You make it too hard to pick a favourite. You have too many great loco's to choose from. The turntable, the station looks great. Great attention to detail, love the gentleman sign. I have had to watch this a couple of times, as you have so much going on it is fantastic. Please keep up the great videos.
Thank you so very much! I really appreciate your praise 🙏🏼 the layout of definitely a work in progress so hopefully the only way is up haha. I’ve just posted a Goods Special too with a turntable demonstration so hopefully you’ll enjoy that as well ☺️
Hard not to fall in love with the A4's eh! Thanks though - Kingfisher was weathered by a friend of mine who runs Southern Railway Modelling on both UA-cam, Instagram and RMWeb - so make sure to go and check out his content cause he's suuuuuuper talented 🙌🏻
That was a great running session! loved your camera work, and of course, Toby! ^^ Ooh, if you're taking suggestions for vids, how bout a double/triple header special? could pair up fun and interesting duos to hall stuff, or bankers lol
Thanks a lot - it took quite a while to build the sets but I am super happy with how they've turned out. I've got all the time in the world for the GWR/ Western region too though!
Nice train compositions Ashley. Great filming. As a 'continental' model railroader I happily evolved far away from these 'tension lock couplings' - so ugly. There sure are more realistic close couplings. I prefer Kadee's for goods wagons. Easy for shunting. And Roco close coupling for passenger rakes. Makes a big difference and easy to swap in the NEM pockets. Hornby has similar as the Roco and I used them with success on a Mk1 rake. Happy model railroading & cheers, Filip
Thanks for the tip! I do need to get round to replacing all of my couplings at some point. I bought a rake of second hand GWR coaches a few years back that already had close couplings fitted and they do look glorious! So it’s on the (long) list of things to do 😄
Right?? I absolutely love an A4 in any livery but there really is just something special about it in the green with the gloss and the way it catches the light. Hornby did good eh! 😁
Hey I’ve been a follower to your Instagram for a while but some how had never visited your UA-cam channel until now ,you have an amazing collection I’m particularly fond of the j70 myself and I think yours is probably the closest I’ll ever get to seeing the real thing ,great video 👍
Thanks very much! The J70 was repainted and weathered by a friend of mine who runs Southern Railway Modelling on both UA-cam, Instagram and RMWeb - so make sure to go and check him and his über talent out 🙌🏻
Great running session, and loving the Toby cameo! Looking forward to the goods session. Would you ever do a tank engine special? I know you’ve got a few so would be great to see them take centre stage one day.
Thank you!! I just had to do a little bit for Toby 😁 and that’s a great idea - I can definitely get a tank engine gala together. Would be a nice way to introduce some of my non-LNER locos too 😄
Excellent channel and excellent video, very enjoyable watching. Have you ever looked at Ian Kirk OO LNER coach kits. I think Kirk did the cinema, hairdressing and other unique coaches (restaurant triplet set). The tumble home on his coaches is excellent - the (expensive) Hornby coaches are rather straight sided? Not sure who makes the Kirk coaches now, but worth a little research... Kind regards Simon
Oh that’s a great shout! I would love to have the restaurant triple set for sure - would fit beautifully with my buffet cars! I’ll have to see whether there are any around for a good price - thanks for the tip and for your kind words!
@@LNER_Steam had the pleasure on Sunday of visiting my local steam railway and travelling on a train made of of 7 coaches 4 being LNER teak coaches, didn't realise how good they looked until I'd seen the real thing
Your face is very interesting! Another great video. Love LNER liveried locos with teak stock, sums up the 1930s. A brilliant book you should check out is LNER Passenger Trains and Formations. Very informative and an interesting read into how and why certain trains were made up the way they were
Ahh well thank you very much all round 😁 I’ll definitely look into that book - I could really do with getting to know my formations a little better. Thanks for the tip 😄
my favourite train/consist was between Mallard with the Dynamometer car? i think it's called, because it's so cool! and the other was the steam tram because RINGO!
Of course! I’ve had 4 of my A4’s renamed and renumbered (and weathered) by the incomparable Neville Grove. Check him out on UA-cam, Instagram and his website. I haven’t shown any of the four yet explicitly on UA-cam but you can see them on my Instagram account. I’ve had Union of South Africa, Commonwealth of Australia, Dominion of New Zealand and Dominion of Canada worked on by Neville Grove and once Empire of India is completed I’ll do a UA-cam special of the five together 😄 I cannot recommend Neville Grove enough!
What couplings are you using between the hornby gresley coaches. I can only fun a rake of seven maximum with the standard couplings without the rear coaches derailing on corners…. Would love to know if you had the same problems and have a solution.
Mallard looked sensational.Great session.
Thank you very much!! 😄😄
Awesome video! So annoyed I’ve only found it now. You have a great collection of A4’s and rolling stock - hope to see more videos in the future!

