- John MacArthur teaching from 1 Peter 2:21 On ( The Glory Through Suffering), The conclusion of his message -The greater the suffering for righteousness’ sake with endurance and patience, the greater the eternal capacity to glorify God.
The last few years have been a season of suffering for me. I'm seeing that my church and I are moving in 2 different ways. I don't want to leave my church, I don't want to worship in the ways of the world either. I feel like I'm in a social club not a church. I'm praying for guidance in this situation. In the name of Jesus.
It is tough to find a great church these days in which produces good fruit. At least we can come together for a great sermon right here. Praise Jesus!
I kno what you mean, it can feel like that sometimes, but and its a big but, its christians getting together, worshiping together,
Personaly i felt the same, untill i joined the bible study midweek, which was more bible focused less chit chat, unlike the tea and coffee after service, since i joined that the after service time felt like a good way to catch up and share stories that have happend through the week.
Obviously if your taking part in other things and still feel the same way maybe look for another church.
That being said, if the word is being preached and your not hearing any antibiblical or waterdown stuff maybe just pray and speak to your fellow brother and sisters about how your feeling. And who knows what god has in plan.

Do know God can take him home because people are in love with a man instead of only God . How is that any different from the world who have their love of celebrities . It’s exactly the same thing !

@@risk2193 John says himself that he is fallible and to test everything even from him against the scripture. He is humble and is studying constantly. He has helped me more than any other teacher although I have found a few others as well.
@@RepentfollowJesus I know, I just want her to know that Jesus is the ONLY truth. A lot of people make it about following different teachers when we are all united under Christ. This same issue arose in the early Church. 1 Corinthians 3:4 "For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?"

I read and analyze everything John preaches against the Word of God. Period. Even John says to do that. Because what John preaches is what God has already said. So I look up the scripture he expounds on and study it.

Almost as if we pay the price of sin by suffering it while alive. I say that because as the years go by all I ever seem to see in absolutely everything we have built this world on is sin. Living with the knowledge of sin brings you alive in the truth. To me, seeing the effects of sin throughout history...throughout the world today...and embedded in my life and loved ones. But I can not forget who has suffered the most, God himself. God dealt with Sin through Jesus and that price was paid by God...and he did it for love. Believing that destroys the suffering I fell and only then am I free to move on from my old life, into a new one...walking with Him by the example of Jesus Christ, His beloved Son, and our forever Savior and King.
It's not about paying for sin, though God chastises those whom He loves. But it is to build our faith and change us too. It's part of being sanctified.

This is hard pill to swallow for a lot believers but in the end it will be worth it. This Christian experience isn’t a easy experience but the love and peace of god in suffering is unlike no other.
This man is a good example of the man whom I pray for God to allow to find me one day.
I want a man who has two loves over me. I want to be 3rd in line to:
His love for God
And
His love for God's word.
JM is an example of what Paul meant when he said, 'follow me as I follow Christ.'
This man, C. H. Spurgeon and Paul Washer challenge me to study more and when I think I'm doing well...study harder.
Those believers that are suffering now will be greatly encouraged by this message.

It feels sometimes like hardly anybody is telling us the truth. This is the first Bible teacher who has really captured me. The Holy Spirit followed shortly after. This surely is the truth.

Advising the homosexuals and lesbians of the suffering to come after death is a message of love. Not advising them is hatred because hell is real. God gives grace to all sinners to change their mind so that they can have a place in heaven. God shows grace only to the sinners that humble before Him and come to the Lord on His terms: "God resists the proud but shows grace to the humble."

the Father will NOT draw a proud sinner to the Savior who refuses to come to Him on His terms. the only obstacle between a sinner and the forgiveness of the God of the Bible is the sinner's pride.
yet not all (homosexual or heterosexual nor trans-sexual) will change their minds, they can't on their own; God has to elect them; the Spirit has to move where he wills to "make" them and "enable" them to be born again.
@@TheGazgaza I believe God will elect them also when they will to repent. For God called everyone to repent. When a man wills to repent won't God have grace upon them to be able to be saved? I believe God wants everyone to repent and be saved, it doesn't make sense if he is the one not enabling them. I believe God empowers those who listen and believe to be able to fully be saved. I believe God is eager to save souls.

God gave us a choice in life: accept and follow Jesus as our personal Savior and be with Him in eternity, OR, reject Jesus as the Son of God and be separated from Him for eternity. We all place our bets on eternity, and let the chips fall where they may.
Seems that so far, you have rejected Jesus. Therefore, you have placed your bet for your eternity. There is still time, as long as you are alive in THIS life, but the scripture says, "It is appointed unto man to die once, and then the judgment." After you take your last breath, your eternal bet is, at that moment, set in stone. "Seek the Lord while He may still be found."

