- Chasing vintage rail speeders through The Valley that Changed The world. Rail Speeders also known as: section car, railway motor car, putt-putt, track-maintenance car, crew car, jigger, trike, quad, trolley, inspection car, or draisine were track maintenance cars used to allow crews to travel to and from worksites along railways. Motor powered rail speeders date back as early as 1896, however many in the early days were powered by man and known as handcar. Motorized speed cars became more popular in the early 1900's The speeders used this weekend aged anywhere from the 1940's up to around the 1980's. Trucks/Vehicles known as High Rails made railway speeders obsolete as they had lift away wheels to drive on the rails, but were also capable of travelling on the highway.

@@oldskooljoesdailyjoe3734 Yea they really are.
the night shots are awesome!
I believe they had a couple of breakdowns which led to them getting back somewhat later than they originally were going to, but it was awesome to catch them near dark.
Excellent video! They sure clip along! I may have had to tap my driver on the shoulder to slow down a bit! Haha!
LOL. Glad you enjoyed.
