Just in case you think that is because Max didn’t do well the first 6 races - be advised Max scored 136 points in those 6 race weekends including a DNF in Australia starting on pole - 4 wins, 2nd place, 2 sprint win & 3x FLAP.

I’d be shocked if Lando actually beats Max in Vegas. Max is living in his head rent free at this point and I don’t think he has Max’s kind of mentality where he can block out all the noise and just put in his best drive. What makes it harder for him is that the Ferrari will probably (on paper) be the best car in Vegas. If Lando somehow does put it on pole there, his string of bad race starts will really be put the test if you can remember how the start went for everyone last year. The REASON 2021 was so appealing, was that the two BEST drivers in the sport, were knocking the shit out of each other all year, scrapping (with Lewis admittedly getting away with FAR more nonsense), and driving their machines light years ahead of everyone else, including their teammates, with only each other to truly battle with. It came down to the final race. It shouldn't have, Max should have actually had it sewn up a race or 2 earlier had he not been taken out of multiple races by Mercedes. Nonetheless, it came down to the final race between 2 of the very best to ever do it. THATS what made it so compelling. Lewis had been dominating for years with a team that have him the best car every year. Max had been overachieving, in respects to his machinery, for years. We all knew that once RB closed the performance gap even a bit, that Max's superior skills and talent would translate in battles for wins. RB did that, and Max showcased brilliancy after brilliancy. Lewis did what he's always done, (which is INSANELY impressive without a doubt) he drove the car he was given as it's base level of performance race after race. Because that's where Lewis' greatness lies...his consistency. He will never overperform his car, that just isn't how he drives or it seems in his skill set, but the ability to drive it as specs indicate race after race is crazy amazing. So we had a showdown of the consistent champion vs the omega level talented young gun who was salivating for his first championship and was more than skilled enough to challenge for it. He has only managed to win by virtue of 2 things...McLaren being the best car on the grid without question and RB falling off a fucking cliff. Only the W11 was RB19 levels of dominance relative to the rest of the grid, but that was in a shortened season and Lewis also missed Sakhir due to covid. He still singlehandedly won the constructors for the team even with that handicap, same as Max 2023.

In 2021, Red Bull was slightly faster in the first third of the season, neck and neck in the second, but Mercedes pulled ahead in the final third. In 2021 Mercedes struggled because of the mandatory floor changes and they had crankshaft issues. Crankshafts take a longgggg time to make for these high performance engines and it took a while to realise and implement a fix. Which they then tested in Russell's Williams and Bottas Mercedes, all in order for Lewis not to have to take too many engine penalties. In terms of performance comparisons: from 2014-2016, Mercedes regularly led by 0.5s in qualifying with similar race win margins, also scoring more 1/2s. While Nico Rosberg is stronger than Pérez, Verstappen's consistency and the team's operational excellence make him more capable than Lewis over an entire season. Any driver benefit from a fast car, but some are more dependent on that than others, evidenced by Max's continued lead in the 2024 season with a 4th title looking very promising, despite Norris having the best car since Miami.

Let's not forget that Lando was shit talking lewis from him having that illegally fast mercedes couple of years ago. Mate Lewis was given the car and the whole mercedes team delivered, he could have won more, but lost to Roseberg and Verstappen first ever WDC, but nevertheless, we would go to every race and say that lewis won already. Then it come Max winning everything. He won the WDC amd WCC by himself. Perez could just sit and watch knowing that Max out scored whole f1 teams. Now it was Max turn, we could go to every race knowing that Max already won, and by miles. And till now most people think that, even with his car being third or fourth fastest at the moment. Now that Lando has a fast car, he chokes and claims it's luck. Put Hamilton in that mclaren, and he would have won the WDC, samething with Max amd Leclerc
If Lando doesn't score 3+ more points than Max in the next race the championship is over considering math, even with this results he will need to get max point in every remaining race (even the sprint) while Max can't score a single point for Lando to win the championship (it's already over)
