she won the prix, so obviously the judges like it! It shows off Alina's dancing technique, ability to play with the music, to act, to let go of herself, to be an entertainer, and a dancer who is open to different styles and dance types.
this neoclassical piece reflects Alina's background in gymnastics and acrobatics before she became a ballet dancer. Those who are saying "wtf is this?" and "can't she pick between ballet and gymnastics?" are being closed minded and, well, ignorant. nowadays everything is a pastiche of a million different things. we're in a postmodern age, people.
Watching this, I'm thinking that I've been doing nothing comparing to her and I'm 15 myself. Bravo, Alina, thank you for all you've done! And making not only me, but so many people, proud to be Romanian!

I used to have a "don't fight gravity" and "forget you have arms" mantra when stretching. It will lead you through times of pain but it works pretty well.
This piece is so cool and she performed it with so much character!! But I don't like it as a competition piece because it showcases more of her acting and flexibility than her technique. She is adorable though!

AMAZING! I am also fifteen and in comparison I feel like an amature trying to dance. She is beautiful. Not only at ballet she is able to tumble in point shoes. That is extremely hard to do!
