@@GalacticGazetteHQ Yeah, I know the story, a 30-year old story. There was a trial, confessions, medical reports and tons of evidence which proved Allen was innocent and never abused anyone. Not just that, some of the reports concluded that it was Mia Farrow who put those ideas into the girl's head. Even her older brother, who was present has repeatedly said that Farrow was a psychopath who psychologically abused most of her adopted kids, two of which actually committed suicide.
But you and many other people instead of reading all the evidence available, learn about the facts and then judge, just choose to condemn a guy based on nothing because you know what? you don't give a damn about the truth, you're stuck in an accussation with no foundation whatsoever and don't want to change your minds.
Some people are so stupid they even continue to say that he married his adoptive daughter or that he was a minor or that they lived in the same house as a family, none of which was ever true. Shame on all of you!

@@Gonzax Thank you for typing all that out. Some people like to believe the worst of others, maybe out of jealousy I'd say. And the way Woody's handled it has been nothing short of remarkable. He may be old and frail now, but, despite the nebbish persona he's crafted for the stage and screen, make no mistake: he is still one tough old dude.

      3. Allen refused to take a polygraph administered by the Connecticut state police. Instead, he took one from someone hired by his legal team. The Connecticut state police refused to accept the test as evidence. The state attorney, Frank Maco, says that Mia was never asked to take a lie-detector test during the investigation.

Coup de chance is another masterpiece by Woody, the master of cinema. The cast (Lou de Laâge, Melvin Poupaud, Niels Schneider, and Valérie Lemercier) is absolutely great, the script (Woody) is brilliant, the cinematography (Vittorio Storaro) is gorgeous, and the direction (Woody) is, as always, impecable. This is a movie about love, betrayal, control, and luck. Amazingly written and beautifully shot. A masterpiece (in French) with a flavour of the great French cinema from last century (Truffaut, Lelouch, Godard), with a bit of Hitchcock (you can actually spot a Hitchcock book lying on a shelf in one scene), and with a wonderful soundtrack (jazz from the 60s: Herbie Hancock's "Cantaloupe Island" and Nat Adderley). No explosions, plastic people or a 200MM budget; just absolutely pure excellent cinema. Bravo, Woody. You are the best! 10/10. 👋👋👋💕💗❤

. Allen subsequently lost four exhaustive court battles-a lawsuit, a disciplinary charge against the prosecutor, and two appeals-and was made to pay more than $1 million in Mia’s legal fees. Judge Elliott Wilk, the presiding judge in Allen’s custody suit against Farrow, concluded that there is “no credible evidence to support Mr. Allen’s contention that Ms. Farrow coached Dylan or that Ms. Farrow acted upon a desire for revenge against him for seducing Soo n-Yi.”

      6. Dylan’s claim of abuse was consistent with the testimony of three adults who were present that day. On the day of the alleged assault, a babysitter of a friend told police and gave sworn testimony that Allen and Dylan went missing for 15 or 20 minutes, while she was at the house. Another babysitter told police and also swore in court that on that same day, she saw Allen with his head on Dylan’s lap facing her body, while Dylan sat on a couch “staring vacantly in the direction of a television set.” A French tutor for the family told police and testified that that day she found Dylan was not wearing underpants under her sundress. The first babysitter also testified she did not tell Farrow that Allen and Dylan had gone missing until after Dylan made her statements. These sworn accounts contradict Moses Farrow’s recollection of that day in People magazine.

Whether Woody Allen is considered a "nice man" is a subjective question and can vary depending on individual opinions and perspectives. Woody Allen is a well-known filmmaker, actor, and comedian, but his personal life has been a subject of controversy and scrutiny.
In 1992, allegations of sexual abuse were made against Woody Allen by his adopted daughter, Dylan Farrow, which he has denied and not been convicted of. The allegations, legal investigations, and subsequent public discussions have divided public opinion.
Some people view Woody Allen as a talented filmmaker who has made significant contributions to the world of cinema, while others are critical of his personal behavior and find it difficult to separate his work from the allegations against him. Ultimately, whether someone considers Woody Allen a "nice man" or not is a matter of their own values, beliefs, and opinions.
you liking him and saying its ok says aloot about you?????

