Fascinating and enlightening discussion, thank you for sharing. I belive the childhood trauma I experienced did contribute to gut dysbiosis, benign tumours, thyroid nodules and B12 deficiency in my mid-life, but so did chronic work stress, alcohol, and imbalanced diet and poor sleep. All these factors are interconnected too. But of course, modern medicine would not accept this or even a diagnosis of leaky gut or dysbiosis. And so, we solider on and manage as best we can.

And the sad part of that is....that modern medicine has a ton of knowledge to be gained by understanding the processes of functional medicine. If it's expensive now....maybe it's because it's actually effective...and takes some work to completely understand the root causes and then therefore the steps to break out of patterns embedded in people's behaviours that continue decline. I'm also wondering from the get go whether this woman's understandings incorporate epigenetics and therefore why she has had the changes take place she has had. By knowing epigenetic are a thing....I think functional medicine could be the paradigm shift needed to embrace how epigenetic happens!!

Or maybe functional medicine can be integrated with western medicine....as the check up....go between we need as a complete wellness system understanding. Providing an everyday person can handle the information and understanding to implement its findings....and therefore follow it.

First off remove the stress even if you have to move out but don’t stay in on your own with your thoughts
Next eat a whole foods diet veg fruit meat nuts. No sugar No gluten No dairy No soy No eggs No nightshades and low fodmap foods.
Try this diet for 2 months then reintroduce foods one at a time and if you get any reaction then discard it and try again after maybe another 2 months
While doing all of this you should
      Sleep and Wake up early
Sleep at the same time and wake up at same time
As soon as you wake up fix your bed and do not go back to sleep
Try to Eat something first thing in the morning so blood sugar is not low
Do at least 20 mins exercise Any kind of exercise will help a lot mentally and physically
Watch vlogs and travel vlogs watch only positive stuff on UA-cam or tv
Keep busy by drawing painting puzzles just anything to get out of the thoughts
Avoid or delete any things that would bring back a memory of the bad times
Never be by yourself for too long that’s when it’s harder to stop thoughts
      Stay positive stay stress free
      Affirmations are really helpful
Hang a picture up for motivation to get back to where you want to be
It could be a picture of yourself when you was doing well
Don’t hold anger or resentment against anyone even if they’ve wronged you .if you hold it in your heart it only affects you
If you suffer from anxiety and it is worser when at home or family home then you move out and surround yourself with positive people, you might experience a bit of anxiety but it gets better the more you expose yourself to those situations but it is one where your body’s stress tolerance gets stronger in a good way by small releases of cortisol but that stress from your previous environment is a elevated and prolonged stress response where the adrenals get used to releasing so much cortisol the body then is used to that environment triggering that reaction which will not go away until you leave completely or take a long break away but I would avoid going back to that environment or I would take extra precautions and not let anything even have a chance to stress me out or give me anxiety

My grandmother had rheumatoid arthritis and I have antibodies for Sjogrens. I'm also sensitive to histamine food and I figured out after decades of research that eating a low histamine low carb diet I feel less hypoglycemic. My mom has borderline/ narcissistic tendencies
