- Опубліковано 28 лис 2024
- The Two Trees of Valinor lit the Middle-earth after the destruction of the Two Lamps and before the creation of the Sun and Moon. Their destruction led to much chaos throughout Arda. Thank you all so much for watching, I really hope you all enjoyed it! Let me know your thoughts about the Two Trees of the Valar in the comments. As always, a big thanks to the online artists whose visual works made this video possible! If you are one of the artists, please let me know and I will post your name and a link to your work in this description!

thankyou for you great work brother , i get chills watching your videos , i sense your sincerity and connection
Drawings of Melkor and Sauron look so awesome. I wish they make a movie with them looking the way they do on the drawings
You are awersome and i like your work. Tolkin would be proud on you
I always loved trees, and reading about them in LOTR made me happy.
This .. this .. must become a movie, you're presentation was excellent.
@@gerbennijland8149 what drugs were you on while writing this comment😄
Your wish is nearly becoming true :-)
@@niamhne8046 a series not a movie though
@@ringbearer1420 I tried to read the LOTR but found it difficult to read, yep I'm dumb, But PJ LOTR movie was an instant Classic. If the movie industry didn't bring this classic tale to screen, I was hoping some MODDER would do it .. yes, movie modding should be a thing.
@@RemusKingOfRome how can a modder do that those are for games
awesome video Yoystan of all the Tolkien channels on UA-cam yours is far superior than all the rest thanks for your hard work my friend
+manic mechanic "Thats right" ""Thatsright"--ZZ Top !!!! Dude the videos of Arachir Galadithirian i think his name is,are much better.
Well this dude is getting much better! So, it is a coin toss.In my opinion
manic mechanic ,I need new tie rods in my new Cadillac so I can put on my cheap sunglasses and drive nationwide, with a fine fox in the front ,and three more in the back.Meanwhile my old lady can dust my broom.
manic mechanic I need a tune upso I can drive my new Cadillac Nationwide, wearing my cheap sunglasses, with a fine fox in front and three more in the back. While I am gone my old lady can do some work and dust my broom!!
I have learned so much about Middle Earth and I love your timeline series.
I just can't help but think if the Valar were known to say Melkor is why we can't have nice things. He destroys the Lamps, he destroys some of the Elves, he destroys the Two Trees. Can't help but wonder if his influence in Middle Earth made Feanor the way he was.
Beautiful video Yoystan!!!! Ya know when I first read The Silmarillion and first read the part of the Creation of them I honestly was just so blow away and was in complete awe and amazement of how they were created and how Tolkien described their beauty and shape and appearance it would have been a great honor to see those trees and once when I went to sleep once not long after reading the Silmarillion (for like the 50th time XD) and I had a dream about me being a Noldor Elf and standing in front of the Trees and feeling pure peace and amazement of their indescribable light and appearance and sang a Queynan song of joy and light it was a dream I honestly never wanted to wake up from but anyway loved this video and can't wait for the next one!!!! :)
Luke Skywalker the 2nd you can see lots of parallels between the Silmarillion and Catholicism as you know Tolkien was a devout Catholic you can see how melkor is Satan and plagues the world but iluvatar like God allows it and has plans unknown even to the Ainur. It all ends a Dagor Dagorath.
Sacred knowledge was granted to you that night
You might consider that as a tiny tiny foretaste of Heaven. Cant wait for heaven.
Great comment
You saw through the eyes of another of yourselves. Behold, you got a glimpse of another of your lives. You are blessed to have stood in the light of the Two Trees. Greater blessed you are to have recalled this in this world that has been shorn of magic and wonder for countless lives of Men. May Gilthoniel and Elbereth guide you... 🌌🌟💫
It’s amazing how World’s can be created with just pen, and paper, and a dedicated imagination.
Wooo! Just discovered your channel recently and I've been loving it! Tolkien would be proud.
Dude I can't thank you enough for making these videos, they are amazing!!! Keep up the good work!!!
Nice work dude thanks
Who's here after the latest announcement?
Great work. You have done a good job and I hope you continue to do so!
Odin Knowledge Seeker Thank you!
Men of the West great job, I hope that the video on Utumno and Angband is just as good
Eru Illuvatar: Creates the Elves and puts them on the opposite side of Arda. "Here's good, nice and far away from those pandering Valar."
Valar: Find the Elves and decide to bring them to Valinor. "Ah, the Children of Eru Illuvatar. He must've put them here for us to find and bring back to Valinor, which is nowhere near Cuivienen."
Just saw the first image from the Amazon series and had to find out about the two trees. Awesome stuff.
I love you. There....I said it.
Hey man, love the video! Just wanted to comment on a pronunciation.
