That would have been about 1996. I first learned of Air with their song All I Need with Beth Hirsh of their Moon Safari album back in 96. Then I went and seen Beth Orton live and she was wearing an Air Moon Safari T-Shirt, I picked up Beth's Trailer Park CD and her Best Bit EP CD maxi single and Moon Safari and took them all home and loved every note!!!!!!!
@@sethwetzel974 I learned about Air with their song All I need in about 2007. I had recently discovered Zero 7 before that and was on a mission for some more chill music. Air was the next best thing I found. Better late that never.
@@sethwetzel974I only recently discovered AIR this year and then I just saw them live this past Thursday in Detroit!🤯🫠❤️ Not sure how I missed them growing up, I’m into fat boy slim, The Crystal method, Moby, techno…..🤷♂️
Brixton academy. 2001. Drove flat out to get to the gig. Dumped the car, risked being towed away. Jumping up & down like it was an old warehouse do. What a night. Still got the t shirt. 😂 love 2 all me sprogs. xx
Sublime and utterly gorgeous. Absolute masters of their art form. I adore all of Air's album's, Laying in bed and let them take you away. Thanks Guillaume Delaperriere Studio
The opening track on Moon Safari. One of the greatest opening tracks to an album ever. That sound before the music kicks in - the rain, the sound of footsteps on concrete. This is a core memory.
This piece I's such a pause. I put it in between breakbot playlist where it is more lively and French house and then cue the next track, Air just starts and just gives you a nice fresh air of downtempo of the same genre
Years ago when I was at an Air gig, after the show, I got to my car, whilst driving past stage door surprisingly Nicolas Godin climbs into the back of my car, we drive off through the crowd slowly, he asked what was the show like I said Pink Floyd in space, then he climbed out the car into the crowd, it was just me again lol great memory! nice guy.
I dont mean to be so off topic but does any of you know of a way to log back into an Instagram account?? I stupidly lost my login password. I appreciate any tricks you can give me!
@Colin Jose Thanks for your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm trying it out now. I see it takes a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
A masterpiece. The whole album is. Sadly, I can only listen to this album without my wife, as she deems Moon Safari as having a comnection with an ex of mine. So I only ever get to enjoy this on solo car journeys or with my headphones on.
perfect, I can just get my fender rhodes and play it along, everything is there except for the leads and it still is fantastic by itself. It holds up pretty well against the album version........Air, thanks!
Please sir, can I have some more? Moon Safari has been in my collection since it was released. Everything on it is a masterwork, but La Femme d'Argent and Kelly Watch the Stars are forever songs!
A beginner could pick the studio version of this up pretty easily. He jams more over the video. Don't be afraid to try it after a few short weeks if you do.
This is a masterpiece. To whom who accidently came across this music, enjoy. These guys are truly special and they mastered what good music is. Enjoy.
Came across these guys at work actually
yes they are
I hope they can get some more releases out and tour
@@markfromct2 theyre touring now. Im seeing them this tuesday!
@@rjzavala87 wow thanks
This is one of those songs I do not just play and listen to. When I play this song I prepare for journey.
I came home so high one night, turned on MTV and this was just starting. That´s how Air became part of my life...

I'm jealous of this experience. MTV was a generational one-of-a-kind. Cheers!
Masterpiece. Classic. One of the best lounge anthems of all times.
TOTALLY agreed sir Mario Great late night chill Peace🙏
The bass is out of this world. Almost af if you could ride it.
A friend lent me this CD back in 1998, and days later, I went out and bought the album... incredible.
The bass line is a masterpiece
Yep just love the way he bends those strings. When I first heard this I thought he was playing a fretless bass
La bella flat nylon coated strings.@@davidstickland3420
A stroke of genius.
I always imagine I am on a never ending escalator going up to the sky when I listen to this song
That's perfect!
Totally agreed sir
thats perfect
There's a war film with David Niven which perfectly confirms your imagination in pictures
...of course, that's a great idea too, I always flew with my eyes closed...and I still fly to this song...
So perfect. Makes multi-tracking seem like an innovation from 2350. Elegant and instinctual
For me this is a masterpiece of modern music. The bass is so beautiful and all other elements are there just riding along perfectly. Magic
This should have a million likes and a million views by now..

I HEARD IT FIRST WHEN I WAS 14...
AND OVER 20 YEARS LATER I STILL LOVE IT!!!
IT'S MY FAVORITE SONG OF ALL TIMES... 🥰
THX AIR FOR THIS MASTERPIECE!!! 🥳
I first heard this when I was 50 now I am 70 lol
This is so jazzy and retro yet sounds so much ahead of its time. I should see them on tour.

Per una French Band il pianoforte deve essere rigorosamente Pleyel. Chapeau!
This reminds me of my university time. After all the stress of final year projects, I would take a break and listen to this 😅
J'adore le jeu de basse 😍
Reminds me of better times. Love the bass line!
Why was it better when you listened to it before?
@@markfromct2you had it wrong. He associated the song with better times he had before
Beautiful memories. Thank you Air!!!
In that style of music sure...
Quarter of century old song.....still awesome
Cannot get enough of La Femme D’Argent….But never😊

Always admired that bass sound in this track. Now I see how much his style is indebted to Paul McCartney.... great stuff indeed
Peter Not sure Nicolas would agree
@@markfromct2 McCartney was the first to play bass with a pick? 😏
The moon safari album is just pure gold from start to finish
you see comemnts like this every day, but plesase return to Poland. I need more AIR!

I play this song everyday a few times ever since I discovered it, never tire of it ❤
Le morceau qui t'envoie dans la stratosphère.
I was so unbelievably young, and the first time in Paris - at night with this soundtrack. #1999

This sure is very pleasant. Visually and spiritually.

Have you ever eaten something good and then added a dash of salt and it became delicious? That is what this song does to my life; thank you, AIR!
I know there are a lot of ways to be cool, but for me, these guys are cool as hell. I love the aesthetic and music.
Wonderful. Thank you!
This music transports me back in time in the most amazing way.
Just love this piece of music. The electric piano just sounds so cool and slick.
Two geniuses.
This is the best version.
Une version plus vivante qui me plaît plus que celle de l’album.

hermoso y desconocido
Though it seems counter-intuitive, the key to obtaining this chill mode of playing, is having your cuffs and collar starched.
Yes man! I agree. There's nothing that beats a well starched collar with sharply creased sleeves.
Nice...
that groove is like a Brazilian Samba
performed by a 70s drum machine.
So thats how they make that mystical music?
I swear I’ve heard this in a movie or tv show but it’s not credited anywhere 😭
You've probably heard tracks from Zero 7 on House MD, who were clearly inspired by this album.