Love those Teaks!
There’s not a locomotive out there that doesn’t suit teak coaches - I’m sure of it 😄
My god, I’ve never seen so many a4s, and an impressive amount of coaches too!
Great video Ash - lots of lovely teak and apple green! Loved the “Toby” scene with Ringo - that must have taken some doing! 👌
Thanks Steve 😄 I really enjoy doing those stop motion shots especially when it’s set to the nostalgic tones of ol’ Ringo!
Nice to see another fan of A4’s! Weathered Kingfisher looks brilliant!

That is a good idea! I’ll have to add that to the list 😄 thanks for your comment and support!
Very enjoyable session, I imagine it took a lot of planning. Thank you! I am very impressed about all your carriages.
Thanks very much! It does take quite a while to set up but I absolutely love the filming aspect too - I’m just glad people like to view it 😄
Love your stop animation around 6 minutes Staring Steven, Bridget and a certain Fat Bastard! 🤣
Hahaha the very same 🤣 thanks too!
Great collection of LNER stock. One my favourite class of steam locos, the A4.
Nice layout... Nice filming.
Thanks very much! There’ll be no shortage of A4 content on this channel 😁
Just started collecting lner not sure what i am letting myself in for great videos good luck with your layout it is a passion.
Great running session! My layout is based in the Western Region/GWR but loving the teak LNER coaches!
Thanks a lot - it took quite a while to build the sets but I am super happy with how they've turned out. I've got all the time in the world for the GWR/ Western region too though!
I'm really envious of your teak coach collection
It took a hot minute (10 years or so) to collect but I have to say I’m pretty happy with the collection now 🙏🏼

I’ve got to say that A4 in lined apple green really is something special!

Nice video today thank you
Most welcome! And thanks very much for your comment 😄🙏🏼

A really lovely running session, you have an impressive collection of teak coaches
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it 😊 It’s definitely been a very satisfying goal to have achieved to have 11 teaks rattle behind an A4!

Oh they really are something else in person aren’t they! The way that the teak varnishes and weathers individually coach by coach - just wonderful
Another great video loving the turntable as always 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks very much!! Definitely stay tuned for next week’s Freight Special then as the turntable makes a much more impactful appearance 😁
Nice running session 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks very much 😄🙏🏼

@@LNER_Steam You're so welcome 😁
I wish I could have seen dominion of Canada running that's my favorite a4 overall amazing
Watched all 3, and looking forward to seeing your layout progress. Subscribed? Yes.
Thank you very much! It’s definitely been an exciting adventure over here on UA-cam so far 😄

That’s it! Dynamometer Car is correct 😄 it is a very impressive model from Rapido. But you can’t go wrong with a bit of TTTE eh!
A4 all the way. Love the Dynamometer car as well.
It’s a fantastic model isn’t it! Picked it up at the National Railway Museum too so it felt very fitting 😄
could you give me any advice on where to get my a4 renumberd and renamed?
