I think Pit Girl is Mari. Mostly because of Misty's reaction to her death. She had a big smile as if she was pleased. Mostly because Mari is a constant bully of Misty and I think Mari is the one who was prank calling Misty in the beginning of the season saying ugly and hateful things to her.
I have a feeling Lottie is the "Antler Queen" , and Natalie is the Leader since they showed that in season 2. What I mean by Lottie being the Antler Queen is that the Antler Queen is a fanmade term that the writers liked, it was originally supposed to be called "The Oracle" I am just recalling so I don't know if this is a fact, but I remember reading something like that. Anyways we saw Lottie in Doomcoming create, and wear the Antlers, and in the adult timeline Lottie is still clinging to the Wilderness ways with Antlers out her cabin. I think that the Antler Queen outfit is just some sort of representative of the Wilderness its Lottie's outfit, and the Leader Natalie will wear something else. Or I can be completely wrong , but I personally just want Lottie to be the one wearing the Antler Queen outfit.
to me it looks like lottie is the one sitting to (our) left of the queen/oracle/whatever so i think that natalie is the leader, she’s been leading them the whole time tbh if you watch back in season 1 there’s lots of references including tai and shauna saying they wouldn’t have been alive or made it out if it wasn’t for her…so i think she will continue to lead them, but maybe lottie is the spiritual leader kind of the right hand man of natalie because she stepped aside trying to lead
I interpret all the hints to Lottie being the antler queen as a red herring, there's a great video called something close to "How Yellowjackets does foreshadowing right" that talks about how Nat being the antler queen was set up a lot, just more subtly. For instance in the pilot there are several times where the camera cuts to the Antler queen then to Nat or vise versa. There a lot more thats just an example. I recommend a watch!
@@brynniefresh9746 I remember reading somewhere they used body doubles for those scenes. I still like 90% agree with you but it's not for sure. One of the reasons I love this show.
I think that by the end of their time in the wilderness they will have gone so crazy that they won't be able to talk. Notice how they don't talk in the Pit Girl scenes. Lottie, of course, couldn't talk when she got back.
@aaronlegg911 i think yall are right but also i think they mainly just don't talk during the hunt. part of the ritual. it complicates things. it reminds them they are human in a time where they need to be animalistic. it makes things harder when they are discussing plus it could just be a sign of respect
Thanks for another fantastic video! A couple interesting theories going around are A) that someone gets left behind in the wilderness and B) the other survivor is Coach Ben.
How would coach Ben survive when he is the most malnourished. He didn't cannibalize any of the teens as far as we know. And burnt down the cabin how could he have survived with one leg and no help??
@@marcyc1695 I'm willing to bet that if anyone stays in the wilderness, it'll be Coach Ben. He is either killed, cannibalized or left behind on purpose by the girls.
Imo the scene where adult Charlotte is talking to her therapist about : the god of that place the power of that place : we did terrible things in it's name. So in essence pit girl is a random person they kidnapped or wondered where they were at. What pit girl is wearing backs this up
This is one of my favorite theories too, there are a couple mentions of the plane going far off track before the crash. If the wilderness can draw them in, could it do the same with hikers or search and rescue?
If there's another survivor what happened to that person in the future???? I'm really curios about that but I'd enjoy so much if one those side character (Mari/Akilah) survive as well and we only find out later in the series
it doesn’t really make sense considering they have gone over who lived specifically, so if someone else survived i think they are dead between the rescue and current timeline or if it’s like maybe Ben or something if he actually ended up never seeing them again and they thought he or whoever just died…like the girls have to assume that person is dead already and that’s why they didn’t mention them before
In the s2 episode 1 plane boarding rescue scene it shows 8 individuals. None of them is Travis. So that means that there are at a minimum 9 survivors. That 8 survived theory is incorrect. Mari and Melissa look like they are among the survivors in that scene. .
@@FeyFire I made a post on red, it on the YJ sub specifically on this topic. YT doesn't allow links but if you visit the site and do a search for "More than 8" the post should come up. There are pictures of all the survivors in that boarding scene and close ups on possible Mari and Melissa. edit: Actually just google "More than 8 Yellowjackets" and the post should come up in google search.
@@FeyFire My first reply got removed/hidden for whatever reason. Plenty of people have slowed down that scene, screen shot and seen two people that are not among the 7 survivors we have seen as adults. One of them looking a lot like Mari and the other could only be Melissa or a yet to be introduced JV girl.
@@thisone.or possibly some hikers or some shit also get lost in the wilderness and some of the rescued people aren’t even their friends and that’s why they’ve never mentioned them before? like people have thought maybe they end up killing other people who wandered by their hunting grounds but maybe some people become their allies?
There is so much content coming out now Post strike that I hope they get this third season out in time... Definitely before the end of the year.. Especially with the mess Paramount studios is currently in.
I know it's been a while since this was posted, but I finally watched it and wanted to share my thoughts. So, when it comes to a lot of occult type things in media, there is a certain amount of time that has passed since the last supernatural event took place. From the plane crash in 1996 until the start of the series in 2021, 25 years has passed. As we see in season two, Lottie believes that they all brought the god back with them or that it touched part of them and corrupted them, and she cites the various attitudes that they have adapted throughout the series (excluding Van since we haven't seen anything off about her except for her illness). During the course of the group's time in the wilderness, we see them slowly give into their 'wilder' selves. In a mirror of that, we're seeing it reoccur in the present: a reclaiming of their wild selves that have been 'repressed'. This is further shown in the last episode of season two when everyone but Shauna engages in the thrill of the ritual sacrifice and in setting it up. Now, in regards to the 'rewards' that everyone gets from the sacrifice that was displayed throughout the flashbacks, we see a similar trend begin in the future. Because of Travis's death in S1, we see Shauna meet someone exciting and new, Misty reconnects with Natalie and later gets introduced to Walter who she feels truly understands her, Taissa wins the election, Natalie gets closure and peace after Travis's death, Lottie gets to (briefly) help her friends seek their own inner peace, and Van gets to reconnect with the group after (assumedly) having little to no contact with anyone but her customers since we don't see her inform anyone of her departure. As for Natalie's death in S2, so far, Shauna is no longer a suspect of Adam's murder and she gets closer to her family, Misty will likely grow closer to Walter after he proved that he didn't care about her killing people and to cope with accidentally killing Natalie, and (likely) Lottie will start to grow closer to the Wilderness again. We'll see what Van and Taissa get as a reward, but it will likely do with Van's illness and Taissa's family (such as her wife's recovery). Because of the Pit Girl's death and the following rescue, I believe that her death was proof of everyone being fully immersed in the Wilderness, so the god didn't need their worship or decline anymore. It got what it needed. Now, after 25 years, it needs to 'feed' again and start the cycle of sacrifice and reward all over again. This was more of a rant than anything structured, but I can't wait to see what season three brings us and how the Wilderness will reward everyone and who will be sacrificed next. Thank you so much for all of your theory and essay videos on Yellowjackets. I enjoy them a lot, and I'll stay tuned for your thoughts on S3. :)
If they get rescued very soon after sacrificing pit girl that would be a big tie in with lord of the flies, how they killed when help was arriving and realised just how avoidable it was
