When I was little I found a big common snapping turtle digging a nest and laying eggs by a creek on a property my grandparents used to own, I watched the momma turtle lay her eggs bury the nest and watched the snapping turtle get back to the creek and swimming off, I never got to see the babies hatch but it was really cool watching her make her nest and lay her eggs, she never really snapped at me and I got to touch her shell before she swam off, it was an awesome experience
Im pretty sure common snapping turtles at least rarely snap at humans when out of the water they only snap when defending territory which when she was going from the nest to the creek she didnt have a territory to defend at that moment and definitely didnt see you as a predator

Yes loads of people mistake evolution for deformities suggested that humans are getting taller every generation and most kids over take their mother at and early age.
Well mutation is the second step towards evolution, wherein it can be initiated by either adaptation to new climate and its environment, or possibly the further improvement of its current suitable incarnation. I know right?! XD That has been happening a lot lately with all sorts of videos. They are trying to find out new ways to kill the mood or just make us mad
Snapping turtles: finally free. Stoopid hoomin keeping me in tiny box. Emily: awww I miss them already All turtles: you can always come back and visit us.
Yes. Snapping turtles of both species have very long tails for turtles. It’s one of the ways you can identify them. Their tail is usually just as long as their carapace (their shell).
I once took a snapper home, she was fully grown and my mother was surprised that she didn't try to bite me. My mother lives with a yard connected to a stream, so we just set her down over there. She didn't leave for three days... She laid her eggs in a section of the yard, so we put a setup to protect the eggs. They did hatch n' eventually left in the stream. We were good babysitters, which given that I brought her home, it was only fair. My mother loves animals, so she was more than happy to get a setup going for the eggs. (Just as a little edit: the snapper I found was from the other side of said stream, so she didn't move very far and theoretically could have swam up and laid eggs there on her own.)
Used to hatch thousands of turtle eggs at our old house , if we didn’t dig them up the ground would usually harden and the babies wouldn’t dig out mostly , now at the house we bought we have tons of titles coming up and digging nest in the fields we own , so now it’s just as fun to mark the clutches
@@dannikaS582 disciplinary beatings are necessary, spankings and the like all the way up to chanclas and wooden spoons, if you leave permanent marks or break your child's bones then it's too far, more people needed disciplinary beatings and spankings as kids.

