- Outraged that the Holy Land is ruled by Saracens, knights from Europe have descended upon the Middle East in a series of Crusades. Now four European kingdoms have sprung up in the desert. The Saracen king, Saladin, rallies his troops in an attempt to drive back the invaders. In response to the European Crusades, the Saracens have organized a Jihad. In response to the European vileness, the once-cultured Saracens have become treacherous. But will it be enough to save their homeland?

Didn't you listen, Viper? The crusaders are attacking their trade routes!
ErkaaJ Dude, you need to take a chill pill.
9:30 "We'll cross the river later on" Yeah that's definitely a big river, the Red Sea.
Has light cavalry and camels in Feudal Age.
Cries about teal having one knight in Feudal.
Nice job, Viper
i know Im asking randomly but does anybody know of a tool to get back into an instagram account??
I was dumb forgot the login password. I appreciate any tips you can offer me
@Brysen Elian Instablaster ;)
@Darian Alejandro thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site on google and im waiting for the hacking stuff now.
Seems to take a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Darian Alejandro It worked and I now got access to my account again. Im so happy!
Thanks so much, you saved my ass !
@Brysen Elian you are welcome =)
Viper dude, the main part of this mission was the surprise attack by Reynald and cavaliers on your base, but you already had a navy and killed their transport :P
Oh no...
Oh my gosh! STAHP that :D its a bad meme and u should feel bad for that :D otherwise Great Job with the streams and UA-cam.. keep doin wacha doin, love ya. :)
also i played it on same version as you in vid and the only bug i noticed was that your allies are supposed to trade with each other, not you. and if you dont try to deffend them from the start they are supposed to get sherkt.. (no/less tribute for you then)
underrated comment, I like how nonchalantly he killed the "yolo transport" without realizing Reynald was in it
It is? I never got that when I played it.
master stroke again!
It is said in the storyline in introduction: some pirates from Renaud had attacked by the sea! The Viper has some special hate against heroes (I wonder why?)! (^_-)
They disapear (instead of showing their face and use) so easily, even when they MUST stay alive for his own victory! (^_-) Sorry, just to joke!
This is the bug people were talking about. Orange and yellow should trade with each other, instead of sending trade carts to your market.
Saladin was a kind and fair ruler, who when realising he had enough stone, killed hundreds of his own people.
kingfrederik lmao
😂😂
this is more historically accurate than it should be :D
He's a good person. he let everyone believe in different religions on jerusalem.
I've worked in the stone mines for years and my king finally has all the stone he needs I wonder what my next task to help the Empire will be. Saladin: Why are you still alive?
Saladin was like: Hey, I wanted to be in the campaign actually, but I was afraid I won't live if Viper's playing!
x)
Greedy (cowardly??) Bastard!!
Game decided not to give you hero units after that Joan's campaign final mission. ☺
He accostumed to play like normal games, i mean, lose tons of units and spamming units with his boom, but this is campaign, and he's #Clearly new
the game gave him no hero units because there were no hero units left the game *could* give him :p
ya'll are all wrong. the game decided upon his ELO rating, that snek does not need any heroes. in fact, snek only needs eco, and a few scouts, and he'll be fine 😁
after Joan campaign I don't think the game will allow you to control any heroes anymore :)
***** I'm kidding man. Actually there will be in Mongol campaign.
Please keep comments spoiler free our Viper actually read them :)
"spoilers" for a 20 year old campaign. lol
Frank Spencer which vyper hasn't played
Has 20 deer in his base but builds a mill next to the two berry bushes #clearlynoob
Steady on have you seen him playing multiplayer?

"Help, Chrusaders are attacking our trade routes!"
WHERE?!?!?!?????
There was actually one red crossbowman on the top of the map, you could see him at 34:19 and he was shooting an arrow every time the trade cart passed by him :D
There also was a war galley shooting at the yellow's dock and Viper just ignored it while he ran past it with his knights
Saladin be like #MaketheMiddleEastGreatAgain
It is bugged. In the original Age of Kings the trade carts go through the middle, and not to your market. But this is more realistic, if you think about it.
nope, you don't trade with a war camp in reality, you trade between two big towns like here (ghost town in fact here, but anyway, it's symbolic).
try telling that to Alamo +Marc De Douvan war camp :P (plus tons have traded with war camps and fortresses, how do you think they get res to fight??)
Frank Spencer: you think there are markets in war camp, where you can go "shopping", you geek?
Trading and get resources is not the same thing idiot!
Buy you a life or go out of your house sometimes to look at the real life: it would be good for you and your brain!
