Tom, fantastic explanation, one of your best. This game is really involved, big time point salad, really have to get deep into it to understand all the exit strategies and planning. It reminds me a bit Castles of Burgundy, a bit Puerto Rico.

Winter fair tiles are placed to the side of your board when taken, not on the winter fair space. A winter fair tile is only placed there if it is actually completed in winter, otherwise it is stacked into the season space in which it was completed. Edit: I see you corrected this later.
Did you have the correct action boards in the last season? I couldn't see the winter symbols? Also 'Martin' had the 3 player symbol on his, is that right?
I should have clarified actually - the Winter symbol is on the same space as the Autumn one, it's a little harder to see in the video but it's just to the right of the leaf. Also, the number of player symbols are just for initial setup, after that the player that claimed the country board in the previous round gets to choose which sides they want on show as long as the current season's symbol is showing
I mention the Character Edition in the other video - it comes with painted meeples and they're each holding a tool that corresponds to the same icon on the board for colourblind players
That's good, cause when you said you started with two orange keeples I immediately thought "Then why are there 3" I realized a few minutes later it was a green one.
Richard has commented though on BGG that there are no plans to re print the Character edition. He said as of 20/11/17 that he has a few copies left and you can contact him if you want a character edition.

I’ve been really struggling with the lay down action rules.
Looks like nice 2p, I think my head would be spinning with 4. Nice end game scoring , quick addition and score tracking!
