This is by far one of most beautiful animals frontier has ever made
The whiplash of zooming out from the Quetzalcoatlus to compare it to the Thanatosdrakon got me hospitalized.
Oh my - I did not realize how giant quetz is. That was bonkers to see

It goes to show just how oversized they’ve made the quetz especially since it was closer in size to a Thanatosdrakon in real life.
Thanatosdrakon is not accurately sized y'all.
Quetz is only oversized in the movie And even if quetz is still oversized in the game, Thanato is 100% undersized, it's supposed to be as tall as a giraffe but it clearly isn't.
@@Eeeeeee-sh2zn No, it and most of the other animals in this game are massively oversized. Irl it was as tall as a giraffe but in-game it is nearly as tall as Camarasaurus. Thanatosdrakon is much closer, although still shorter, than the size a real quetz should be.
@@Nrex117 my guy, thanatosdrakon is supposed to as tall as a giraffe. If that thing looks giraffe-sized to you then you must blind. Irl a human would barely be as tall as it's cloaca but in game the thing is barely twice the height of a human and barely larger than a geosternbergia. Does that thing look like something that would be able to fit a human in it's mouth to you? Stop pretending it's accurately sized because VERY CLEARLY isn't.
5:35 looks like Frontier got the sleeping animation of the Thanatosdrakon right, it doesn't break it's neck to the same degree as the Quetz does, unless they fixed that it.

I think we got this instead of Hatzegopteryx, maybe because the Hatze would be 1 odd to not have walking, and 2 look odd next to the oversized quetz. Honestly this thing is gorgeous and awesome, so Im ok with that. Even its pterosaur kill, its so mean. Like a really angry... they remind me of an aggressive bird, and I think its a pelican. Like mix that with a stork, and a dragon. And thats these guys.
Literally perfect model and skins, no notes.
Props to Frontier for going with a lesser known Azhdarchid instead of Hatzegopteryx.
I mean it's so fragmentary that the design basically looks like a slightly smaller Hatzegopteryx with a smaller crest

i was hoping maybe this surprise and random species would comes with it an update for the Quetzalcoatlus's rig that allow it to walk on land. but that didnt happen. hopefully it might be something they'll include in the alleged JWE3.

I think it's supposed to be a stretch for the Thanatosdrakon, but I agree that it looks like it ate blueberries, and it now needs to expel the berries as fast as possible. The Pilgor Kill is priceless. The Quetlz is too big for the Thanatosdrakon. Thanatosdrakon killing humans is priceless, and I'm glad you're willing to create this content for those of us who want to keep their parks rating pristine with no human deaths.

I actually avoided the Skin preivew for this and the Megalodon. because they're my favorite of the DLC I wanna be Surprised I wont do it for Microceratus and Segisaurus though.
Does anybody know a fix for a visual Bug. My lagoon water is full of squares. Its like you can see the sharp edges from the squares on the water surface. Anyone else have this?
These guys really are gorgeous. I love the feathering, love the coloration, and absolutely love the colors and patterns on the beak. Just absolutely beautiful. And definitely feels much more like a real animal than the Dominion Quetzalcoatlus (which is so ridiculously huge and definitely has more "movie monster" design elements). I really love these guys, they truly do feel like paleoart brought to life.
They reminds me of Phosphatodraco, an azhdarchid pterosaur which appeared in Prehistoric Planet season 1.

I feel like the Thanatosdrakon is trying to teach certain things how to fly, but if it fails it kills them though the human kill gave me that idea
Biggest wish for JWE 3 is for the air, sea and land dinosaurs to co-exist, interact and fight in a free landscape.
Land dino's that can swim, swim. Rivers feed waterfalls, lakes and the sea. All can form habitats for our dinos. As can mountains, caves possibly even villages, towns and cities.
How these are used and how dinos are contained is up to the user with more minecraft-esque freedom in the building, landscaping and park design.

The beak reminds me of Toucan Sam the Fruit Loops mascot.
It's just MAJESTIC, which is what all good azhdarchids should look like really.
I really wish that this of all things didn't use its feet to catch prey, but it's unfortunately inevitable considering the need to make it distinct from Quetzalcoatlus combined with the long legs.
10:00 eh kind of wasted potential for Velociraptor to leap and latch onto the entire body of Thanato and snap onto the nape and bring it down while riding it
I wonder if the Thanatosdrakon pick and drop human kill animation is inspired by that Mercenary who got carried off by a Pteranodon in Camp Cretaceous Season 5.

I mean… the average Quetzalcoatlus northropi was 18 feet or 5.5 meters tall (roughly the size of a giraffe) and the average Thanatosdrakon amaru was about 17-18 feet or 5.2~ meters tall (about the same size if not slightly smaller) so if anything the Thanatosdrakon is scaled down, rather than the Quetz being scaled up, as the Thanatosdrakon in the game is a max of 11-12 feet (if the average guest is between 5’9”-6’). So tall, but much shorter than the real life counterpart. Assuming that the Quetz in the game is indeed Quetzalcoatlus northropi and not Quetzalcoatlus lawsoni, which was shorter, roughly 11 feet tall, so actually about the right size for the in game Thanatosdrakon. I LIKE AZHDARCHIDS TOO MUCH OK

Ik they way oversized the quetz, but it’s shown that the wingspan of thanatos wasn’t much smaller than the quetz, granted it was definitely smaller. Anyways what I’m getting at is that I wish they made Thanatos like half the size of quetz and then allowed it to kill small carnivores, anc maybe, just maybe smaller medium sized dinosaurs
really wish they'd give pterosaurs walking animations mannnn, esp with a new azdarchid as good looking as this. fingers crossed JWE 3 finally lets them walk LOL

A part of me wishes it had the Prehistoric Planet hooooonk but its sounds are still great.

Honestly Thanatosdrakon is my fav animal of this pack, it is such a surprise, i would like Hatz more, but this is also fine it looks really good.

Utahraptor is in H Tier & that’s not small or cute or trustworthy, it’s a Bird of Prey the size of a Grizzly Bear.

Thanatosdrakon is not accurately sized at all. Quetz might be oversized in the movie but it's actually pretty close to the real size in game and regardless of Quetzal's size, Thanato is supposed to be as tall as a giraffe and you can't honestly tell me that looks giraffe-sized to you. I still love it but shouldn't be acting like it's size is correct when it clearly isn't.
