That looks like fun! Mike's Ellijay Restaurant has great food - no plastic payments though. Copper Grill also good. The bear crossing - that's the way it goes, just turned off camera or can't get it on in time. Let the good times roll.
I have no problem with Mike's Ellijay Restaurant's no plastic policy. Help fight the war on cash. No need in them losing 3% of profit to the card companies when its already hard to make in the restaurant business. Glad you enjoyed and commented there is a lot more from last year that I haven't gotten to yet and already recording rides this year. Work in the way but it'll come please stick around.
@@Thinwateryeah, I don't have a problem with the policy either. just put it out there for others who might read comments and are riding through Ellijay.
Yes.... This is an awesome adventure, the Smokey MTN 500 is exactly why you bought your ADV bike ,i rode it on my Africa Twin back in September one of the best trips ever, i highly recommend going
I tend to tent sleep at Indian Boundary or Joyce Kilmer when on the Skyway (live 80 miles away), but the campground with cabins at Telico Plains is the recipe for raining nights....with a laundry to wash and dry, wet muddy clothes
I'm riding the SM 500 with a couple friends in October. I'm really looking forward to it. Thanks for a great video. BTW, I love that little Sherpa. Cool bike.
I'm not in the video, but my roads are. I can't believe they paved the parking lot at TWO! 😱 I used to ride the roads in N. GA every weekend before I left the US in 2021, now I'm missing my home, dang! I am currently in Mexico riding my 2023 Himalayan, "Hoss," great bikes aren’t they? I bought mine in July this year at Baxter Cycle and rode it back to Mexico, and passed through Tennessee, Georgia, and Alabama on my way back, it was all stormy, and when it wasn’t, it was hot! 🥵 When did you shoot this?
@@Thinwater I hit Georgia around the third week of July. I was going to go ride the Dragon, then pass through Ga, stay at TWO, but the weather was so nasty coming in, I decided to just hightail it back. I even skipped camping after Georgia, it was so hot I couldn't sleep.
@@terrycavender Sorry for your luck, but you get to do other great riding I bet like Baja Peninsula. We'd love to do it just don't know about the border deal and not speaking Spanish.
@@Thinwater mostly it's been in the mountains around Oaxaca, I'm actually going tomorrow. I may do Baja at some point, it is hard to tell. I do know my old Hoss will be with me. 😁
I'm not in there but it's nice to see we have the same two bikes - A 2000 Super Sherpa and Himalayan! How did the Himalayan do? All good with the water crossings?
My channel if FULL of how the himalayan does. More water crossings than possibly any other Himalayan. at 44,000 miles roughly. Watch the Dirt Devil Owl Snot video
Great video. I enjoyed "riding along" from my dry couch!
I'm glad you rode along, thanks.
Great job guys! Has the tent dried yet? Lol. I can’t wait to ride that! Hoping to go in the spring. We should get a group up and go together!
@@autoenthusiast1 yes, our tents dried out. We stayed dry the whole time , went properly prepared.
Thank You for sharing. What a beautiful trip.
Thank you for watching

Love the dance moves around the 12 minute mark! Glad that I missed the moist dust.
I know you can ride the "moist dust", I think you just like to keep your bike clean.
If I tried those "dance moves", I'd be seeing a chiropractor!
@@rbrucerogers I think you're putting us on. you can do it.
@@Thinwater 😀I'll try it in private first.

I hope you caught it rain free.
That bear catch was awesome! Man all that rain! This was awesome, brought back good memories of our trip. 😊😊
I'm so glad ya'll watched it! I think ya'll did it better.
Loved the video buddy. I am hoping to do the Smoky 500 in the spring with my Himalayan.
We did the Trans America Trail in VA & TN and loved it.
Thank you very much! That Himalayan is a utility tool isn't it? I've enjoyed mine thoroughly.
Rode it the week after you guys and stayed in the same cabin at Cherohala according to the video. Good video and the bear was awesome. Nice Sherpa.
Thanks! I love that bike!
Those cabins fit the bill with a storm blowing in. Thanks for the comment, glad you enjoyed the video.

What an amazing place to ride.
Its pretty good! It didn't cover all the area has to offer.
OMG! Now it’s on my bucket list! Wow what a great adventure and ride, thanks for taking us along!
Thank you for watching, Merry Christmas! Where you starting from?
@@Thinwater I’m in Virginia Beach. It will be e a bit of a trek but is doable!
Nice to see a SS finally getting used like it's supposed to. Most of them got strapped to r/v's and used 10 miles a year.
Thats good for the people that know what they are when they turn up used!

Look like fun trip some of the places I know but where was day 4 the little cabin at ?
Cherohola Motorcycle Campground
Mcdonald cup still there🧐? 🙊
I've wondered that myself. Next time I'm in the area I will try to find out.
Not as of 7/4/2024, made it back through there and it was gone. I wish I'd put a sticker on it.