Why is a pre trib rapture taught so much when no where in the Bible does it say that we, as believers are to be raptured before the great tribulation. Matt 24, Jesus says Himself when we will be raptured. I know we will not endure God's wrath. But, the great tribulation is not God's wrath, but mans, or satan.
I listened to Pastor John years ago and it's nice to hear from him again on UA-cam. You can tell his teaching comes from a lifetime of Bible study

This sermon is one of my favorite sermons of all time. I think a lot of us find it hard to accept once we give our life’s to Jesus that it also comes with persecution and suffering but in the end it will be worth it.

I am 70. I have had 18 joint related surgeries beginning in 1975. The last joint related surgery was last year. I point out “joint related” as none of these surgeries were soft tissue like liver, heart, kidney etc. while I am grateful for this, at times I begin to feel a pity party coming. As soon as this happens, I listen to this sermon! For me, a great help.

I've been a Christian for many years and I tell you of a truth that this is the path we should follow it is one of the Beatitudes and Christ said If any man would come after me let him first first deny himself and take up his cross he that will find his life shall lose it and he that loses his life she'll save it he that exalts himself shall be absent and he that humbles himself shall be exalted the first shall be last and the last shall be first..... This is the gospel!!!!!!

He's talking mostly about suffering for our faith which those of us here in the United States have nothing to complain about compared to countries like North korea, iraq, iran, etc. But it still was incredibly helpful! I take it to mean the times when I keep my big mouth shut when Jesus isn't calling me to stand up for Him. There's a time for that but he also teaches us servitude and humility. Neither of which come easy for me. So when I deny myself and see others as more important than myself, mentally washing their feet anyway, God rewards me because I'm really trying hard to be like His Son. Knowing what those smarter than persecuted Christians are going through, I really shouldn't complain, but it is hard. And thinking of watching those martyred and persecuted Christians received their rewards in heaven someday, oh my! Prayer was just requested through Open Doors for a woman who had bought her wedding dress, but the Taliban took over her town and she barely escaped with seven of her young students. Now she's in a foreign country trying to take care of them on her own, but teaching them about Jesus, and mourning the loss of the marriage she had dreamed of. Thank you Jesus for what you do for each and every one of us! Can't wait to meet her and all the others in heaven someday and see them be rewarded for their faithfulness.

Suffering seizes to be suffering when it becomes a pathway towards glory. Think about it. If we have hope for the future and our past has been settled by a great truth then we are free to enjoy the moment even if it's unbearable. That is a great deal better than the yogis viewpoint which focuses on us embracing the pain in the moment for no other reason than to get in touch with our bodies to try and renegotiate the feeling of pain itself. We humans a great at doing everything other than looking at our own reflection especially when it comes down to looking straight into the biblical mirror of scripture for an accurate rendition of our image.

Nicolition1 Jesus endured the cross for the joy that lay before him. Glory also lay before him. But please, don't tell me it wasn't suffering he wen through. The suffering is very real, however much glory lies ahead.
Nicolas Migraine No, suffering is a solid reality in the realm of Time. We cannot wiggle our way around what is real. Christ suffering was certainly profound. So much so that His sweat mixed with His blood. So much so that He wept. Try as we might, we cannot 'trick' ourselves with thought process such as this which might sound spiritual, but it is actually mystical dichotomy.

I have endured for years, overlooking, forgiving, blessing those who cursed and reviled when I wasn't yet a parent. Only left a controlling abusive marriage for the sake of my child. Evil was intended. Yet have saught peace rather than justice. May God bless them and have mercy on us all.

Listening to Dr. MacArthur for quite some time now ! What always questions my heart, soul and mind is salvation. I was baptised around 30 plus years ago but couldnt explain the change that I have heard others state. One week I'm on fire and just cant get enough of the word. My other half of my brain seems to be dual personalities struggling (or satan) and its the part of me I hate. Ive often wondered being raised with a mom and dad completely unyoked if those traits are playing inside my mind? I can honestly say I dont recall any real changes on a consistent basis so i am constantly doubting my salvation? I read, listen and pray but when I've done something I have no business doing then I stay away from worshiping God. I work on Sundays and have not found a church that offers a Sunday worship service on the days I'm off. Contemplating quitting my job so I can find a Sunday church home. Im aware that worship should be 7 days a week "Regardless"!

I have often wondered why I am feeling 'each and everything this guy has bullet-pointed': anxiety, longsuffering, persecution, outright hate directed to me, etc. He just explained why. Because I am SUPPOSED to. My unwillingness/resistance to all of it is what has made me ill in the way that has transpired. Through it all, God is pleased. Ok then, I accept it. I don't like it, I don't have to like it. But patient endurance is being sown. Come soon, Lord, if it is your will, do not tarry. Amen, so be it.

Did Paul preach works? He to said you have to be obedient and your obedience must be perfected.. did Jesus preach works? He said only those who do the will of my Father in heaven will enter the kingdom.. in order to do the will of God we must be obedient we cannot be obedient if we're still owned by Satan
.but in Christ we've been purchased redeemed, we belong to God our lives are not our own ..we are now free to become what we were created to be and we must be obedient as the holy Spirit leads us on that path... It is not obedience to save yourself, it's obedience because we have been saved.. it's obedience out of love for our heavenly father and our savior
