hi Rob just a question they have a darker coloured version on ryan swords as well made from 1095 steel folded says it can cut thru bone iron wire etc would that be deemed fully functional?
If its one of their 1095 katanas id definitely say its fully functional, mind you if the blade has a color finish that finish will wear with use, think of acid finishing on steel like gun bluing. I purchased a customized 1095 set and requested the katana edge to have a profile for a heavy cut, it is amazing suitable for anything I am willing to cut with it. Treat your sword well maintain it and you very well have a blade that will last a very long while. The 1095 steel is great stuff. Sometime in the next couple weeks Ill review my newish 1095 katana, ive been beating on it a few months now and am greatly pleased!
Great review! I have been looking for a cheaper brand that has excellent quallity and I think this may be it. Been looking at the new Sandai Kitetsu model and was wondering if this was a reputable buyer. The peice took me back seeing $260 when the closest I could find simmilar was upwards of $500. Deffinately cant hurt to get it!
Josh Hinzman They really DO offer excellent value! IMO you should choose from the IRON tsubas and specify that you want a razor sharp blade for cutting tamishigiri. Hey Robert thanks for the advice! I was wondering if youve bought any of their 1095 high carbon + folded steel series? I was checking it out and the sword I want looks magnificent but for $260 compared to some of the other anime replicas Ive seen that is very low for the quality and steel. I was wondering if you can fully disassemble the sword for cleaning or if that depepends on the model. The sword I want is the new version(2nd ryan model with beautiful hamon like anime) of the Sandai Kitetsu from One Piece
The katanas they offer can be fully disassembled just like a standard historical katana, The quality they offer is pretty surprising.

Josh, If your gun shy about putting alot of money out for a first purchase, try out one of their base models. Im very happy with my folded carbon steel customized katana!
