- This is my first "How-to" video. I was having a hard time finding instructions on how to remove the front seats from my 'new' JK.
I wanted to put new covers on the seats and make sure that everything was nice and tight. It just seemed easier to remove the seats to accomplish this.
I'm pretty pleased with the results, all things considered.
Hope this helps!
Thank you. I had no idea the bolt covers slide away after you popped them up. I would have ripped those things out if I hadn't seen you. You are the man!!!
Very welcome!
This video is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you and well done, sir.
I was facing the same issue with the bolts at the rear of the seat. Huge help, thank you!
Glad it helped. 😊
Thank you so much for this video! I bought a 2012 Wrangler and needed to remove the front seat. Very helpful!
That was most helpful. Thank you for making it.!!
Sweet! The anticipation was building as you finally removed the seat! You made it look easy, and thanks so much!😊
You're quite welcome. I was all atingle waiting for it to come out myself 😉
You’re right! There is not a lot of info for this!
Thank you!
Thanks for sharing this video. I have owned my 2012 JK for 12 years now and I had no idea you can shift the driver’s side seat up like that! I am a DIY kind of person so I make mods and work on my Jeep often. This will come in handy when I need to remove my driver’s side seat!
Great job on the video! Just what I’ve been looking for. 👍
Glad I could help!
Detailing my 2011 jeep today. Thank unfornthe refresher!
This is perfect for what i want to do. The carpet is ripped and EVERYTHING goes under it and i hate having to try to get stuff from out of it. I lost my keys down there. so im going to create a barrier between the sides of the seat.
I found the previous owners credit card. Unfortunately it was expired😂
Thank you Sir! Priceless info now that I am doing the deep cleaning of my 2016 Oscar Mike 2 door
I am just starting to deep cleaning on mine. Putting her up for the winter.
Thanks for saving me the trouble of going through 40 different jeep forums.😂😂 3:13
Yep thanks for posting this, just got a 14 rubicon and want to remove the seat to try and lower my brackets due to my size.
Thank YOU for this Video my Friend!!!
Super helpful!! Thank you !
Glad I could help!
Great video! Did you disconnect the battery for the airbags? I assume you don't need to, just double checking
Helpful vodeo. Did you disconnect battery before disconnecting the air bag socket?
No, I did not because my Jeep does not have side airbags. The only plug underneath there was for the seat belt notifier.
I should have mentioned that in the video.
@@westsidekendo all JKs come without side airbags?
@@Lrmrz94 JKs do not have side curtain airbags. I'm not sure if the newer JL ones do or not.
Edit... Apparently after September 1st 2017 all vehicles must have side curtain airbags now 🤷
Can you post a video of you doing removing the seat cover? That would be really helpful, or tell me where you fount the info to do that
I didn't record it, but this was very helpful : ua-cam.com/video/oJ8DD48r9dQ/v-deo.html
Thank you.
Thank you! 😊
Thanks sr.
I'm jealous, my bolts were so tight! My little adjustor for moving seat forward and backwards broke and I'm trying to figure out how to fix it by taking seat out or how to get a new bracket. But how'd you remove seatbelt?? I'm stuck at such a stupid part, I don't recognize that kind of bit.
Thanx! I managed with the driver's seat. The passenger side seat lever seems to be stuck. Am i doing something wrong?
You're probably going to have to use a bit of WD-40 or lubricant and a LOT of muscle. The passenger seat very rarely gets used so it is just stuck.
That's what happened with mine, anyway.
Thanks 🙂🫡
any other tips of pushing the driver seat up the extra inches to access that rear bolt? My seat wont budge!
It's kind of extreme, but put your jack underneath the lever in the back and crank it up very slowly. Make sure it is under the lift up lever and go very gently. If you start seeing the lift up lever start to bend, back off obviously. That would be my best advice. I'm just a backyard mechanic.
*I will not be held responsible for any damages that may occur 😬
Thanks!
