Great episode (as per usual). I think what makes Joel, Amy & Gill (JAG) such good commentators is that they're, first & foremost, fans of tennis in its entirety - past, present & future.
Thank you very much. Greatly appreciate your kind words.
Love the JAG nickname 😀
This show is getting better and better
We appreciate that.
I loved the trifecta! So interesting how different each are, not only in playing style and personality but also the way they have their coaching. It was fantastic to see Annacone answer your questions even if it was only for 9 minutes or so, and it was also special to me, since he coached Sampras for about 7 years and he could draw the comparison between Pete and Roger. Again Pete also a giant, going about his business differently 😉 thanks so much for the great content!!!
Thanks so much 🙏🏻
Pete was greater clutch then Fed ever was.
Congratulations guys, what a guest! Greetings from Argentina.
Thank you.
Buenos Días ☀️
Wonderful interview. Good to get some behind the scenes info on how Roger played, his thought process and how he navigated tennis.
Excellent! One of your best, Gill. So interesting.
Thank you.
Beautiful show, again!
Thanks 🙏🏻
Great interview, and I loved the ensuing conversation. And one thing Federer's fans should never underestimate is the Mirka Effect. If and when Roger makes his next comeback (may it be so!), it will be to a great extent because Mirka is in support of it and is there during every step of his recovery.
Sampras was joyless, that was his problem. His tennis was beautiful ergo entertaining, but Roger had fun as well and the exclamations of the crowd werent just bcos of his beautiful execution but of surprise. So many of his shots elicited gasps of incredulity.
Agree 💯
Hmm...Sampras was a deep introvert
Paul is a real gentleman
Severin is the fed coach that has been there forever, so he does have consistency, then he brings in outside voices
Why such a short interview with paul?!!!!
Click bait title, Paul is only in this for a few mins
I thought this is what Roger did to win the AO17 title? No? See clip - ua-cam.com/video/i0HhMg40YlE/v-deo.html
That was definitely the shot ⬅️🤚
IL might’ve had something to do with the idea to use it 👍
Those Eurosport videos are so cool.
@@amylundy8664 Yes, they are very cool, especially for tennis fans like myself to learn about the technical aspects of the game. It makes world of difference. I enjoyed this episode very much. The takeaway for me about Roger is that he is very coachable and he is open to hearing inputs from a range of people and not necessarily a limited and select group of people. Of course, his coaching team are the most important group but that he does not dismiss other opinions outright says a lot about his character. Just my 5 cents here. LOL
Lepi iza oblaka.... Roger Federer before Paul Atreides coaching
Federer's worst coach? 2010-2013 when Roger didn't win anything? imagine if Roger had won a lot more during that time, he'd be on 25 slams easy
What do you mean 2010-13 didnt win anything? He won 2 GSs, 5 Masters & 2 WTFs
2010 AO, Cincinnatti, Stockholm, Basel, WTFs
2011 Doha, Basel, Paris Bercy, WTFs
2012 Rotterdam, Dubai, IW, Madrid, Wimbledon, Cincinnatti
2013 Halle
No, Annacone stedied the sinking ship. Got him Wimbledon and back to #1. Federer was in free fall post 2009
@@lsb9073 I'm talking slams which what we're all talking about with big 3. 2 slams out of a potential 12 when he was still under or early 30s isn't good enough compared to Djoker or Nadal. No wonder Djokovic will take over the slam race.
Nadal = pusher.
