- In this video, I find how many beacons you can build in Minecraft. The answer may surprise you.
Minecraft Beacons are structures used to give players' status effects or used as decoration. They can be built out of different blocks, and even have different colors.
Channels such as WadZee and Shulkercraft have made great videos on full beacons, which inspired this video.
This video took an incredible amount of time in putting together, so I hope you enjoy it!

Thank you to everyone who watched this video! It took an incredibly long time to bring together, mainly for editing.
This style was definitely not easy to do, but I will try to stick to it :)
It is worth it
Hey can you take a look at this UA-camr Doni Bobes i think he fake stuff.
extremely good content
Im sorry but u wrong you had to do 16.777.216^235 septentrigintilion instant you used ×
Your calculations are so thorough that a teacher can easily grab it as an introductory video for the Fundamental Counting Principle haha but fr though, the editing in this looks so smooth and fluid. Nice content, Fizzy!!
I'm going to become a Minecraft Math teacher now, lolol

Great video, I would just argue that you also need to factor in the symmetries a square has in 2d, because an 3x3 square with each row being iron, gold and diamond would be the same as a 3x3 square with each row being diamond, gold and iron rotated 180 degrees. Either that or make a less ambiguous definition of what we are considering a "different beacon". And if you were to consider the symmetries you would also have to be careful to also factor in the fact that you can rotate the pyramid beacon as a hole and also do rotations to every layer separately (like a Rubik´s cube). As an end note I would add that it is possible to have several beacons on a singular pyramid (for example, you can have 2 beacons with a 4x3 base). Really enjoyed the video, made me think.

@@teknocanadian Thank you
@@teknocanadian No need mate, don't be toxic or call people names just because he is smart, he's not a nerd, just more intelligent, maybe I you took the time to read and understand this persons comment you could be 'just more intelligent' too.

The editing in this video is incredible! Keep up the great work!
thank you!
Lots of large and hard to comprehend numbers.. I love it!
Absolutely love your content so glad I found your channel
I am genuinely shocked. Great editing dude. remember to sleep sometime hahahah
Sleep is good, I can't lie. Will definitely do that tonight
@@FizzyBanger YOU EARNED IT MATE
Wooooow I'm a returning watcher and kinda forgot about the channel, the video looks fantastic great change up and maybe even over doing it, once you are comfortable with this style hopefully less difficult or maybe can get away with a slight time down ; D beautiful content!!!
Did you use your statistics class for this video? Awesome video!
yes! And also a bit of programming to make some of the 3d beacon graphs. Basically my entire first year of Uni was forced into this video lol
@@FizzyBanger Good use of your education 🤣
What about the height the world height is from -64 to 320 as of 1.18 you have to consider the amount of combinations up to build height with the glass colors. Unless I missed something and if I did tell me.
Yeah, the combinations of glass blocks stacked up to build limit would be extremely massive, considering there are 16 glass colors. For a single layer beacon built at bedrock level, you'd have to work out 16^382 (384 minus 2). As a cop out, I just went with sRGB colors, because the true number of colors is almost uncountable.
i wanted to comment that
Absolutely amazing! I was so bored today, and this is exatcly the kind of video i needed
this video was a FIZZY BANGER
Your channel is so underrated. Like it's really hard to find good minecraft content these days. Fizzy Banger = vsauce + minecraft + penguinz0
this is my favorite comment, I'd never expect to be compared with penguinz0 :^)
pretty cool video, you have potential to grow
Dude your content is so entertaining!
You're too underrated for your amazing work, I hope this channel blows up because you deserve it
Damn, I very impressed, you have earned a brand new subscriber
Awesome video bro ❤️❤️
This made my head hurt lmaooo. The editing is amazing though keep it up fizz bang (can I call you fizz bang)
fizz bang is a great nickname, I don't mind :-)
amazing video! you deserve more subs
aw thanks! glad you liked it :)
Your videos are such high quality I actually expected you to have atleast 1M subscribers, I’m sure you’ll be really popular in the future
thank you! that means a lot :)
Answering the questions we were too oblivious to even ask
you know it! :)
I'm calling it, this video will blow up
I don't think it will, but we'll see! :)
@@FizzyBanger tbh, idont know, but it has all the elements for a viral video
This can actually be more as I believe that ancient debris works as a beacon block
this is crazy! i love your content its so cool and i love watching it when im bored :D
Fizzy your SO underrated! keep up the epic work.
Beacons aren’t simple anymore…
(For once in my life, I actually knew the calculations for a video before actually watching it),
it's actually bigger because you can make like 10 layer beacons like you could do a beacon that starts from -64 and goes up to 319. and the combinations of these make it even bigger, so, the answer is both true and wrong
He’s going off the buffs that you get.
Yes it’s possible to have a beacon that large. But it doesn’t give any added buffs
Chemistry, physics,science?
Nah we need to know how many freaking beacons you can build
WadZee one week later: I built every possible Beacon in minecraft!
Congratulations on 20k
ayyy, thanks!
Oh wow awesome
You actually made math entertaining. As a reward, here's a virtual hug.
you really did vsauce this video
Subbed!
I was laughing watching this video the amount of combinations
you deserve more subs
i am not a big fan of numbers but this is a very high quality vid
Nice editing
thank you :))
I never knew that Minecraft would require math...
Anyways, I love this video!
And also, you need more subs and views.
agreed

