Hi John As a recent subscriber to your channel, your videos capture, for me, the essence of fishing for pleasure. I am currently reading your most excellent book also and have literally just finished chapter 14 and found myself crying like a baby at memories your own experience reminded me of in my life. Keep at it, you’re a natural. 👍
Many thanks for the subscription, comment and, most of all, the kind words about the book. I love hearing it’s still being read and means something to folks. Hope you enjoy the other vids on the channel. Best, John
Lovely video Jon, I used to fish King's pond many years ago when there were no carp in it just lots of tench, crucians and silvers. The far bank was covered in wire netting holding the bankside growth together and needless to say that's where the better fish lurcked.
Hello mate here we go, great video, and a lovely place to fish, thank you for this, Im off at the weekend for some more action....all being well, have a nice weekend.
Most enjoyable video mate. Great weather as well. I know your sitting in the sunshine some where abroad so just to let you know it is lashing down here in the UK. Bream fishing tomorrow at the place i saw you last. Going to see if I can get a few going and hopefully a few bin lids. Knowing my luck I will get plagued by big carp. See you next week and hopefully we can get out and have a session.
Lovely. From start to finish, (that came all too quickly). Hoping me refreshed for once more having a tussle with a decent fish in the future. Fighting with sight loos at the moment, but treatment is just starting. Again I must thank you for the feeling of solace. Take care John. TTFN
Thank you 🙏 Really hope the sight treatment is effective and fishing the margins is a good bet for anyone who suffers with poor eyes of course. Best of luck with it 🤞
Marvellous John, great bit of fishing & lovely surroundings. The kind of place where Hobby chase Dragonflies, positive I heard Red Warbler early doors when you landed the Rudd. As we say in the Black Country, theer ay much better in life than sat on a bank catching fish. Soul food👍
@themagicoffishing Raised on the Severn & The Avon. My old man fished like an Osprey , therefore so did his 5 kids. Like you, I migrated to Surrey, enjoy my fishing & being amongst nature. Nearly finished your book, great read John🎣👍
Hi John, i commented on your barble video the otherday as i grew up in Ripley. I think my Dad responded also. My family moved to Aldershot back in 2014 and ive been managing my sons badshot lea football team since 2017... great to see you fishing the local venues. Ive been meaning to try and get a day ticket to these lakes.
Good vid m8. I must admit, i do things different. My way is one shot, aaa, ssg, 4-6 inch hooklink, even on the pole. It works as you either get a lift bite or-sail away. At my age, just fish for fun, maybe 6 times a year, so cant be bothered shotting up line, constantly plumbing up. Use shot as plummet. Works for me. Look forward to next vid, will be trying my black bottom float next time 😊
Hello Pat! You’ve only just clocked that one?! 😄 Do you know what, I thought I might have confused people with the title as it didn’t get all that many views! But a nice reminder of early summer 🎣😎

Sorry but there are no day tickets at these venues. Guest tickets are available I believe.
