Hearts of Iron IV is a grand strategy wargame developed by Paradox Development Studio and published by Paradox Interactive. Released on June 6, 2016, it is the sequel to Hearts of Iron III and part of the Hearts of Iron series of grand strategy games focusing on World War II. Changing track does nothing for me. My right ear feels neglected
seems that only your speech is in mono, so might be an edit issue

Or maybe due to the universal speed limit that is danish bureaucracy, the message took approximately 2 hours to reach berlin, and another 2 to return a response to kopenhamn that they will be eating saurkraut for dinner.
Invasion began at 4:15 ish
So officially Denmark surrendered after 2 hours, which was agreed by the government and king so it would look better to end the war at 6:00. (So the Danes at least put up “some” kind of resistance they thought)
Due to radio/communication errors, some infantry forces remained fighting and put up resistance for a few hours.
And so they estimate it lasted about 6 hours.

You are all wrong. The invasion started when the Germans landed at Gedser at 03.55. They attacked the border at Kruså at 04.15. Copenhagen at 04.20. By 05.25 they had reached Amalienborg, and after 30 mins of heavy fighting, the Royal guard had to retreat towards Rosenborg barracks. So by 06.00 the King and the Government called for a Ceasefire.
Word of the ceasefire didn't reach all garrisons until 08.15, and when the government had been informed that all fighting had ended, they capitulated at 08.34, so after 4 hours and 29mins.

To make it look convincing and keep everyone distracted, they put out multiple time figures for when "denmark" surrendered. It was all a ploy by Hitler to allow the aliens onto earth, and secured an aliance with them. Later the aliens helped extract Hitler to argentina and then proceded to fund the cuban missle crisis.

Nice video, I just think that Christian X as a national spirit would aid historical Denmark with stab bonus and maybe more if they decide to revolt against the german overlord. It's ironic that Christian X isn't a national spirit in Denmark but is in their colony Iceland.

in my first game with arms against tyranny, denmark broke free from germany, declared on the axis and allies, and somehow actually held them all off. then they joined the comintern and started ww3
The best decision they ever did for this game was make it naval to cross those islands and not just standard land travel. It makes Denmark actually stronk as long as you prepare slightly for it
For the Danes, it wasn't just Schleswig-Holstien anymore.
Those who wonder why there is a constant discrepancy in the times between 2 and 6 hours of Denmark's surrender are due to the fact that the Germans informed their diplomats at 23:00 on April 8, 1940, while the first troop contact only took place at 04:00 on April 9, 1940. Denmark was promised territorial integrity and political independence if it signed the ultimatum to surrender by 05:30. Without a declaration of war, German units crossed the land border in southern Jutland at 4:15 am. At 4:25 a.m., Germans landed in the non-military ports of Middelfart, Nyborg, Korsør and Assens. In Gedser, a German troop used the regular ferry from Warnemünde to land. At 4:35 a.m., German paratroopers jumped south of Vordingborg and occupied the Storstrømsbroen bridge. A short time later, another jump took place to occupy Aalborg Airport. At 5:30 a.m., when the ultimatum expired, German aircraft bombed the Værløse military airfield. At 5:45 a.m., the emergency meeting of the cabinet members with King Christian X began. At 6 a.m., the King's adjutant ordered the troops to abandon the defense. At 6:20 a.m., the Ministry of Defense officially ordered the troops to cease resistance.This order reached the last fighting units at around 7 o'clock. During the occupation of Denmark, 17 Danish and 20 German soldiers were killed. The roll-out of the attack on Denmark thus began at 23:00 the previous evening, while the real fighting did not begin until 04:00 on April 9th. From a technical point of view, Denmark therefore ceased all combat operations after 2 hours; a total of 7 hours passed between the rolling out of the attack and the surrender. The 6 hours are therefore incorrect in any case.

Putting rockets on fighters is so underrated now. Effectively cheap CAS that can control the skies? Heck yes.
Only downside is having to start new air wings since the game doesn't seem to like you changing weaponry. But hey, its... something.

i am really confiused every time I play the new dlc and i've played at least 40 hours of it, the italians always die 1943 and germany has that new front and also they are doing case anton where they annex vichy france ervery time, i wonder why this didn't happen here

In 1940 Denmark was invaded by the Nazi forces, King Christian the 10th inevitably knew this was gonna happen, but as a Monarch he knew he could get some sort of agreement with Hitler. He watched the German bombers roam above the capital, Copenhagen, knowing damn well Hitler could destroy the city at any moment, but Hitler also knew Denmark wouldn't fight. And so they struck a deal, Germany would occupy Denmark, thereby controlling the Baltic sea, meanwhile Denmark and their people would remain safe from concentration camps and torture. Christian the 10th cared more about his people, than his nation.
But like this is better, this is what we should've done.

Sorry but they Danes actually fought the germans all the way up tp 8 hours before MAKING A PEACE AGREEMENT not surrender. And because of that Denmark kept its government which hoi4 devs dont understand and most of its freedom the only thing that changed was that there were German soldiers staged in Denmark.
