Wow ! What a nice climb Erick! I never heard of this one before, so it's on my bucket list now.
WHAT!? This has your name ALL OVER IT!
Kudo's man! I used to love riding Mountain Rd but too many close encounters. Those 2 cars around that bend gave me goosebumps lol.
Ya I try to avoid NMR myself but these damn guys keep putting it on the route!! Both times I’ve been this year have been sketchy right at the tracks 🙃
I’ve been training high cadence for months on Zwift. I’m now happy to spin at 90-100 rpm on Zwift or outdoors without suffering the high heart rate that I was getting when I started working out at the higher RPM.
I’m getting segment PR’s almost every time I’m outside on the bike now using the higher cadence.
I def spin higher outside vs inside 😅
@@DontGetDroppedCycling Like me, you’re a big diesel 😉
More like a diesel lite 😅
Hey you were out in my neck of the woods. I've only tried this climb once so far, it's a tough one. Not my favorite because it's narrow and busy. DeWitt road has a lot more room. Did the climb at Thirty Road yesterday.
I think I did Thirty on this ride after hitting Niagara Falls and heading back to Oakville. If it was the one I was sooooo COOKED at that point that I was having my funeral up the climb. Then the Squad proceeded to smash across Ridge to New Mountain for 40min where we got a top 10 KOM and I nearly raged quit the ride and went home solo 😅😂🙃
hello my friend
Please share the information on what you used to collect the data and how you displayed it, please
Cadence it king for me, I normally ride in the 90's, as it gives me a better control over my energy utilisation over a long ride, but after the ride I ran a marathon.
I have recently changed to a short crank, which has increased my cadence, but also my heartrate. Personally i think short cranks are better when riding in a group, as it allows me to achieve better acceleration, when the speed changes regularly. Slightly longer cranks when I time trial over a long distance.
when I mountain bike higher cadence in a smaller gear keeps me going all day
I did make a change from what I have done most of my riding life, I changed to smaller front rings, wish I had done this years ago, it has opened up a wider range of gears that are available for me to use, this did take some time to adjust too.
I do lack that explosive sprint power I used to have or maybe that is my age
Some years ago I tried a lower cadence and push a bigger gear, this was not a natural; thing for me while a friend did about 85 rpm and could maintain a bigger gear and that worked well for him
anyway the data displayed and the software you used, please
Telemetry Overlay and there’s plenty of videos on UA-cam on how to use it from the creator of the software.
I was scared crapless coming down that hill… somehow it’s even scarier going up!!
Ya I've only gone down it a handful of times and it's def butt clenching going under the tracks!
@@DontGetDroppedCycling i was convinced my brake discs would give out coming down there pushing three bills. I probably could have welded them them together just by touching them at the bottom 🤣
That car 😮 coming around the corner
Yup I stained my bibs for sure on that one 🙃
so sad..... i dropped !!
Maybe Strength/weight ratio. Low body fat+high endurance=climb master.
Found out he's got nice fat 12sp Cassette with a 34 while I had a 30, Ryan def was
@@DontGetDroppedCycling probably explains the high cadence.
**orders a new cassette 😂
Steve is just like I will sacrifice the bpm for my legs the rest of you have stronger legs than Steve...Interesting video for sure with all those numbers.
Stevie ALWAYS flying up the kickers and climbs spinning a mile a minute. We are all trying to take a page out of his playbook!!
@@DontGetDroppedCycling Stevie is saving his legs that way, haha
Mountain Road Climb that's not even 5 minutes long? I feel you could attack that harder and sprint the end 😜 (sure i've seen you zwift holding over 400 for longer) KOM hunting.
I don’t think any climb in Ontario is more than a minute long 😂 This was in the middle of a 250k banger so had to save some matches. Def not getting any uphill KOMs IRL, need an ebike