You said "Ainulindale" around @1:31 a bit incorrectly. Took me a second to realize what you meant. The word is Quenya, and so the "e" at the end is not silent, nor is the last "a" long (following English rules.) You could kinda think "Ainulindaleh." You got it in "Manwe," kinda like "Manway/Manweh." Same idea.
Also, more of an obnoxious nitpick, but the second "i" is pronounced more like a long "e" in English.
Keep the videos coming though!
i don't comment a lot but I just wanted to say that i really enjoy your videos. thank you for the great content.
J W1NDH4M Thank you! I really appreciate it!
This is probably my new favorite channel
yes, right on!..spoken with such clarity and portrayed so well..almost evokes more of my already existing hope of seeing more of Tolkiens works brought to film!
This series is really helping me, because I read the Silmarillion so many years ago and I have such a confusion. Thank you so much. :D
Can I just suggest captions of the long names you say appear on the vid as you say them? I wish I knew all of them but I'm just a LotR lore noob! Thanks for these awesome videos.
Alex Gomez that would be a really good idea and then beside them in ( ) is the phonic saying of the world as another way to teach people properly how to say them
When I was young, I first read the Silmarillion in 1977, I was amazed. I later became a person of letters studying much of the literature of man, nothing has come close to Tolkien's creation (in my humble opinion). Thank you so much for your research and insight, it has brought me back to the days of my youth. You videos are very entertaining.
Wonderful stuff Yorstan. Your summaries make Tolkien’s work easier to understand and appreciate!
I don’t know if you’ve explained previously but....
magha van and melon joist
What is this? Is it poor translation? Is it a greeting and your first name, I’m genuinely interested, love the show, best LOTR lore I’ve ever seen put together in my 39 years!!
I think he meant to say "Mae g'ovannen, mellon" which literally means "Well met, friend" in Sindarin (Language of the Grey Elves). Mae govannen (familiar) or Mae l'ovannen (formal) are equivalent to saying "Hello" or "Greetings."
Another great video, thank you so much. Do you not think that Melkor was just a soul that was misunderstood. Also without him and Sauron life there would be so boring, hence little was written after they left.
I remember Sam got a gift for his garden and he used it to make of the Shire a truly spectacular green place. I wish I had such a gift from Galadriel. The Mallorn Trees, and the Elanor and the Niphredil... it makes my head swim. Anyone would want a garden with trees like those.
Thank you for bringing the beauty of Tolkien's works to life! Loved this video!
Such great videos as always, looking forward to the next!!! Cheers
Marvelous!!!! I’m delighted to have such a concise explication of the Silmarillion.
You really make the legendarium come to life. Thank you!
I love your videos , keep it up!
Thank you! I will!
Very enjoyable hearing such a focused topic covered across such a long timeline:) thanks!!
Great video! But I believe the stars were made by Varda from the dew of the two trees. This was because the light of the trees didn’t quite reach Middle Earth and Varda wanted there to be more light for the coming of Eru’s children.
Little did she know, Eru would birth the Elves immediately after.
I just started listening to the hobbit novel, AWESOME!!!
Damn, dude. Your channel has really grown. It's awesome to such a great community flourish around your videos!
I believe that Feanor's mother didn't die, she was greatly weakened by his birth and she went to the undying lands. Great videos!!!!!
This is an excellent analysis that clarifies the history on this subject and enjoyed the graphics!
I find your outro very soothing
Awesome videos, thanks so much!!!! You are a kindred spirit ❤️❤️❤️❤️
What surprised me after reading the book again and again... *WHY THOSE FUCKING TREES were unguarded?!* And why elves and great powers were not celebrating under ?
I have always felt Tolkien's love for trees in his books. Could you make a video on the beautiful Mallorn trees of Lothlorien and any relation to the Great Trees?
Great video! Keep up the good work!!!
Everyone would think Melkor must have spent all those years of his defiance by devising plans, but it looks like he spent them pumping iron, making sure of keeping his chest shaved.
I'm sitting sculpting the Two Trees out of clay for my Uncle :) this video's been a great help in doing so :)
Great video, & please, keep up the great work!
Great use of images in this video essay, it really helps to follow along and enrich the story
ah at last! i have always waited for this video to be made! I always liked Laurelin and Telperion they seemed very interesting and pretty for me, Thanks Yoystan!
Love the video man, I'm learning so much and you've given me a whole new appreciation for these books.
Awesome video man keep up the great work! 👍👍
Aule actually made the two lamps, varda hallowed them, and manwe filled them, at least I think that is true. Amazing vid though, this one was very useful and interesting.😀😀😀
I may have missed your video on this subject but I would like you to present the Valar in their perspective niches within Tolkien's Middle-Earth lore, what things they created, and what influences they had on they inhabitants of Middle-Earth. Also a review of the Maiar that work with them could complete the talk. You do an excellent job in presenting Tolkien's work.
