A sprawling Western that is without a doubt one of the greatest open-world games of all time. Red Dead Redemption 2 is a game of rare scope and even rarer quality. A beautiful ode to an ugly era; RDR2 combines Rockstar’s most authentic and lived-in open world ever with its most earnest storytelling to date, filling in the gaps with an astonishing array of deep systems and nearly endless emergent gameplay opportunities. Its slower pace allows us to binge on the world like a virtual museum but, when the lead starts flying, it puts the wild back in the west (and then some). Few games manage the level of uncompromising detail as Red Dead Redemption 2 does. To sum it all up. RDR2 is a technical marvel.
Rockstar be like "see the tears in their eyes"... Arthur Morgan is one of the best, well-written character, hands down. the last time i cried like a baby for a game character is when Lee died (Walking Dead season 1).
The Red Dead Redemption 2 is not Red Dead Redemption 2 in the epilogue. The game made itself itself because of Arthur. He is one of the few best protagonists in my videogame experince and I played some. I think this game DESERVES a game of the year award.
I think you forgot who you were playing as in the epilogue, pal, you were playing as the one and only John Marston, people view him as such an inferior character, it breaks my heart.
@@Spartanspark404 Agreed. People don't realize that you can have two different kinds of characters with two different narrative goals. They just think "Arthur changed more, therefore he's better written." They're both very well written for the types of stories they're written into.

Its been 3 years for the masterpeice
4 years and it still gets me
Just restart the game and enjoy Arthur Morgan
@@anthonysh2333 yeah you just feel a better connection with Arthur

I feel like it’s more painful, I tried replaying the game but knowing what’s gonna come in the future is just hurtful
But then you would have to see him pass away agein
Thats wut ima do
Ride into the sunset old feller
i could barely keep playing as John tbh...
i miss u Arthur, though, the good man finally won, for once
I made John look as similar as possible to Arthur so I'd cope better haha
I autosave midway though my gameplay so I reload it to play as Arthur again.
Ferretser bit creepy

No game has ever gotten this much emotion out of me. This game is truly a masterpiece
i havent cried like this in years.. im crying so hard right now... Arthur you will be missed.. you were like a father, a friend to me.. this is so sad i dont think i'll ever recover from this.. what a story what a masterpiece..
godbye Arthur my friend find peace
He has not been forgotten
He died with his boots on, doing what was right.
I hope I have the stones to do the same, when my time is up.
I’m not crying you’re crying
All rights
If you’re crying and you know it clap your hands..
I think this may go down as one of the greatest games in history. It has blown me away. It is truly a masterpiece. "You did your worst, you tried your best. Now it's time to rest." Rest well Arthur. Rest well old friend.
That moment when Mary is crying always gets me, I really wanted them to be together
Finished this game 6 months ago, still think about arthur/the gang and keep listening to the music. GOTY 2018 and one of the best games ever.
It's sad when you see the deer leaving which means arthur has left to rest in peace
i started sobbing when the high honour deer showed up...well not like i wasnt sobbing already
Since than I've felt a sort of bittersweet feeling everytime I've seen a deer in the game
Arthur earned his Redemption in the end... In a way I connected to him more than did John, not that I didn't cry when he died either. But John was already a good guy, he was a family man on the "good" side of the law in the first game. But Arthur was a bad guy who evetually found his true colours but in the end it was too late...
I really liked Arthur but still preferred John, mainly because I knew Arthur would die because he wasn’t in the first whereas I completely taken aback by Johns death
Rockstar gta v being assholes rockstar rdr1 & 2 you made us cry ps rockstar is a great gaming company they have made such great games in the past but nothing better than this rip Arthur Morgan u will be in our hearts forever
@@nayten0324 Same for me, RDRedemption felt like it came from nowhere and i didn't expect anything from it. And it is the main reason RDR2 even exist ofc. And by the time when you finished RDRedemption you just knew it had to be done in the way that R* did it, and it was perfection. "the circle had been fully closed" so to speak...
And concerning RDR2, Anybody well informed would've known that Arthur would die and by the time even before he was diagnosed if you checked the player status "wellbeing" after Ch.5/Guarma you could see he was sick and start to suspect R* would go down the "Doc Holliday route" with him, so not much of a surprise really
It's never too late for forgiveness.
This game teach me something, don't wait to do the right things , do it when you can or you will regret it ans you will try to get a redemption. Thanks you Arthur Morgan , rip to you my dear friend...
The line "You did your worst, you tried your best" it's so perfect because it fit's so well with Arthur, this song should have been played in the last moments of Arthur instead of "Unshaken"
When games become timeless arts
At least Arthur is free from any troubles it's actually amazing how much emotion a game can spark within you rockstar games really did amazing on this game

