I played the game again too but i copied my file before i made the choice, deleted my save after i made the choice and saw the ending and pasted it to see the other. I played it with a friend, he went for miyuki and i went for Aoi, i nearly cried ahhh.
Almost 4 years now since the day I first played Totono, and even till today, my eyes still get teary from the memories that I've experienced while playing this game. Back the i thought it was just another VN to plah or to kill time, but damn now i can take it back and say that it has become one of my core memories and also one of the best things I've ever experienced. Totono needs more recognition man, it really do.
Man, hearing this song during the true ending must be how going hollow in Dark Souls feels like... Not to be overly dramatic, but it makes me feel ready to die with no fear and no remorse...
The best visual novel I have ever seen and had the amazing courtesy to play, I can't come to terms with the fact that there probably won't ever be a numero dos, I want to play a sequel of this, I cried for hours, because I came to realise how alike me and Aoi were, and how it made sense why I never made any friends or goals in school, and why I now just blankly go through everyday, believing in false worlds to help my insecurity of knowing that I will never be happy. Either way, I would give this game a 10 out of 10, and in my personal opinion, the uncensored version just spoils the care and love and bond you build up with the main characters. I am once again thankful to have played the game and thank the channel for publishing the music for me to listen to every morning.
I love how this game literally made one of the best vn characters ever written eternal by predicating the continuation of her ethereal existence upon intertwining it with characters in other visual novels. It literally made me look at other female charcters and be like "I know it's you, Aoi". Genius.
I went into ToToNo blind right after finishing FMD Muramasa, thinking "Oh, here's a love story from Nitro+, and it's only 15+ hours according to vndb. Could be a nice way to cool down from Muramasa." Little did I know that it would devastate me far more than Muramasa ever could. It's been days and I still get teary eyed thinking about my parting with Aoi. But I know she'll always be around in some form, in every heroine I've ever pursued, and every heroine I'll meet from now on--they are all Aoi. And I'll always be around for Aoi too; as the neighborhood shota, the ugly bastard, the fledgling knight, the ninja trainee, the jaded detective, and so on. In every life, I'll choose Aoi every time. I'm not the intended audience by a wide margin, I feel (I'm a girl, way more used to otomege than galge or moege, and I found myself feeling very awkward at some scenes because this kind of plot/'plot' ratio is also relatively new for me) but still, I was left openly ugly crying during the finale and a genuine emotional wreck. Am I wrong in hoping Aoi's heroine amalgamation powers may extend to heroes? Can I hope to also find something of her in the genki sunshine boys, flirty scoundrels and impeccably smiling yandere protectors who constitute my usual bread and butter?? I love this lil denpa weirdo, she's precious, and she deserves the world(s). ... This game really speaks to our capacity to inject meaning into fictional characters in a wonderful way, and I feel both harrowed and grateful after the experience. And that the stories you've been playing since continue to affect you. :) (Also you seem to be a Nitroplus connoisseur, so if it isn't any trouble maybe you can recommend me other titles? After Totono I have half a need to expand, and get to discover more male-protag titles with good stories I might have otherwise overlooked. Maybe it's time I meet more heroines. ^^ I can only do translations and I'd rather play more vanilla titles, I'm afraid some of the more explicit/niche content that is out there is liable to turn me off, but otherwise I'm curious to dig into uncharted territory - the more emotionally involving the better. I already have half a mind to go look for evey other title Shimokura Vio has penned that might be available. ... Though it might be a while before I actually get to _play_ another galge - the post-game blues is strong with this one ^^;)
@@SweetPlumPudding nitroplus visual novels are fairly varied in content and storytelling. totono is unique even amongst the rest of their library, and among the medium, honestly, so it's very difficult to recommend other visual novels in the same vein, due to how it focuses on intentionally parodying the tropes of your typical galge/moege. that being said, tokyo necro may be a fun read for you. it's written by shimokura vio, has a very high degree of respect for the main characters, great worldbuilding, and is probably the most vanilla in terms of explicit content. it's more of an action/thriller and not truly comparable to a standard galge, however. totono, full metal daemon muramasa, and saya no uta are the big three of nitroplus. however, muramasa and especially saya no uta are fairly explicit in some (or all) of its content, and muramasa has an extreme focus on immersing you in its world and fight scenes, which is either a very good or not so good thing depending on how it clicks with you. fantastically written protagonists, though.
To be honest I did both endings by deleting the game files I felt a sense of guilt after I did that... That I should have not done that and be contented by what I chose before. But instead, I made my way into the game files and manipulated it... I feel like I've betrayed Miyuki by doing Aoi's ending I feel like desecrating Aoi by also doing Miyuki's ending But at the same, I don't feel that way... I just want them both to be happy then I looked at the deleted files in the recycle bin and copied them into my files both save files that contained their endings and kept them in a separated folder... Until now I still feel guilty by what I've done well I guess the die is cast and that will never change my decision

I'd have to somehow play with the medium of anime instead to work, perhaps a spiritual sequal with a similar name highlighting some trope or set in stone idea about anime/animation that could be prod at in it's rawest form, otherwise it wouldn't make any sense

The best visual novel I have ever seen and had the amazing courtesy to play, I can't come to terms with the fact that there probably won't ever be a numero dos, I want to play a sequel of this, I cried for hours, because I came to realise how alike me and Aoi were, and how it made sense why I never made any friends or goals in school, and why I now just blankly go through everyday, believing in false worlds to help my insecurity of knowing that I will never be happy. Either way, I would give this game a 10 out of 10, and in my personal opinion, the uncensored version just spoils the care and love and bond you build up with the main characters. I am once again thankful to have played the game and thank the channel for publishing the music for me to listen to every morning.

