Nice reaction. You already have good explanations for Sakura Gakuin. Su was the only 15 year old (this was early 2013, the school year or Nendo started in 2012) so she was the only girl graduating, although one other girl (the one who was behind Su and crying the most possibly) was leaving as well because she was from Hiroshima and the commute was very long plus she had been offered a modelling job I think.
Yui and Moa were still only 13 and had 2 more years with SG before their own graduation in 2015. They continued working with SG until then while also touring with BABYMETAL.
Su had been the student council president, so effectively leader of the group, for the year after the graduation of the first 3 girls to reach 15 the year before, so SG had been running for 3 years at this point, the girls had all grown very close and it was clear they would all miss Su being there with them after this.
Sakura Gakuin was a school-themed Idol group for girls ages 10-15 years old signed to the Amuse Talent Agency to expose them and teach them in all aspects of the entertainment industry. At 15 (the end of compulsory education, also how @onefive got their name) girls would transfer out to go on to whatever path they chose. Babymetal was an experimental sub-unit called the "Heavy Music Club" that was not expected to succeed and was initially provided no additional funding by Amuse.
Su was the only senior graduating that year, so this was really her show. Yui and Moa still had two more years in SG before they graduated and continued along with Su and Babymetal while still doing SG activities.
You can see Moa trying hard not to lose it completely as they did not know at this moment that Babymetal would be continuing on as a separate group (Su probably did, but MoiMoi did not).

It's a little confusing, but this performance is from late March of 2013.
That's the end of the 2012 Nendo, which is a business or academic year.
'My Graduation Toss' was written for Sakura Gakuin by Tomoko Kawasa (Tommy february6) and Shunsaku Okuda.
They were also the main creative force behind the group The Brilliant Green.
The same pair also brought us 'Heart no Hoshi'. This is (in my opinion), the best Sakura Gakuin song of all time.
BABYMETAL recorded their first song in late October of 2010 (six months after Sakura Gakuin began), so this graduation performance is quite a while after BABYMETAL's debut.
Su's first pro singing group was Karen Girl's.
She was the youngest member of that JPop trio, which ran from 2008 to 2009.
It was created tp provide theme songs for the anime 'Zettai Karen Children', known as 'Psychic Girl's Squad' in the West.
Their song 'Over The Future' has a great music video.
Every time i watch these SG videos, even though I've known better for over 7 years, I still can't get it in my head that they were already touring as Babymetal by this time. I keep thinking these were two separate events in time. 😅
@jeffschreifels8651 as far as I know, the only show they had performed outside of Japan up this point was the 2012 Anime Festival in Singapore.

@@AxeSwipe2011 I wasn't 100% about them touring but I thought they had at least done Singapore by that time. My main point was that Babymetal existed at basically the same time as SG but I still can't help but see them as separate.
@@jeffschreifels8651 I totally know what you mean. To me, is crazy to think about Yui and Moa crucifying Su at Legend 97, or facing 55,000 metalheads at Sonisphere, then coming back to do Mini Pati and general SG cute stuff
This song always gets me a bit emotional, especially in the full video where all the girls give their graduation speeches. Baby Moa is in tears as she delivers hers, visibly heartbroken over big sis Su leaving SG. Even though they were still performing together in BABYMETAL at the time, I don’t think they realized it would last.
Let me add something else, specifically Suzuka aka Su-metal, we got videos very far back in her career in entertainment, all the way to her at age 5 (she started at age 3)

I thought you might like Sakura Gakuin - they're really fun and produced some pretty good stuff. I love the MV "Heart no Hoshi" personally - playing spot Yui and Moa :P Great reactrion. Suzuka is pretty much the lead as she's one of the ones leaving.
plenty of SG explanations I guess - but they were a jpop group themed around "school" (all amazingly talented)- with all commensurate activities - such as music "clubs" - which is where BM was spawned, alongside several other SG groups. BM eventually split from them after Suzuka left SG at 15 (mandatory retirement age from the group & also school leaving age there) and they became independent.
Re. jpop vs kpop - VERY different - kpop is essentially MV based export music - Jpop is really only internal to Japan - and seems a little more....humane?
Enough to bring tears to a grown man's eyes, but that comes later when you hear the farewell speeches to Su

Su is tough, she can cry without crying. Moa on the other hand cried that whole time. That is just Moa being Moa. Yui cried right at the end.

Maybe one of Sakura Gakuin's worst vocal performances, but for obvious reasons.
Suzuka was the oldest and only one leaving because of it.
The oldest is also usually the leader of the group and she was the second leader, they were uncertain if that would work, but turns out her style was different but still they worked really well together.
you should react their message to Su Metal in the same event.
2012 was the year when Su finished Sakura Gakuin and the real Reason why Babymetal becameban independant Project under Amuse. Kobacwas simply able to demonstrate that thevgirls earned money. Sakura Gakuin dud not likevthis situation since they were always compared.
A bit evil was the fact that Koba already had rescued Babymetal while Yui and Su really thought that they might no longer meet Su. Koba was already busy to let Su be educated as a stage hand. She knew how a band looked from the perspective of a Star, and now she had to learn the technical side. He already saw her as the perfect Band Leader, but she had to learn howvhercdecissions influenced the Band as a whole. This was the reason why Sakura Gakuin no longer saw her as an Idol, but Koba did not care, hecwanted her as thecsinger anyway this had nothinf to do with Sakura Gakuin. Su was toldcpreviously that they must not cry. She was not finished for the day and especially Moa had her huge scene.
And Su was a member ofvthe original casting, before her thercwas no Sakura Gakuin.
Koba was simply correct with his assumptions. He had severe doubts about Sakura Gakuins handling of the Girls. In his opinion the truthbwas all the girls needed.
But he was not really better. His problem was Metalverse abd no suitable date to stand them on their own feet.

Good list! just FYI, Emily reacts exclusively to Girlgroups, so most of them will not make the cut.... if you do a suggestion of only Girlgroups, that would be very helpful. I kinda wish that Wagakki Band, at least, would make the cut as the women play a big part in the band, but rules are rules.