I bet that mommy goes shopping for you, to give you the possibility to play on game boy ALL the day long! (^_-)
Besides, even in aoe2 AND in this precise scenario, the res are given by a "clic" (symbolizing a simple gold gift, a chest, while a trade cart symbolizes a entire "caravan", like one unit symbolizes hundred humans at least (you think a nation like France or Germany goes only to 75 humans? But start to think, shit!)).
"Trading and get resources is not the same thing idiot!" Please refrain from such language.
"I bet that mommy goes shopping for you" I see you lack skills to discuss like a civil person.
NB: Markets are not always shopping centres.
I gave you examples, look them up. And insults on the internet with lack of grammar and debate structure, cool story 11
Some one had a bad day today? You think insults are worthy of this discussion. Mate learn how to discuss. But you are factually wrong about this anyway. There is no point in arguing. What is a point in not coming to a mutual understanding? So clam down and speak properly and we can continue, if not, your loss and you will lack this knowledge.
ps. Thank you for your worry on London. Your best comment so far. Otherwise, c'est le vie. I can parle vu french if you like :)
Since you keep asking during the videos; whenever somebody has units that are restricted to them either by being in the wrong age or wrong civilization, they simply start with those units. Once you kill the advanced units off, they won't be able to make more unless they age up. In the case of being the wrong civ, they won't be able to make more at all.
In the final Joan of Arc mission you might have observed the enemy had tons of siege Onagers, but eventually started sending mangonels instead.
Yep just like the good old map editor.
Plays as Saladin, one of the most generous and just emperors, who refuses to kill captured enemies.
Kills his own villagers because they "get in his way"
I mainly watched this for Viper's reaction to "Help, Crusaders are attacking our trade routes!" every 5 minutes
Aren't Medina and Aqaba supposed to trade with each other instead of trading with Viper? At least that's how I remember the mission
yeah ,,, thats the bug
Hey, viper. Keep in mind, The AI in this game is always programed to have one unit scouting the map. Most of the time this will be an actual scout unit but if the AI doesn't have one they will use the next thing best thing. So sometimes when you see a random archer or spearman walking across through your village or along side your army, that unit most likely isn't there to attack, that's the AI scout.
Yellow telling you he is being attacked and not trading is one of the bugs. But it doesnt really make a difference in the game.
how am I supposed to watch the stream and this video at the same time?
Get a second monitor.
only 2 monitors? if you don't have at least 4 your a noob in computing
With teal, I like to wall their gates and build a couple of towers behind them. Really slows them down.
Wonderful. I'm interested to see you do the next one, its a nice challenge that one. Your tactic with early aggression works really well and will keep doing that for AoK and AoC campaigns =)
if you waited a bit before attacking blue, he would land you with paladins in your base :) And the bug is that your allies trade with you instead of each other. Which is very inconsequential
actually he killed the transport that was carrying them without realizing it
6:45 wheRRRe?
That's some dedication viper!!!!
I love your "Oh Noes" don't stop lol
I think the guy shouting about trade routes being attacked is talking about teal getting ready to send out an army.
“Help! The crusaders are attacking our trade routes!”
the overdramatic trade route guy xD this gotta become a meme
Not enough "Oh noes" in this game #clearly
Heath, do you remember that Joan of Arc -- "Oh no" Edition of Viper? :)
Montage for Viper's reaction to the call for help, please
When I played this map as a kid, I simply stone-walled the trade route all the way from Medina to Aqaba :D #clearly good strategy to keep the crusaders away!
I palisade walled a corridor from yellow to orange through my base, so they would not be attacked at all... XD
The trade road of the AI's in this campain is "bugged" as in they dont take the road their supposed to take. origonally orange and yellow are supposed to only trade with eachother. which makes the trade road go through the red soldiers over and over you watch at, at the start. meaning they will lose alot more trade carts, so they supply you with less gold. (however you dont really need the gold, its more a roleplaying aspect. they do not get defeated if they lose all trade carts)
Im not 100% sure about this, but the bugg is most likely due to HD adopting more things of the userpatch, which includes sn-preferred-trade-distance. this will be put at a basic value, if not defined by the AI. (since all the campain AI's are older they do not have this "sn" adding this sn to the AI with a proper value for the map, would fix this issue)
so because of this bug viper receives no gold at all?
He did, the Ai's will still sling gold once they can sling 300. however since the AI's will now trade with vipers own market insted of eachothers the trade route will be alot shorter and therefor actualy take a bit longer before they have the needed gold to sling you. (longer trade routes generate a bit more gold) still. he probaly received more gold then he would have was the bugg not there, as he made no attempt early to clear out the red troops blocking the orignonal trading path.