I think the 2 mystery eggs are still good because when you touched the second one, I think I saw the baby move but I'm not sure ^^ I hope they'll make it still :)
I was like, "hmm wonder when those turtle eggs will hatch" And then yall posted! 1..2 UA-cam: wait you said you wanted 2 ads.. I mean ok! Also that little deformed one was probably because of the people throwing them around Hey yall thanks for the likes glad you liked my comment!
That is always a chance, but then again, even in wild populations with no human interference mutations and malformations happen :/ That's how genetics work and it sucks but there's nothing we can do. However I do hope Emily and Ed keep this little one as a pet instead of releasing it and allowing it to die purposely. Near headless nick got a second chance, do did Rex, Cheyenne and many more....why couldn't this bay get one too
@@noone9177 they did say they might cull the deformed baby... which honestly, depending on if the weird stuff outside was just egg yolk or also organs, or if the turtle even stays alive by itself i do think it could be a good teaching animal to show what might happen in nature but also when people mess with eggs (imo the reason for why most of those eggs went yellow is because people damaged them too much)
I've had a northern map that I raised from an egg which was also in a constrouction site. I've had him (his name is Geo) for about 5 or 6 years now and I love him so much.😊
Yeah! I think those ones are actually just younger eggs and will hatch much later, considering the movement we saw in that one and the good veins in the other one. I hope some of the other eggs will develop as well!
fun fact: there r actually five species of snapping turtles: two species from the genus of Macrochelys ( alligator snapping turtles) while there r actually three species of the genus Chelydra.
Wilhelm Tan I apologize, my inner grammar and spelling self can’t help it. Please change your ‘r’s to are. It’s not that hard, and makes comments easier to take seriously.
I have a story. So when I was swimming in a lake I was getting ready to get out and I felt something touching my foot I looked down and there was a SNAPPING TURTLE! I walked out of the water my dad came over and JUMPED OUT OF THE WATER AS FAST AS HE COULD. We had to go get are bout and get my mom. The weirdest time in that lake ever!
Actually it's expanded to 4 species. There is the Florida snapper, looks similar to the common but there is a difference, and the Swanee Aligator Snapper as well.
Hey, I wasn't sure where else to put this so it wouldn't get buried. Would it be possible to do a video on general care for large turtles like red-eared sliders and painted turtles? We're looking into getting a red-eared slider, and due to regulations in my state, it will be fully grown when we get it. A lot of my research online is really conflicting and I was wondering if you had any tips. There's no time limit on it, take as long as you need obviously. If anyone else in the comments has ideas on videos and articles to read, maybe you could link them?
My best advice is to make sure you have a large enough tank. A lot people try to squeeze animals into enclosures that are too small. There are often tanks on Let Go or Craig's List that are much cheaper than you find in stores. Also, turtles have a much more varied diet compared to snakes or lizards. Different food options are a great way to enrich their lives. I know my turtle Spike loves getting different meals. :)
Watching the release, I thought they all did a great job of adapting to their first experience with water deep enough to swim in. I know nothing of turtle development, but it looked like they were learning how to move and breathe in their new environment. You gave us ample proof that all baby animals, including snappers, are cute. Thanks guys.
Those babies definitely had an angel watching out for them and two human guardian angels in those girls!!1 If not for the girls they would have been destroyed in one way or another. If not for them having you to turn to and trusting you to do the right thing, the turtles would have no chance. Thank you, Ed and Emily, the two girls and their parents for listening to their kids and caring about what mattered to them! WOw a lot went in to those turtles making it to this point

Emily: were finally gonna find out what the mystery turtels are.. 3... 2...
AD: hiya friend!
same here lol
I know right?! XD That has been happening a lot lately with all sorts of videos. They are trying to find out new ways to kill the mood or just make us mad
Same tho I was gonna comment about this
The ad for me was for Invisalign, which was funny because egg toof
berppppp it was Invisalign for me too
Snapping turtles: finally free. Stoopid hoomin keeping me in tiny box.
Emily: awww I miss them already
All turtles: you can always come back and visit us.
Never dose
Do they keep that long tail?
Snake: small slit to slither out.
Turtle: someBODY ONCE TOLD ME!
Yes. Snapping turtles of both species have very long tails for turtles. It’s one of the ways you can identify them. Their tail is usually just as long as their carapace (their shell).
🤣🤣🤣
Is it just me or do you have that song memorized😂
I once took a snapper home, she was fully grown and my mother was surprised that she didn't try to bite me. My mother lives with a yard connected to a stream, so we just set her down over there. She didn't leave for three days... She laid her eggs in a section of the yard, so we put a setup to protect the eggs. They did hatch n' eventually left in the stream. We were good babysitters, which given that I brought her home, it was only fair. My mother loves animals, so she was more than happy to get a setup going for the eggs. (Just as a little edit: the snapper I found was from the other side of said stream, so she didn't move very far and theoretically could have swam up and laid eggs there on her own.)
aww cute!
Can we see Cheyenne more? She’s my favorite animal.
Edit: Maybe do a “Day in the Life of Cheyenne”
Lol me too
Gonna get dis to da top real quick
Yes, that would be amazing!
Srry but who is Cheyenne? oof

’Teenagers throwing around the eggs’ ???, what’s wrong with some people.
IKR! You have to be a very mean person to destroy baby eggs
some people didn't get beat enough as children
@@RichtorGroude1828 uhhhhh you shouldn’t beat children.
Can’t tell if your joking but...
If your parents beat you then your parents are horrible
@@dannikaS582 disciplinary beatings are necessary, spankings and the like all the way up to chanclas and wooden spoons, if you leave permanent marks or break your child's bones then it's too far, more people needed disciplinary beatings and spankings as kids.
@@RichtorGroude1828 these things are never the answer. You will be a horrible parent.
Emily: i’m gonna candle the eggs
Egg: Who turned on the lights!?
Lol
That’s 😆
Those kids are too danm cute. You don't find a lot of kids these day willing to help animals, or be caught outside. lol . Really happy the eggs were able to be saved.
Me: *excited to see the other species and gets closer to the screen to get a better look*