Make part three plz. I’m loving this series

The perfect channel doesn't exi-
Your videos are awesome! Keep up the good work!
i love your videos don’t stop !
The background music sounds like the prologue of a Legend of Zelda game.
I was always curious about the two trees thanks for the video
Ready for the next one!
this video quality makes my eyes feel good , the voice aint bad too
Great video!
Keep up with this good work!
Thank you soooo much for your videos.
my first tattoo is the two trees of Valinor. such a geek 🤣🤣
At least your tattoo is not common. It's unique.
Really enjoy this thank you
awesome video yoistan
I had just finished watching a cooking ASMR video and was a bit scared when I heard your greeting 😂😂
Hey Yoystan. I really like your work and i aprecciate what you do. I suppose it's somteimes hard to find what to do video about, even though Tolkien's fiction world is quite vast. If I may propose a subject for a video just to ease you up (and something which i would love to see of course). Maybe you can make a video on the elven kingdoms in Beleriand (you know such as Menegroth or Nargothrond, or Gondolin). Or a video about the valar, whoe they are and what were they best at. Those are just suggestions of course. I wrote this comment just to show that i really enjoy what you do and your videos are both educational and time killers for Middle-earth lovers, such as myself.
The most amazing history Talperion and Laurelin and the ancestors '' the Two Lamps of Valinor !'' Skyblue and high gold!
Wonder a world given light from two lamps and after two trees! Awesome. I've had lived there...!
Tolkien I love you! The best !
It has begun!
wasn't Luthien born after the Years of the Trees?
I think it would be cool if you did some theories the different places in Arta that are vaguely explained like the dark lands, harad or the east lands
The inland sea of Helcar isn't the great lake from the years of the lamp it's actually where the pillar of Helcar fell in fact it's likely the land of Mordor and it's surrounding mountains where created by the fall of the lamp and mount doom's fire could be be a remnant of the flame that once lit the lamp.
10/10 video series !
I have a question. Can elves leave valinor and sail back to middle Earth on purpose? Someone pls answers.
Great video! Did you play the shadow of Mordor games?
Ben Pilcher think he did a video on it.
At the beginning of the video you showed an image of arda, what are the 2 gates on the right and left sides of the map? They seem very important to me for some reason.
Logan Sanders The door of night and the gates of morning. They're supposed to be the passage that the moon and sun would take when the world was still flat. They also lead to the void where Morgoth was imprisoned. They were no longer needed after Eru reshaped the world to be round.
I fucking love this channel. So happy I found it. Long live the Tolkien legendarium!
Finally time for a rewatch. Btw i noticed my like on the video was missing, i fixed that . UA-cam nuf said
Beautifully told :)
right about time! i was waiting for new upload while watching peter jackson's adaptations.... keep it coming! XD
I know, very late question but what happened to the "I bid you stand! Men of the West!" said by Aragorn at the end of the videos? I liked it a lot, it thought it was cool. The last one was with the Khuzdul language of the dwarves video.
I always loved the story of the two trees.
Very good video, thank you
Great vid
Hi there! What was it that you said at the very beginning and what does it mean? There is another guy I follow that says the same thing at the start of all of his videos. I'm assuming it's elvish but I truly don't know. Thank you in advance!, Greg
Woahhh, the opening BGM sounds like it was mixed from the soundtrack of LucasArts' Afterlife.
Thanks again for such a great video expounding and explaining the the metatheological cosmologinality of TolkiensME.
please do in depth videos on EVERYTHING in this video.
Great video. A quick question, do you think the Arkenstone is Maedhros' Silmaril?
Wish someone will make a tv series of the years of trees and first age. Wanna hear what the Ainulindale sounds like. Thanks for the vid lad love your work!
Great video
I think you should do a video about the “dark elves”, or the ones who didn’t see the light of the two trees. That would be awesome. :)
Earth: Hey! I ever so slightly change my continents and land over hundreds of billions of years!
Arda: Pffft! Hold my beer.
+ Men of the West Where are you finding all this artwork??? I have alot of Ted Nasmith and Alan Lee. But you have way more!! please let me know where to get a hold of them.
Hey yoystan, just a quick question, do you/ have you play(ed) the lord of the rings lgc? If yeah what do you think of it
weren't the mallorn trees of lothlorien somehow related to the two trees and therefor the seed that sam gets from galadriel was also a descendant of them. Not sure about this... Someone knows?
Could you make a video about Durin?
These videos are great! Maybe we could get a video of your thoughts on if the Arkenstone could be the Silmaril of Maedhros? Though I personally think it unlikely I have read interesting theories
So after the destruction of the trees, it became impossible for any other elves to become high elves?
So relaxing videos
