  • Theodore Tugboat - Digby's Disaster/All Quiet in the Big Harbor (August 1997 PBS Broadcast)
Recorded from TV in August 1997- thanks to Eric for supplying the tape!
When a big, new cable ship calls on The Big Harbor, all the tugs ignore the disaster-prone Digby until a slipped cable and a smart move show that everyone is useful. In the second story, Hank bravely pipes up to avoid an accident when the tugs almost take the Dispatcher's order to be quiet too seriously.
Additionally containing bumpers from PTV, Check It Out, Friends of Iowa and Fair '97.

Let’s not forget that Theodore Tugboat has also aired on North Texas’ long-gone secondary PBS station KDTN 2. Ahh, those were the good old days.

18:04 "Hello there, Tugboats!" someone roared. 18:07 [switch lights] It was Owan the Giant Oil Rig. "Sure is good to see you. Yes siree Bob!" shouted Owan in his lowd voice.
Actually, Owan always tells in the lowd voice, very, very lowd.
"Gonna be moving me to the repair yard, huh, Tugboats? Well, that's terrific! Tee-riffic"!
Owan's big voice bounced off the other side of the harbour, and rumbled right back to the tugs, just like thunder.
"I'd tried to tell you," said Hank to the tugs, "Owan is very..."
    "Allowed," frowned George.
18:40 "Say, what's everything whispering about?" yellowed Owan.
"The Dispatcher wants everyone to be quiet, Owan," Theodore said oddly, as the tugs set off.
"Ohh!" roared Owan, "Quiet. Well, that seems great. Great. Yes siree Bob! Nothing like a little peace and quiet."

@@alalahoward1299 I know the show originated in Canada silly but I just meant the network that it aired on back in 1997 was an Iowa network (even though PBS is worldwide but I guess every PBS station in the US is different so it made sense that it said Iowa PBS and that's where I currently live ya know).

    15:45 "Tug-of-War!" shouted Theodore.
All the tugs began pulling against each other with their tow ropes to see who was the strongest. Blowing their whistles and shouting as rude as they could.
"Can't pull me," George called out to Theodore and Hank.
"Can so," squealed Theodore with delight.
    "It's fun," called Emily.
    "It's fantastic," called Foduck.
    "It's noysy!"
    "Who said that?"
The tugs all looked around. It was the Dispatcher.
"You tugboats are too noysy," he repeated in a grumpy voice, "I was sleeping, but your allowdness woke me up! From now on, I would like everyone to be quiet!"
And with that, the Dispatcher went back to sleep.

19:09 "♪Ohh, let's all go down to this great chicken ground, there's nothing how you found like just squinch chicken sound♪"
Well, Hank just had to laugh. Owan wasn't trying to be so lowd, he just-- he just couldn't help on himself, and Hank couldn't help laughing.
"Hank," Theodore said oddly, "It's not funny!"
19:32 "Oops!" roared Owan, "Forgot to be quiet again. Well, from now on, I'll be as quiet as a sea cabbage. No. I'll be as quiet as a goldfish. Umm... a potato."

25:06 Sure enough, the Dispatcher was waiting for the tugs when they finished moving Owan.
"What was all that noyse?" he said.
"It was me, sir," said Hank, quietly.
"Why did you make that lowd noyse, Hank?" asked the Dispatcher.
"Well, Lily blowing her Dispatcher, Mr. Foghorn," Hank began. All his words caught in his throat again like he'd swallowed a bumper and everything came up funny.
Theodore floated forward. "I think," he began, "It was all because you told us you wanted everyone to be quiet."
"Right," said George, "Lily wasn't blowing her foghorn, so we almost bumped into Willie's island with Owan."
"Until he warned us away," added Theodore.
25:48 Well, when the Dispatcher heard this, his mustache shot straight out. "Oh, my goodness me. Oh yes, oh yes, I see. Ohh, well, I'm afraid this is all my fault."
The tugs were surprised, they didn't say anything.
And then, the Dispatcher said it an even more surprising thing. "Hank, I'm very proud of you. Good job."
"You were?" said Hank, "I mean, it was?"
"Ohh, it's important to do what I say all right," said the Dispatcher, "But sometimes, I don't always say the right thing."
    "You... don't?"
"No, I don't," continued the Dispatcher, "I didn't mean you should always be quiet. And I just lost my temper this morning when you were making that big noyse. I made a mistake, and I'm sorry. From now on, I'll try to be more careful about what I tell you to do."

Why didn’t the Harbour master wear both his official hat over top his ear muffs? Oh well this show is still fun, I wish it could of went longer and no I don’t think it would become 2021 Thomas because of the different ownership. even the first 5 classic series from both shows,
