The real test for snow tires on a RWD car. Go up a hill half way and come to a complete stop. Then continue to drive. If you don’t get stuck after stopping on an incline, then you have a great set of snow tires!
You can't beat a good set of winter tires. Not only do they help you accelerate, but shorten your stopping distances a lot. All vehicles should run winter tires, provided you live somewhere that gets snow in the winter.
I live in Minneapolis. And had an 1979 Olds 98. The big boat. When I brought the car for $350 it had Blizzak on them. Working at the airport I had a long drive to and from work. I lived in Columbia Heights. About 25 miles drive. I was coming home one night and was on 35w the winter before the 35w bridge collapse. But that car took those tight curve on 35W going toward Johnson st. Those tires was the truth. Now the bad. I didn't change them once spring it. By the time July got here. Those tires was no good. SO PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE take those tires off in warm weather. They are not made for warm temps. You talking about $1,000 set of tires if you get them from Walmart. I just look them up. They are not worth losing within a year. Go to a junk yard and find you a second set for the summer time.
Most safe configuration for winter ROAD driving: audi quatro fwd (or so) on studded tires Nokian Hakkapelitta. At the bottom of rating rwd on summer tires. Compromise is in between. Stupidly, studded tires are prohibited in some countries.
Can you link these tires? I can’t find winguards anywhere only thing that pops up is $700 on eBay, maybe they’re not so cheap anymore Atleast not the 275 40 19
If you feel the mustang still slipping, I would recommend it. But mine held up great & I don't use them anymore. You're just adding extra weight and gas consumption is higher with that extra weight. It's up to your descretion since only you know the feel of your mustang when you drive it.
i just moved to minnesota from florida & i have a 2014 mustang but people are saying its not worth getting snow tires bc its a rear wheel… did u have any issues all winter?
I would suggest winter tires for your mustang for sure. Minnesota gets a lot of snow. The rear wheel will fish tail on you. Very dangerous. You need winter tires because it's rear wheel. You will feel the difference. I had no issues with the winter tires on the mustang.I love them.
I have a set on my Mazda 3, they're called (Blizzak WS90), and there's the (dm-v2) research 'em both, you won't be disappointed. I live in Colorado, & they work very well.
Take traction control off .if you can keep over drive off you will get better grip. You car trying to go into overdrive at slow speeds will cause wheel spin.
I have Bridgestone Blizzak tires. Hands down worth every penny! Excellent tires!
Yes you're definitely right. Thanks for the visit.

Good point! But there's no hill on my town LOL.
Finally a real world video on a light rear wheel drive car. Great video.
Thank you! 👍

100 percent.
Yeah, my new Mazda AWD wasn't very impressive with the stock all season tires on the snow and ice, so I ordered some Blizzaks.
Just got these for my Mustang after sliding all over the place last winter lol. I put mine on beater rims though.
Nice! Do you notice a big difference?
@@jonahvlogsdiy4143 Put them on yesterday. No snow falls yet to test lol (Toronto, Ontario)
@@AndrewPersaud-h5whow'd winter driving with winter tires go in the gta?

Excellent advice! Great story. Yes I do take them off when the warn weather comes.
Great video as others has stated. I see a real review of mustang handling in the snow.
Thanks so much.

Put a couple sand bags in the trunk...you just said that.
Also a good cheaper alternative are the nexen winguard sport 2 I got some for my Ecoboost and they work great for only $120 a tire
Wow great price! Thanks for letting out viewers know.

I just bought a set of winters for my E46 BMW, which is RWD.
Awesome! You're ready for winter
Thank you for your review
No problem 👍. Hope my video helped.
Great review thank you. I have a 2010 Ford Mustang and I’ll be getting these for the winter.
You won't regret it. It was the best investment for the mustang.
Are they studded
Great video. Thanks for posting.
Thanks for watching Jim. Our pleasure.
How does it feel from stop going up a hill? Does it have problem with traction and making it up hills when there is no momentum?
Great question. We don't have steep hills in Windsor. A small incline is no problem but a 45degree? not sure..
Great video, nice job!
Thank you so much.
Great info, thank you
My pleasure! Thanks for watching.
Would putting on snow tires then also putting some sand bags or something in the back work even better?

How was going uphill? Does it make it through?
Unfortunately we have no hills in Windsor, Canada. But I'm sure it would make a hill.
@jonahvlogsdiy4143 I'm in Lower Mainland BC and the hilly terrain is a headache. Good to know by the way!

Yes you're right. It's the WS90. Awesome tires!

Good advice. I'll try it without traction control .

Correction they are 18inch square wheels

no I like driving it in the winter. I suggest winter tires for sure.
X5 as much yes we do 🇨🇦 😂😢😅
To be fair any car can drive in 1"-2" of snow 😂
Not a mustang.
Any car can drive in any snow. It's the people in general that can't drive.