To all the people who are undecided please see some films with Diane Keaton as the female lead. Those are well written comedies. 5. In his 33-page decision, Judge Wilk found that Mr. Allen’s behavior toward Dylan was “grossly inappropriate and that measures must be taken to protect her.” The judge also recounts Farrow’s misgivings regarding Allen’s behavior toward Dylan from the time she was between two and three years old. According to the judge’s decision, Farrow told Allen, “You look at her [Dylan] in a sexual way. You fondled her . . . You don’t give her any breathing room. You look at her when she’s naked.”

Nice to see WoodyvAllen's PR team hard at work here. That said, genius or not, I can't dismiss the accusations that were made against him by Dylan. She is now an adult woman who has continued to stand by what she said as a child. Whatever happened to "believe all women". Is that not the case when you are a fanboy of someone's work? What solidified it for me was the nude pics that he had taken of his stepdaughter as a teen. Someone whom he had known since she was a child. The word "grooming" comes to mind. Don't care for Allen or his films.. and if this video hadn't come up in my feed I would never have actively loiked for it. But since it has, I am reminded of the above and will remind everyone else.

it's a messy situation. there are tons of indications to the contrary about what Dylan says and given that 3 decades ago TWO different investigations determined that Alllen had likely NOT molested Dylan, and it seems likely that the marital drama between Allen and Mia PROBABLY resulted in this accusation, it seems strange to continue beating the drum. There have never been any other accusations against the guy, besides him marrying Mia's adopted daughter, which everyone agrees is utterly weird, but that was, again, like 25 years ago and they're still together, it's not illegal, they have grown children of their own, so what is anyone going to do about it? nothing. who really cares at this point? he's one of the greatest living filmmakers we have. his effect on the culture, in tandem with the many people he collaborated with, and their subsequent influence on art through today is hard to overstate. it would definitely be a tragedy if he had done this to Dylan, but after 30 years, there's still not any more indication he did this than there was when he was cleared by the NY Department of Social Services who stated: "No credible evidence was found that the child named in this report has been abused or maltreated. This report has, therefore, been considered unfounded."

I'm not a big proponent of cancel culture, certainly not where it is frivolous, and I often argue for seperating art from the artist...but Woody Allen is an irredeemable monster. Full stop.
Do even a cursory bit of reasearch on this man , and the trail of trauma and misery he has wrought on his own family.
He might be a genius, but he has done too much evil to be redeemed by his art.

@@brothercaptainxuul784 As far as I understand it, cancel culture is based on cancelling people's status who no longer deserve plaudits because of their behaviour in their private life. 1) Giving plaudits for his movies is not the same as giving him plaudits for his private life (which I have no evidence of, just endless conspiracy theories and conjecture) and 2) It's a very modern obsession that celebrities should be role models, whereas I grew up in a world where I didn't know anything about the private lives of famous people like Woody Allen because they weren't scrutinised. I just love him for his movies.
Everyone thinks they are in a position from behind their computer keyboards to judge everyone. I am not one of them and I choose to have nothing to do with a self-righteous, comdemnatory culture that refuses to look itself in the mirror and endlessly blame public figures like Woody.

I'm right there with you on your Polanski take, but Allen's situation is far less absolute. Why are Allen's own accounts (not to mention the legal system which has exonerated him in lieu of any REAL evidence) not given any credence? Because he's a creepy old man and creepy old men do this kind of thing? I'm not even on his side necessarily---what he's accused of is obviously unforgivable---but it's clear that the conflicting stories will NEVER resolve, and that Allen's account of what happened has about as much weight behind it as those of his accusers. "pick a side" I guess, but I have yet to see or read anything that actually PROVES anything.
