    Hi there from stoke on trent Another good video.i enjoy watching you dismantling and repairing your rover.good attention to details.i really like the rover p4s and p5s.i have a 1968 jaguar s type myself but if i hadn't i would definatley have a space for either one of these or a p4.keep up the good work.lookin forward to the next one.oh,enjoyed the rotary tool rebuild too.

      Thanks for your note - I really appreciate it. Strangely, if I didn't have a P5 I'd probably have a Jaguar - I've developed an unhealthy appreciation for the Mk X!

      I used to have a 420g in battleship grey.think it was called warrick grey.red leather interior.fabulous car.wish i never parted with it.the stype used to be me dads,passed to me when he passed away.its bin with us since 1987.he is one of the family.not perfect by any stretch but i love him.lookin forward to your next uploads .

    It would be good practice to add a filter to both lines at the fuel tank end. That reserve tap is probably not for the P5B.The old one can be refurbished for the price of a viton o ring readily available for a couple of quid. The route of the fuel pipe from the reserve to the engine looks wrong. It should pass over the chassis not under it. Careful with the fuel hose. There's a lot of fake stuff around and look for quality fuel injection hose to the latest specs.I enjoy your uploads but you're too quick to use remade overpriced stuff which is inferior to that originally installed.

      Hi, interested to know what’s your thinking for using fuel filters at the tank? Rover only fitted one at the engine block after the fuel pump, and I’ve not read of any problems with that setup. I’m actually very careful not use cheap replacements for things - the fuel tap is a NOS item that came sealed in period-correct Rover packaging and is identical to the original, and Gates fuel pipe is some the best available, expensive and rated for modern fuels, and bought direct from the importer, not off eBay. EBay is full of cheap stuff that I wouldn’t trust. Agree on the routing from the reserve tap to the engine, it seems wrong to me, so will be routed correctly when replaced.

      @@Mid-Century-Living when I replaced the lines on my own car, it was a simple matter to add a filter to both hoses very near the top of the tank. It's belt & braces but will collect any debris before it gets into the system especially as the tanks are now 50 years old. I used see through cleanable filters and after a year or so, I can see some small amounts of debris trapped in the main line filter. That's debris which would have reached the mechanical pump which I think is unfiltered. If you have a facet or similar, it probably has a built in filter already. Another advantage of clear filters in the boot end of the system is you can see at a glance whether fuel is being taken into each line and therefore is a diagnostic tool as well. The line from the reserve loops up to the left and is clipped to the edge of the transmission tunnel ledge. If you have a "throwaway" email, I could send you a pic. All the best.