Because you're human. It's a good thing.
Why I am I crying?
“You did your worst, you tried your best” almost perfectly sums up Arthur at the end.
he went out fighting, TB didnt take him out at least. that last ride scene was beautiful, usually games are about action and victory, this one was about everything and every emotion you have
When John pulls the photo out of a young Mary & Arthur with Mary’s ring Arthur have him........🥺
Best fucking game ever, so many good memories, amazing ending, the only game that made me feel so much emotion, and it all felt so real. Rip Arthur Morgan
"When the time comes...you better run and don't look back. This is over." ~Arthur Morgan
I remember when we first found out we would be playing as Arthur Morgan. So many people were against it. Turned out to be all our number 1. RIP Boah.
2:42 Mary Linton looking at Arthur’s grave made me cry also Pearson looking at old gang photo
0:33 it transmits nostalgia and sadness at the same time
When Arthur died on my first play through of the game, I didn’t want to play anymore because I was sad.
I've teared up more times in remembering Arthur than any other game/character in my life. Good lord.
No other song from a video game can draw out such emotion.
Damn. I STILL cry every time I hear this song.
I've never felt so emotionally attached to a fictional character before. Literally makes me tear up.
when i finished the game i was watching the credit scenes and i was happy for everyone. "Oh john and Abigial got married" "theres Rains Falls. Wait is that an eagle? OMG Eagle Flies *tears start falling*" Then my head shot up as i heard the song. It relates to much with Arthur's story it hits.
I cried for a game this really Hit me hard.
"You're a good man Arthur"
Rockstar be like "see the tears in their eyes"...
Arthur Morgan is one of the best, well-written character, hands down. the last time i cried like a baby for a game character is when Lee died (Walking Dead season 1).
The 2 games will be in my hart
Rdr2: ,,You're my brother" ,,i know"
Star wars: ,,i love you" ,,i know"
One of these made me cry, and that was not Star Wars.
R.I.P. Arthur Morgan
“You did your worse you tried your best and now it’s time to rest”
Best part of the whole song and sums up Arthur’s story in a way
Those We Love
Don't Go Away
They Walk Beside Us
Every Day
Unseen, Unheard
But Always Near,
So Loved, So Missed
So Very Dear.
My Own Little Contribution To Arthur Morgan
"Thank You" Arthur to his horse
I know its 10 months of comment but i have a story to share. My horse died near the end of the game. First starting horse. In mission with driving a train with a couple of lovers fron two family. For some reason it got follow option and poor horse was fallowing a god damm train(cj could learn from him) anddied right before final station. I was devastated.
"Im fried"
Estoy atascado en la historia, no me dan ganas de continuarla... no es por que ya se como suceden o sucederán las cosas... si no por que no, quiero que sucedan...
Es tan triste ver como una "familia" se disuelve por malas decisiones...
Rockstar sin duda se ha superado totalmente en ese apartado....
I didn't cry when Arthur died.
The game literally took my heart and broke it that moment.
Which made me unable to cry.
The photo of young Arthur hit me when I first saw it in the game. Then this song and I cannot hold back tears.

"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness"
A little fun fact to brighten up the mood here a little!
At 2:45 , Roger Clark (Arthur) is actually playing Mary! They didn't have Julie Jesneck (Mary) in at that time, so Roger was asked to 'stand there and look sad'
Lol he was sad that his character died
Such a sad, yet beautiful song. "You did your worst, you tried your best, now it's time to rest". Someone make sure they play this at my funeral!
The feelings and the vibes arise after listening this song gets awesome. ❤️
The best character .. I all I ever knew was loyalty ...look where that got me - Arthur Morgan
I still miss Arthur after playing this game since 2018. .
I agree
Hands down, my favorite game of all time. Such a great storyline. I can’t believe that I didn’t want to play as Arthur when the game first came out.
This is how a tribute video should look like. Well done my friend.
Arthur Morgan the best character that has ever existed. I am 100% in agreement. I can not believe he dies. I still do not finish the game😢
I can never get through this song without at least shedding one tear.