Your videos are so underrated, the amount of work you put in a 6 minute video is incredible!
Ok
his videos are not underrated this one has 33,903 views and 1.6K likes
Block game has more combinations that the entire universe
Your videos are so good
Don't forget the beacon without a base, that adds one whole beacon to your total, completely throwing off your calculations
This man just compared the universe to Minecraft beacons I am shooketh
I only understood multiply at the end of this video, but cool
Ayy man your kinda blowing up
Me: Hey what do you do for a living?
Him: I figure out how many possible beacons there are in minecraft.
2:44 MAN! THAT A LOT OF NUMBERS!
EDIT!: 5:12 IT'S EVEN MORE NUMBERS!
another edit: 5:49 those are really small numbers
SUBBED LETS GOOOO
I’m subscribing for this
thanks :)
bruh my mind was blown multiple times
You ARE obsessed with beacons!
perhaps....
@@FizzyBanger bruh, I got a stroke reading the septilimillion or whatever XD
Thanks I finally killed the wither today, btw I subbed & This video helped me a lot.
Wot
Minecraft numbers are crazy to look at

Imagine all those wither fights
This is Blowing up. I called it

What’s next building a netherite beacon in survival minecraft
If enough people want it, I'll do it 😀
Calculations are shockingly simple: sum for each size of pyramid: (types)^(number of blocks). The levels are [9,25,49,81], the numbers are [9,34,83,162], the number of beacons will be 5^that ~ [2e6,6e23,1e58,2e113], and the sum of these is just the largest term again. A neat trick to approximate here is: 2^10~10^3, so 5^10~10^7; so 5^162~10^(16×7)×5^2~25e112
Ah i made a simple sum error with 83+81, but it's really cool that the approximations are all about right except for that x25 error
No wonder light is so slow to cross vast distances. The lag from all those particles must be insane.

How in the WORLD does this only have 50k views?! I was expecting to look down and see 2 MILLION!!
Imagine trying to build all of them in survival...
I subbed.
but what with the beacons with shared pyramid? does this count as combination of beacon or not?
when i first heard these crazy numbers i was shocked, like if u didnt know wut i was shocked abt u wouldve think i found the cure for cancer
i cried when you showed the glass blocks
so much numbers...........
I like it so much
Which calculator did you buy for this video! I need it for my MAFF Homework
What the?
So much beacons
Quick Maffs
Math, very educational
thank you :)
Really cool but quadroquitringtillion (final no) is smaller than septentriginnt- I’m not gonna try spell that but ye nice vid
This man is insane at math
Did the calculations account for the fact that some possible beacons are just versions of other beacons, but rotated? For example, an iron beacon with a single gold in one corner is the same as three other iron-with-one-gold beacons. With all the other stuff added, like the glass and power item, it's not much of a reduction, but it's still a sliiiight reduction.
I considered including those calculations in the video, but went against it to make a more watchable one. I didn't want to make ppl overly confused during the vid
As much as that number is incomprehensible, Fizzy, here is a challenge:
Just like how Shulkercraft did, calculate how many beacons are in Minecraft, but they can have as many layers as possible, (just remember that is a beacon is soo tall, you can’t have many glass layers on top of it due to world height),
that number would terrify me...
I honestly think if that happened, the number couldn’t fit the calculator :|
I like how you said 4 Septentringitillion.
Fun Fact: there’s a number called Quinquinquagintillion
your too good at math i get confused by your math because i totally suck at math
Whoah
My man forgot about the combined beacon towers. So actually the max amount of beacons are "the humongous number he showed at the end of the video multiplied by another huge number (I don't have the brain power or the patience to find it out). Cuz of the sixtuple beacons witch can give all effects and each beacon beam can have a different color. Think about that for a second. If someone manages to figure out the answer to that, please tell me.
Damn I knew it would be more then a few mil but holy
ahahah, yeah, I wouldn't recommend trying to build all of them. Might be a bit difficult :-)
I didn't understand math but i understand how many possibilities in beacons.
You can go even further
See if u make a beacon with 1 full layer and the 2nd layer will have only 1 block well thats a beacon so if u do likethat its like way bigger
You just teached me a whole chapter of maths in one video
MOM: no watching Minecraft go do your homework
me: I'm watching a math video tho xD
Oh god don’t tell the NFT bros
BUT THATS JUST A THEORY A GAME THEORY
Proceeds to rename the beacon
oh god :o
Funny words magic man
the observable universe number thing was about 40 tredecillion by the way :)
what
how many computers would you need to help that many beacons?
I built a beacon in my 1.18.1 survival world in the center of my city but i did it wrong so it is off center by one block and my city was built over water so changing it is hard as it is below the city
I- I don't think anyone's allowed to call minecraft limited..
You can have a beacon that looks like a block, with a plus laid down above it.
…
.
This is just like an AntVenom video.
This is just 40 less (in terms of exponents, the number, not the actual multiplication that the exponent means) than the number of chess moves, 10^120 possible.
You missed something a beacon can be hallow which pretty much means that the top layer can be made of 5 materials the rest can really be made using any block I don't know how many there are but there a LOT of blocks in MC and I'm pretty sure that the resulting number isn't even invented yet.
1? Besides mods-
oh… you meant that way…. never mind…….
Mojang has a big secret......
Technically limiting factors are Lava, Sand and Soulsand *shrug*
No matter what.
