A co worker has the 2001 and is quite happy with it. Hyundai has come a long way since the pony. They keep improving every year. Reliablity is average up to 2005. Smart Move.
Stumbling across this video a few weeks played a HUGE part in my decision to buy a Santa Fe. I have a White one now. Just got it a few days ago. I LOVE IT. And I test drove the Tucson for good measure, but I loved the comfortable seating for the Santa Fe. I compared to the New Jeep Liberty Unlimited and the Santa Fe still came out on top. So I went and bought it. It's elegant and beautiful and is Huge on the inside but really quaint on the outside. Has just the right amount of Might. it Rocks.
I have a 2004 Santa Fe. It's been a fantastic car and has had fewer problems than my mom's Lexus RX. I can't wait to add one of these to my garage. :-)
I had a 2004 Santa Fe and I have to say that once I got my 2007 the difference was night and day! My buddy has a 2006 Pilot and the Santa Fe blows it out of the water, except in price he paid about 10,000 more than me and I have everything he does and more.
I just test drove the 2008 today and decided to buy one. I tested the Mazda Tribute too and there is no comparison. The Santa Fe ride is smooth, noiseless and it corners well. Good torque. Lots of room. My only complaint is the styling of the windshield in front makes the drivers head very close to the ceiling. And I'm short. It you're tall it could be a problem. It has that rounded Murano type styling which lessens visibility in my opinion. Still, I can live with it; it's a nice vehicle.
This was a car company I hated to the core for its nasty quality problems. But I am totally surprised on how far this company has grown up. My friend has a 07 Santa Fe and it rides like a dream. No problems at all, especially while considering the fact that he have been driving it twice a month from KY to NY for the last 8 months !! My next car is a Santa Fe !
I could say the same thing about a lot of cars, including most American brands. But in the real world, we vote with our limited personal supply of dollars and now that the quality has improved, the Hyundais offer a compelling product. Not to mention many of them are built in Alabama.
It doesnt matter, honestly it can be any suv. Just look for something with a wider wheel base if your worried. Cuz any suv especially raised will fit that complaint.
i like this car alot, simply because of its style, ride comfort and fuel efficiency. i'm wondering which is better, the toyota fortuner or the santa fe when it comes to ride and efficiency? i'd like to either from the one, and this question keeps buggin' me which one i'd choose. pls readers, can you help me with this? can you give me some tips? thanx for the reply!
Wow, I suppose you have been hidden under a rock for the past 4 years or so. Hyundai is #1 in quality for teh past few years. That's by numerous reviews and J.D. Power and Assos.
The Vehicle, 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe, 2.2 Crdi, 4WD manual-shift with 49,000Km on the clock. Experienced sudden loss of transmission, rattling sound and was not able to drive. Left stranded. Dealer (Hyundai Lanka) says the Flywheel has failed. Vehicle is outside of warranty and it's a two grand repair. Before this (around approximately 35000KM) the Primary and secondary clutch cylinders needed replacing and same was done with dealer. This was also an expensive repair.
i know!!!! there's a reason why there's the letter Y in hYundai... ammericans always say hundai, just as if the y was silent... i guess its just easier for them... w.e

We were in a crash a few weeks ago and totalled our 2004 Santa Fe. We are now driving a 2007 Santa Fe and we love it
This is going to be my first car--which is a major blessing and I am actually reeeeaaally impressed with it. I see more positive reviews negative
my granddad bought this car back in 2006, pretty soon it will be my car.

How did the Kia Sorento get the 3.5 & 3.8 V6s but Santa Fe only got the new 3.3 V6?

Best Hyundai so far and CRDi diesel version makes so much sense.
I have the 3.3 awd one. I know its not a real awd but people should know its actually good. Also the acceleration is suprising.
i bought hunday santa fi, and it's perfect in all sides
has anyone who owns this car tricked it out yet? For example high flow intake & exhaust, better shocks, tires, rims, sound system?

People should check 2005 Santa fe and see all the quality issues and their famous 40,000km engine brake up.

"only cars that can compete with Hyundai/Kia is Porsche"...that is the dumbest comment....
