Believe me, these types of curses are hella real! Here in Nepal there was a famous story: Where gorakhnath in the form of a beggar tested King Prithvinarayan Shah and when he insulted the beggar, Gorakhnath cursed him saying his kingdom would end after the 11th king and its lineage would get wiped out. That came true when in 2001, our king's whole main family got massacred inside the palace and the 11th king died with the curse ending

We just study themas subjects and we cannot attach ourselves to those because we are already golf westernized inour manners and thoughts and beliefs by that time.

This is a different story. The locals say that Wodeyar killed Alamelamma’s husband by treachery - this is why she was able to curse him. She throws away her documents that the wodeyar king needed to make his conquest complete . She gave a curse and jumped into the river and gave up her life.
Even today she is respected a whole lot. It seems vijayanagar kings were much loved.

In India adoption is a legal ritual of continuing with the lineage and is prevalent among many kingdoms. But when the British came with their system of primogeniture, they usurped kingdoms as they didn’t recognize adoption and started their Doctrine of Lapse policy and took over many princely states by force. I feel so enraged by this forceful way of looting our wealth

You don't have to sound so dramatic .There definitely was a curse alright. Yet the Wodyers of Mysore have done great sacrifices for their subjects unlike any their contemporary monarchs. Karnataka & Bangalore is what it is today because of the strong economic foundation they had laid by pledging their ornaments & wealth. They are prospering & fortune would continue to bless them because of all the good karma done by their ancestors to this land of Karnataka & its people. Long live the Mysore Wodyers 🙏🌹❤️

Get your facts checked. dont create your own story. read the story that is carved in sri rangapatna. The other name of the viceroy was Ranga raya. The story is that, during 16th century the King Sri Ranga Raya, the ruler of Srirangapatna and an heir of Vijayanagara kingdom was a victim of an incurable disease. Hence the ruler undertook a pilgrimage to Talakadu hoping to be cured of his affliction. In order to make this journey, the ruler handed over the reins to his second wife Alamelu. Later when she heard the news that her husband is on deathbed and possibly could never return back to his capital, she decided to visit him during his last few days. Then inspite of knowing the weakness of ranga raya raja wodeyar still insisted on attacking them and killed ranga raya. which is like backstabbing earlier it was beileved that the king never attacks or wages war when his opponent is weak.
This raged alamelamma so much that she started hating raja wodeyar so much.
Alamelamma being a devotee of Sri Ranga Nayaki temple used to send all her jewels once in a year to Sri Ranga Nayaki to adorn with those jewels. Later the jewels would be returned to Alamelamma. Ever since the dynasty was retained by Mysore Maharajas. Once Raja Wadiyar desired to possess the jewels that were the property of Rani given for adorning the Goddess of Srirangapatna. Thus he being unable to obtain them and was eager to seize them at any pretext, the widow Alamelamma was harassed by him in one or the other way. he wanted to take complete control over everything (local folk also says that, Raja wodeyar wanted those jewels to be given as gift to his queen, so he lured alamelamma to give those jewels to decorate Devi Chamundi) Alamelamma who was so fond of her jewels did not want to directly hand over it to raja wodeyar instead she wanted to take lead and handle over with the jewels. This hurt the male ego of raja wodeyar who through his samanthas made a statement that "why do a widow like her needs such precious jewels"(ವಿಧವೆಗೇಕೆ ಶೃಂಗಾರ) Alamelamma vexed did send back his samanthas with a strong warning from her.
This raged him and levied his army and proceeded against Rani.
after hearing about it, Alamelamma thereupon sent her nose ring to Sri Ranga Nayaki and ran towrads cauvery. The soldiers were shocked by her and tried to stop her from jumping. Before jumping she said that "your King took my husband, my kingdom, my peace and power away from me, now he has eyed his wicked eyes on my jewels, which he will never get to his hands."
she jumped into the river Cauvery at a place called Malangi, keeping rest of her jewels tied up in a cloth.
after that soldiers did jump to look for her. they neither got her body nor even a piece of her jewellary.
this affected the kingdom so much for years they did not have any legal heirs. upon consulting pandits her statue was made and similar jewellery were designed till now wodeyar family never wears them.
moreover it is believed that wodeyars are not actually from south but instead two soldier brothers migrated from north and were appointed as caretakers of that province by vijayanagara empire. Wodeyars started gaining power when vijayanagara kingdom was getting weaker.
other than navaratri rest all what they do is not at all similar to south traditions. many times they follow north indian traditions.
And during the time of british Wodeyars were ready to give ಕಪ್ಪ ಕಾಣಿಕೆ, tribute and surrendering to britishers. hence hyder ali and tipu took falling kingdom into hands and saved mysore and wodeyars from britishers. wodeyars, kodavas, malabar nairs, mangloeran catholics joined hands with Britishers and helped in killing tipu sultan to regain the power.

@@saiii.000 It is considered a bad omen when a cat comes in front of you while you are starting from your house.
A sight of a widow when you are stepping out of your house is ominous.
If the right eye of a male twitches, something good/ favorable is about to happen. If the left eye twitches, you will hear something bad or something bad happens. It's the vice versa for females.
Dreams that you dream in the early morning come true.
If you or someone sneezes while you are heading out of a house, it's a bad sign.
Something bad happens to you if you stepover finger nails (it's called ‘daridram’). So, fingernails are usually cut outside the house and are collected and disposed.
Coming into contact with the sweeping end of a broomstick is an another type of ‘daridram' (prolonged period of bad times).
During any discussions, if someone around you sneezes, it adds veracity to the point you are making (it's called 'satyam' meaning true).
Sleeping during early hours of evening (around 6 pm) is bad for the house.
Also, goddess Lakshmi will be roaming during the evening hours. So you turn the lights on at the entrance to invite her.
There is a class of wish granting gods (called 'tathasthu devatalu') waiting to grant you wishes. So you should not say something bad (because they will be waiting to say 'tathasthu' meaning granted).
If a lizard falls on you, you are doomed unless you do some penance (by touching lizard shapes carved out of rocks on roofs of some famous temples).
Snake is a god and is very vengeful. You can pacify it through 'Sarpa dosha nivarana' if your horoscope says that a snake is awaiting revenge for some snake killing that you might have done knowingly or unknowingly either in this or your previous birth. Like wise there are many planets throwing an evil sight at you. Don't worry. There is a remedy for everything.
Right foot is considered good while left foot is ominous. Especially newly Wed couple while entering the house for the first time, step in with their right foot.
Even number of people are preferred while going for any marriage related discussion to the prospective in-laws house.
If a crow caws in the premises of your house, be prepared for a surprise visit by your relatives.
