When the Lower Moons fail, he pretty much annihilated them all at once. But when Akaza "fails", Muzan's response is essentially, "I know you can do better".

Oh reuploaded? Context on this episode: Muzan was doing his intel by shapeshifting as a child to a family who owns a pharma company. If you noticed the book, it's about botany and illustrations of herbs. He was also doing his research on the blue spider lily. I've mentioned there are a couple of Rengoku related materials out there that are still not animated. I'll withold the other info which are spoiler territory, but just to provide more idea on the dad (shinjuro) and lil bro (senjuro), the mugen train cd drama gives better context, which is also timeline compliant. In the movie it was already hinted that the dad became a mess after the mom died. With his reactions to the sun breathing in this ep goes to show his inferiority complex towards it, contributed to his fears of losing his sons which also led to their strained relationship, especially w/ Kyojuro. Shinjuro's depression was already in an awful state became even worse when his son became a demon slayer. Remember what kyojuro said to his lil bro during the dream scene? "Let's do our best, no matter how lonely it gets"? Since kyojuro is always out on missions, this leaves the lil bro very lonely. And in his last talk to tanjiro, he refers his home as "parents' / old residence" instead of "my home" because he was kicked out when he became a demon slayer. Shinjuro's efforts to discourage his son's motivation in becoming a hashira unfortunately backfired. He dearly loved his family but the death of his wife really brought out the worse in him. Kyojuro makes the most of his free time bonding w/ senjuro. Teaching him to practice, buying gifts like books (senjuro is a bookworm), and senjuro would show his newly improved sword skills to his big bro. Both of them knew already that senjuro is not meant for the sword and that causes him to be very hard on himself. Kyojuro encourages him to practice but would remind him that there is more to life than being a hashira and one should not narrow one's view as there are many ways to help other people. Kyojuro's last words to senjuro is a reminder of that conversation and no matter what path senjuro chooses, big bro will always support him. Hits harder when we knew that Kyojuro always wanted to have a tsuguko, "I'll train you to be a fine swordsman!" (Mugen train "aniki!" scene). Kyojuro's death brings the end of the Rengoku hashira lineage, yet frees the surviving family from generations of pressure / burden of becoming one. The name means Rengoku means "purgatory" in english and when broken down could also mean training one's body and prison. Makes sense. The family 's purpose feels more like metaphorical prison / purgatory. Being a hashira maybe cool and all but the mental toll it could bring is heavy. Shinjuro's "lecture" on the sun breathing is a huge fyi. Now, Tengen Uzui is the next hashira that the boys will accompany on their next mission. His character design now is way better than the original (he's slimmer and he looked like someone threw a roll of bandages on him). In the KnY light novel, after the incident in the butterfly mansion, aoi and kanao's friendship improved. It was mentioned in the KnY databook shinobu almost had a dispute with tengen after finding out what happened in the mansion. But for now things will get flashy! About the spank scene -- cultural and time period differences. Aoi is not only the character who gets spanked in this series. I see male reactors have a different reaction on the zenitsu / stolen buns at aoi's kitchen scene. I never even noticed that! At all! 😂
