension, so it doesn't cut into the interior space when used.
