This is chapter 2 of NCERT Geography Class 6 Textbook titled GLOBE: LATITUDES AND LONGITUDES. As the name suggests in this chapter we will be understanding the concept of latitudes and longitudes which are imaginary and by simultaneously deploying them we can know the exact place/location on the earth. We have talked about important latitudes like equator, tropic of capricorn, tropic of cancer, arctic circle and antarctic circle. On the basis of them we have known what is torrid zone, what is temperate zone and what is frigid zone. By deploying longitudes we have devised the method of knowing the time of a particular location. The important longitudes are Prime Meridian and International Date line.