Now I wanna replay this map!
"WHEEERE?!?!?" AHAHAHAH!
Viper the AI will always have a unit dedicated to scouting. So if you kill it they'll just send another unit, hence teal sacrificing archers that didn't fight back.
will u playin the forgotten empires campaigns too? some of them quite challengin, would be interestin how u approach them.
hehehe in the long... run. probably not an intentional pun but had me going
28:07 "Thats YOLO transport" It had Reynald on it D:
You are AMAZING!!
26:40 Hopefully the first and only time anyone deletes a monk on purpose...
This mission, while not the hardest is by far the most annoying. To this day I can't play it without saying shut up already
you can't stop saying oh no, it's your catch phrase!
Btw, since you asked, AoK campaigns use the AoK/AoC dataset, so you are stuck with that for the moment.
Funny fact for this one: if the allies lose all their carts you can send them resources (wood, gold) and they will build new ones.
damn u viper !
i remember spending 1 week in 1 campaign .and maybe moor !! u just misses all suprises and values of campaigns hehehe
''Dude, you need to take a chill pill.'' :p
When it says: "uploaded 50 secs ago".
then what
Marcus You feel badass
sweet
Please do Gengis Khan campagin after this, I remember getting stuck on that China Invasion level because the one player always build wonder very early in the game on the opposite side of the map.
I know it is still too far away to think about it but I recommend skipping the forgotten empires campaign because most of the levels you don't have a base and don't create units, you just move them around. If you like this kind of levels you can do it, but if you don't you can make those levels after the other campaigns. Anyway, it's up to you to decide. I love to watch you playing campaign levels because you don't know them, so everything is a surprise and I love your reactions. Keep it up :)
I Agree, the Forgotten Campaigns totally lost the special escense of AoE wich is, building up your base and conquering your enemie with your own created units, Forgotten campaigns are confusing, too long and boring and sometimes bugged, The only mission that I did wich actually I liked playig was the one of the King Cosroes of Persia, fighting the White Huns and the Turks (fucking forgotten studios made a stupid Scentient AI that gets angry when you take his gold..... totally outrageous).
Leonardo Sternberg 1st Alaric campaign is fine but 2nd yeah its weird.
The Indian campaign is in which version?
I found a few of the Battles of the Forgotten missions to be quite fun, especially Langshan Jiang, Bukhara and Bapheus. I really liked those missions. I very much look forward to seeing Viper try them out.
+Skonshis The Indian campaign is also in the forgotten right?
Q: why do you put down farms before you have exhausted the free resources like deer/fish?
Next Mission is bit of a challenge :)
Little did he know... The name will be associated with him for forever
So this is the castle rush strategy :D
In my game I destroyed Reynald's Raiders' base, but not until they resigned. Then while I was taking on the Pirates they resigned. I believe a castle I built in front of their base killed their last villager and that that triggered their resignation.
The thing that's very notable about this is that Viper's well-known multiplayer skills don't translate all that well to the campaigns. And there's 2 reasons why:
1. Campaign missions usually start with the enemy already built up while you aren't. So approaches like attacking right away don't work as well.
2. AIs can divide their attention infinitely, while his human opponents cannot. For example, the AI can micro all their units simultaneously, something a person can't do regardless of how good their APM is.
This one is tough
Next level will be...interesting. I'm curious as to how you'll approach it.
YahiroYamaha If you know what you're doing, the next one is easy, but if you don't; it's a headache
Not gonna lie, I got stuck on it for a long time...
I just spam make Monks in the southern base and convert Reynald and his knights and lol away.
U could always in campaigns keep ur enemy markets alive for trade. Generates a lot of gold
Docks, too. Though that can be more risky.
ROFL, everytime they state they are being attacked the camera moves to the attack, showing it with the explenation that it isn't happening. :P
So many streams, so many videos!
You can go fast and buil a wall in front the gates of teal. that will stop him for a time.
actually that river is also called red sea :p
Thank you for teaching me how to win
How often do the stream games get posted on youtube?
i am new to the game, it took me 3 hours until i lost, lmao. how the hell am i supposed to get siege for the blue team castle ? i cant build seige wokshop.
What would happen is u just wall teal in? Wou he escape with archer and skirms vs stone wall?
