I began watching shortly after the start. I haven't sailed in 30 years or even followed sailing except for America's Cup. I would like you to cover technology of these boats... foils daggerboards, autopilots, boat layout, etc. Speeds are amazing to me!

Seeing those fleeting drone shots - 2 things come to mind, how the heck do you land the drone in those conditions, and please more footage of those rudders working to keep that boat tracking while managing those forces, amazing!
The power of these boats in rough water is incredible as to the hits they take one after another. Then you have to consider that only one person is doing this 24 hours a day for over 40 days around the world both navigating and fixing things all at the same time without break if something goes wrong like the one that suddenly went down and Le Cam had to save with others. It is not a joke or reality TV, it is The Real Thing.

Thank you for the fantastic videos, we love watching them every evening from Devon, UK . You are getting people addicted and dreaming. I have a question if you have read this far. Please could you explain some more about the different sails. How are the big downwind sails controlled? Manually or by auto systems? I've spent many many hours trying to keep a spinnaker or jennacker filled! It must be so tiring. Big respect to all the sailors and you for the vids! Andy
How often do the skippers do a rig check in the Southern Ocean? If they are going to be unable for an extended period, are there things they can do to reduce wear and tear on blocks, halyards, shrouds, locks, etc.?
I believe these are standard fixed icons. The Initiatives Coeur website tracker with the route prediction feature displays Sebastien at full speed. So, not only do the icons not reflect the true appearance of Seb's yacht but I don't think it will even take into consideration his reduced performance. Hope I'm mistaken about that.
Oh my gosh Conrad looks exhausted and I suspect he may have injured himself more than he's showing . He's reaction to the boat bashing looks like he's experiencing pain ??
He was injured near his eye. That could have been very serious. It doesn't appear that he's wearing a helmet and hope it's just that instance he took the video.
Do the non foilers get ranked differently in the end? I guess there is very littler chance for them to win the race, so what’s the actual Motivation to join in without a foil and therefore a disadvantage compared to the foiling boats?
I don't know about Florian but I already went out on a limb and called Charlie Dalin the winner despite it still being before the halfway point of the race. That is barring any unforeseen events that would cripple his boat, I cannot see anyone else catching up to him now that Sebastien lost a foil. I would not have called a winner this early if Sebastien hadn't broken his foil because he is still relatively close to Charlie. Now, he has little hope of catching let alone passing him.

Hi Florian, Sometimes I try to explain why I follow the Vendee and the outline is simpel, solo around the world yacht racing. After that it becomes more complicated to explain. Could you make a halfway race report for non sailors? The start, the Captains, boat types and generations, the route, weather and so on until the live report. Not officially, its all one classification. Unofficially we recognize the top non foilers too.
