When smith got fired, I was thinking man I hope the steelers hire him. I was watching redzone during the season and Atlanta was moving the ball and they ran this one run play that was just well blocked and executed and this is at the height of the Canada protests and was thinking why dont we do that. So I was pumped when they hired him, maybe I willed that into existence that's how much I wanted him. LOL.
I just watched a game from 2002 between the steelers and tampa and the storyline was us being the bigger bully in that game. I guess warren sapp was running his mouth and the steelers smashed them in the mouth. Bettis pounded them. That was awesome to watch. I never saw that game. I have been catching alot of old games on youtube.
I think we really have a shot to have two 1000 yards RBs. He said 1100 plays roughly. I dont think we are throwing the ball 600 times, so that is going to be well over 500 rushing attempts so if najee and warrn can get 250+ each and average a very doable 4.4 YPC. I think that is very realistic.
If Arthur Smith can get this offense to run successful RB screens he should be a coach of the year candidate. I really like what I've been hearing from Arthur and being physical on offense
The RBs & TEs were already on the roster, but I think the draft fell perfectly for executing an Arthur Smith offense. Maybe GM Omar Khan is better in tune with Smith than his GM was in Atlanta.
With this year's schedule, I believe if the Steelers would've came into this season with last year's offensive scheme coach T would've been looking at his first losing season.
It's been obvious for 10 plus years that Mike Tomlin just doesn't have the expertise to create a championship team. The analysis of Mike Tomlin almost always talks about his intangibles like leadership, passion, knowledge of the game, meeting the standard, making more with less, blah, blah, blah anything and everything that cannot be measured. Mike Tomlin's playoff record, a tangible measure is 8-10. I feel bad for the new players and coaches that have to come in and make a difference. As long a Mike Tomlin is around, they won't be able to.
@@bernardcraft7379 Any offensive minded up and coming OC who is ready to be a head coach would be better than Mike Tomlin, who by virtue of his stubborn mediocracy is standing in the way of more deserving and younger coaches. Wrong again, Mike Tomlin is at most in the top 25. Remember that Mike Tomlin was a virtual unknown in 2007 at the age of 34 and without Bill Cowher's and legacy OC and DC coaches (who Mike Tomlin drove away) Mike would not have had any of the early successes that are attributed to him. Mike Tomlin is a fraud, own it.
Every head coach specializes more on one side of the ball over the other. Tomlin has always been a defensive coach while coaches like Reid have been offensive coaches. I do think that has a correlation to the Steelers' culture and leadership on defense that hasn't fallen off in his 17 years.
@@LockedOnSteelers this is a good debate. Maybe the nfl has changed more on offense than defense. Our energy with a def head coach didn’t allocate enough brainpower on offense, which is the diff in the playoff record. 🤷♂️

Why is Jones still working on the Right Side and Moore who is the weakest link still on the Left is mind boggling to me.
Improvement in the offense will get us to the top of north Afc❤😂😂🎉🎉🎉🎉😅😂❤
Russ & SB now or Jus maybe someday.
Owner Rooney makes the call.
RIP JERRY WEST

Name a coach you would rather have. Tomlinson is a top 5 coach, and he takes poor teams and makes them better.

Maybe Tomlin isn’t enough of a leader (expertise) for the offense as a head coach that has been the deficiency in the goal of the standard?