On 7:56 which upgrade we use so that we can see whole base of aqaba?
i usually get redemption and convert all the buildings they dont ever get heresy
I think there is some problem in triggers of these scenarios. In this scenario, on original aoe, cavaliers attack our base through transport. In the next, raynold and his army attack one of our bases in the beginning. Please play it on original aoe rather than on HD. :(
I should go to bed
Sees new Viper video
Nevermind #clearly
You have two allies and a market. Why are you not trading with them?
this was the most infuriating mission, findng all the ships and villagers.....
i able to finish joan of arc mission 2, until.. i get stuck on Saladin mission 5, i need help. Normal difficulty like play on hard ha. Cant wait to see it ha.
Your pronunciation is actually good of Arabic letter better than i expected.
Love you viper
24:42 I am coming for you, Saladin. Soon...
I just noticed: In this mission, teal is called "Reynald's Raiders". In Starcraft, the independent terran guys are called "Raynor's Raiders". And they are blue. Coincidence?
I think I remember blue transporting units over to the mainland (Arabia) in the CD-version, I'm not sure though. Does anyone remember that too?
Marcus Pontius he killed the transport at 27:00
Marcus Pontius or 28:00 :P
oh I did not notice
is this the easy mode? since when does the trade route go through our base, it used to in front of teal in AoK. also I used to landed so hard by blue in the original game with Cavaliers and onagers
My "OP" strat when I played this scenario for the fifth time: palisading a corridor from orange city to yellow city with a detour through my base, and some (locked) gates so I could attack teal.
But then, Reynald's pirates just gang-raped me when they landed...
It´s outrageous the lack of respect Viper has for his own villagers' lives. Just for a couple of pop slots. Sad.
just see the deleting part as him sending them to the archery/stables wth to become said paladin/man at arms he goes to build...voila viper is a king who does support education ;)
If I remember correctly, in this mission if they trade for long enough you actually get a hero unit that spawns near the top of the map. Only reason I remember this at all is because when I was younger this mission kicked my ass so many times, so I just walled off the coastal region and waited until I had enough boats and camels and everything else to win like a tsunami.
what hero?
I honestly don't remember. But I'm almost certain you get a hero after a long enough period of time.
It's actually an enemy hero. It is Reynauld de Chatillon, the man behind the raids during the treaty, and he spawned here, but Viper moved the mouse right when the game automatically moved to the area, and messed up the trigger :(
Ah, see I knew there was a hero that spawned there, I just didn't remember that it was the enemy hero. Still, it's a nice little hidden trigger :D
31:27
lol. get rekt"
The heck man.....when i played this scenario blue landed me with rams and cavaliers.... and i wasn't even playing on hard.... i call map hacks.
He sniped the transport :p even called it a YOLO transport
The ancestors of Raynor's Raiders
👌 perfect
You can kill Reynald (hero unit) in this mission and he will still appear in the next level.
bruh, i once converted him using 6 Monks when he appeared on the map!,,,
They are attack on the hidden side
Viper, if your Nordic schooling was a bit better, you'd know that this is a map of the Red Sea 11
is it just me or does it sound like raynor's raider
How about going full aggressive on one of the campaigns? Somewhat like a speedrun. It would make it more challenging.
eh, only really works if you've played it before and know what to expect.
LOL nice bit of rewriting history there.
is this definitive edition?
the bug has been fixed as of May 2019
Using war galley to beat war galley, genius
I cannot build siege weapons how did you get the battering ram?
I think we need a blacksmith to build a siege workshop
DE edition still bugged.
they tell you you get resources but i get jack shit. and knights keep rushing me as i try to shit out scouts. my only unit a few minutes in.
o here is the real kicker. i made sure i had villagers hiding like nomads nearly built a nice army suddenly yellow is like IM FUCKED
im like ok how? get this. a teal knight broke a wall headed straight for the town center. and single handedly took it down.
i was like HOW THE HELL. u damn pacifists.
you couldve sent 4 or 5 villagers to each of your allies and mill the sheep that spawn in from the trades completing their routes
also that male vil on the gold at 29:11 lol
Sheep spawning? Now that's a nice trigger to have.
Michael Pothoven not spawning, theres like 10 sheep outside of both the allies bases which end up just roaming the trade routes and switching who they belong to in a endless cycle. better to get them to our base early or just mill them inside allies base
TheTrojan Lawl I see. I've done that while playing that scenario, I was just making sure I hadn't missed anything, lol.
If Medina's trade units get attacked they'd say "Reynald is attacking our caravan!"
EDIT: Also I solve the trade attacks by dropping a castle on the route in front of the raiders' base, free gold slings with minimal effort :D
34:18 Didnt do anything anyways? Except attacking Aqabas Traderoutes
Where is Viper from?
Norway