Omg I got the exact same ad

I swear I went, "Are you freaking serious??!!"
I think the 2 mystery eggs are still good because when you touched the second one, I think I saw the baby move but I'm not sure ^^
I hope they'll make it still :)
Yeah, it looked like it moved to me, too, so they could just be a larger species.
@@hellsingmongrel Or maybe some really tiny turtles who wanted a big room just for themselves ^^
It definitely moved!
Ed and Emily: "let's find out what the second species is in 3...2...
UA-cam: "let's give you TWO LONG ADS THAT YOU CANT SKIP in 3...2..1!"
I got an ad from a political party I dislike. Luckily it was skippable.
I got an ad for a mosquito repellent
I got 2 unskippable ads for food lion and dog food
The commercial I had was Red bull energy drink xD
I got an ad for spaghetti 😂 and one for shoes
I'm so proud of those girls, great job mayh and canan
I'm assuming the oblong eggs were the ones that the kids were throwing and that's why they mostly went bad. That or it was just a bad clutch.
Maybe they were older and more attached to the shell, and didn’t take to getting moved.
@@carnation969 Ya most likelt
When you candled the second big egg the turtle moved!!!!!
I was like, "hmm wonder when those turtle eggs will hatch"
And then yall posted!
1..2
UA-cam: wait you said you wanted 2 ads.. I mean ok!
Also that little deformed one was probably because of the people throwing them around
Hey yall thanks for the likes glad you liked my comment!
That is always a chance, but then again, even in wild populations with no human interference mutations and malformations happen :/
That's how genetics work and it sucks but there's nothing we can do. However I do hope Emily and Ed keep this little one as a pet instead of releasing it and allowing it to die purposely. Near headless nick got a second chance, do did Rex, Cheyenne and many more....why couldn't this bay get one too
@@noone9177 yep
Aw yeah I didn't think about that- that makes it the deformed one even more sad because it would've developed properly if it wasn't for the people
@@noone9177 I don't think they'd release it for it to die...culling it maybe their decision depending if it lives
@@noone9177 they did say they might cull the deformed baby... which honestly, depending on if the weird stuff outside was just egg yolk or also organs, or if the turtle even stays alive by itself
i do think it could be a good teaching animal to show what might happen in nature but also when people mess with eggs (imo the reason for why most of those eggs went yellow is because people damaged them too much)
I've had a northern map that I raised from an egg which was also in a constrouction site. I've had him (his name is Geo) for about 5 or 6 years now and I love him so much.😊
Emily: ok we’re going to see what the second species is! 3, 2, 1-

@Catherine Freytag That’s the truth!!
Did anyone else see the baby turtle move when Ed put his thumb on the egg the egg that they believe that aren’t going to hatch
11:34
Yeah! I think those ones are actually just younger eggs and will hatch much later, considering the movement we saw in that one and the good veins in the other one. I hope some of the other eggs will develop as well!
I saw that too!
It did move!
Emily: We're gonna make a second video for this.

fun fact: there r actually five species of snapping turtles: two species from the genus of Macrochelys ( alligator snapping turtles) while there r actually three species of the genus Chelydra.
I think she just said the the ones she said because they're native to where she lives

she already did that on her newest turtle rescue
I really recommend joining amino then joining a Reptile's amino. I'm in one and their care is AMAZING

*Chloe* :Am I A Joke to you?
Watching the release, I thought they all did a great job of adapting to their first experience with water deep enough to swim in. I know nothing of turtle development, but it looked like they were learning how to move and breathe in their new environment. You gave us ample proof that all baby animals, including snappers, are cute. Thanks guys.

The third species was a chicken.