I love how this game literally made one of the best vn characters ever written eternal by predicating the continuation of her ethereal existence upon intertwining it with characters in other visual novels.
It literally made me look at other female charcters and be like "I know it's you, Aoi". Genius.
I went into ToToNo blind right after finishing FMD Muramasa, thinking "Oh, here's a love story from Nitro+, and it's only 15+ hours according to vndb. Could be a nice way to cool down from Muramasa." Little did I know that it would devastate me far more than Muramasa ever could. It's been days and I still get teary eyed thinking about my parting with Aoi. But I know she'll always be around in some form, in every heroine I've ever pursued, and every heroine I'll meet from now on--they are all Aoi. And I'll always be around for Aoi too; as the neighborhood shota, the ugly bastard, the fledgling knight, the ninja trainee, the jaded detective, and so on. In every life, I'll choose Aoi every time. ( ＾◡＾)っ ♡
Just finished it. I'm not the intended audience by a wide margin, I feel (I'm a girl, way more used to otomege than galge or moege, and I found myself feeling very awkward at some scenes because this kind of plot/'plot' ratio is also relatively new for me) but still, I was left openly ugly crying during the finale and a genuine emotional wreck. Am I wrong in hoping Aoi's heroine amalgamation powers may extend to heroes? Can I hope to also find something of her in the genki sunshine boys, flirty scoundrels and impeccably smiling yandere protectors who constitute my usual bread and butter?? I love this lil denpa weirdo, she's precious, and she deserves the world(s).
... Anyway, sorry for replying to this comment so long after you posted it- something in your reaction to playing really resonated with how I feel right at this minute, and I wanted to commiserate. This game really speaks to our capacity to inject meaning into fictional characters in a wonderful way, and I feel both harrowed and grateful after the experience. Wherever you are right now, I hope you still remember your playthrough fondly! And that the stories you've been playing since continue to affect you. :)
(Also you seem to be a Nitroplus connoisseur, so if it isn't any trouble maybe you can recommend me other titles? After Totono I have half a need to expand, and get to discover more male-protag titles with good stories I might have otherwise overlooked. Maybe it's time I meet more heroines. ^^ I can only do translations and I'd rather play more vanilla titles, I'm afraid some of the more explicit/niche content that is out there is liable to turn me off, but otherwise I'm curious to dig into uncharted territory - the more emotionally involving the better. I already have half a mind to go look for evey other title Shimokura Vio has penned that might be available. ... Though it might be a while before I actually get to _play_ another galge - the post-game blues is strong with this one ^^;)
@@SweetPlumPudding nitroplus visual novels are fairly varied in content and storytelling. totono is unique even amongst the rest of their library, and among the medium, honestly, so it's very difficult to recommend other visual novels in the same vein, due to how it focuses on intentionally parodying the tropes of your typical galge/moege.
that being said, tokyo necro may be a fun read for you. it's written by shimokura vio, has a very high degree of respect for the main characters, great worldbuilding, and is probably the most vanilla in terms of explicit content. it's more of an action/thriller and not truly comparable to a standard galge, however.
totono, full metal daemon muramasa, and saya no uta are the big three of nitroplus. however, muramasa and especially saya no uta are fairly explicit in some (or all) of its content, and muramasa has an extreme focus on immersing you in its world and fight scenes, which is either a very good or not so good thing depending on how it clicks with you. fantastically written protagonists, though.

To be honest I did both endings by deleting the game files
I felt a sense of guilt after I did that...
That I should have not done that and be contented by what I chose before. But instead, I made my way into the game files and manipulated it...
I feel like I've betrayed Miyuki by doing Aoi's ending

But at the same, I don't feel that way...
I just want them both to be happy
then I looked at the deleted files in the recycle bin and copied them into my files
both save files that contained their endings and kept them in a separated folder...
Until now I still feel guilty by what I've done

I just wish I had played this visual novel way earlier, so I could have spent more time with Aoi in other games...

Problem is, the plot doesn't really work outside of the VN format.
I'd have to somehow play with the medium of anime instead to work, perhaps a spiritual sequal with a similar name highlighting some trope or set in stone idea about anime/animation that could be prod at in it's rawest form, otherwise it wouldn't make any sense

Muv-Luv Alternative. There's something about this game that made me stop sleeping at night.
Though, two/three years after playing Totono, it's still one of the greatest experiences I've had. I still recommend Totono nowadays, because it's that great of a game.
