One more detail I discovered a few months ago, yk how Ada Jane and Mabel’s basis were given roofs on the talylyn? This also happened on the skarloey as well too in 2012😊

      It’s not an error, it’s a fact. 😊

I think the reason why the Skarloey Railway engines are different colors in the TV Series is because Britt didn’t want to have the engines all in the same color, as it would be hard to tell them apart, and the railway would be boring if all the engines (except Duke and Rusty) were red, so knowing this, Britt had them painted in different colors. This would probably explain Duncan wanting to be painted yellow; he was getting tired of the red, wanting more color to the railway.

Impressive. By no doubt impressive. But there are some gaps of this timeline you left.
When the railway first started constructed, it was actually called the "Crovan's Gate Railway".
In 1883, a Falcon Hughes 0-4-2 saddle tank named Proteus was built and bought to the Crovan's Gate Railway as their first #3. He was famous for his magic lamp.
In 1897, the Island of Sodor was flooded. The slate quarry had to be evacuated, so Skarloey had to rescue some workmen. As a reward for his bravery, when Skarloey returned from the works after Rheneas was given a cab, he was incredibly humbled to find the railway was officially renamed the "Skarloey Railway", as name which lasts to this day.
Sadly in 1899, on his way home from the slate mines, according to legend, Proteus derailed on the Old Iron Bridge and plunged into the swamp below, and was never found again.
Years later in 1906, a Hunslet Warhorse 2-6-2 tank named Freddie was bought to the railway to replace Proteus as their new #3 as their heavy goods engine.
During World War II, when the Skarloey Railway was at its decline, Freddie was sold off to keep finances up, leaving Rheneas and Skarloey, along with some Ministry of Defense engines, to handle their workload.
In 1969, since Sir Handel and Peter Sam missed their old friend Duke dearly. They were sent to the works to be repainted in their former respective colors (Sir Handel was blue; Peter Sam was green) with added red lining, in memory of their old line. That was before Duke was found and bought to the Skarloey Railway.
The event with Skarloey and the avalanche in the ravine took place in 1973.
In 1977, when the North Western Railway purchased four Class 87 electric locomotives to do some goods work. Sir Charles Topham Hatt agreed with the Skarloey Railway directors that both railways would work handling ballast at Blue Mountain Quarry. So he began alternating the four electric engines to work with Rusty, who the quarry kept on hiring, leaving the other engines to alternate with his maintenance work. All of that changed when the quarry bought another engine to replace Rusty to give him more time with his maintenance work, which was Luke, a Kerr Stuart Wren Class 0-4-0 saddle tank from Ireland. Around this time, another narrow gauge engine from Cuba, named Victor, was bought by the Sodor Steamworks at Crovan's Gate. But then they arrived at Brendam Docks, Victor was accidentally knocked off the ship, much to Luke's dismay. He feared that he would get in trouble with the Thin Controller if he ever did show up on the railway. So when he arrived at the Blue Mountain Quarry he hid himself in a tunnel. In the end, the quarry ended up buying from Duke, Peter Sam and Sir Handel's old friends from the Mid Sodor Railway, named Gerry, a Barclay 0-6-0 tank engine.
The event of Duncan getting spooked by Rusty's "ghost train" happened in October 1982.
In 1984, after Sir Handel returned from Wales, he still felt overworked, and was looking forward to a long rest after so much time helping on the Talyllyn Railway. He felt a lose bolt at the top of his cab, and rocked and rolled so much that it came lose, and he ended up blowing his whistle more than ever. (Christopher Awdry)
A few nights later, when his bolt was secured again, Sir Handel and Skarloey encountered a small miniature red engine named Mike, from the Arlesdale Railway, who had helped to find Duke back in 1969. During Mike's stay on the Skarloey Railway, Duke recalled his days on the Mid Sodor Railway. (Ryan & Fox)
In 1990, some workmen on the other side of the side of Sodor discovered one of Duke's long-lost brothers, named Bertram, a true fan of William Shakespeare, who had worked in the old mine of the Mid Sodor Railway he called his own, until World War I, when he almost sacrificed himself at risk, leaving his mine abandoned. It took a whole 11 months for Bertram to be repaired and restored to working order on the Skarloey Railway by 1991.
In 1991, during the summer season, a week before Duncan's event with the Boy Scouts, a transfer yard had been built, consisting of two platforms, the higher platform for standard gauge trains on the North Western Railway, and the lower platform for the Skarloey Railway engines, which a steam-powered crane in between. (TTTE Series 9)
After the transfer yard was completed, a double-fairlie locomotive named Little Giant, who had just been built, was brought to help out with the extra work. Little, one of the ends of the engine, was rather nervous, while the other end, Giant, was very confident and stuck-up. As a result, Giant's confidence got the better of him when he and Little forgot to restock on coal and water, before they were tasked to pull a long train of ballast trucks from Blue Mountain Quarry, and on their return trip they ended up stopping at Tea Room Station, which had been built and opened during the railway's expansion to the Blue Mountain Quarry. Rusty came to take the train on, and when the Thin Controller had found out, he confined Little Giant to the shed until they could be trusted. (Keifer Adams)
After a week of confinement in the sheds, Little Giant was given another a chance to redeem themselves. And they are now both sensible despite their respective personalities as the railway's No.11.
In 1994, another double-ended fairlie locomotive named Mighty Mac, who had just been built, was next to arrive on the railway as their No.12.
Then in 1995, Freddie returned to the Skarloey Railway, where he was reunited with Skarloey and Rheneas as the railway's #13. About a week later, a young boy from America came to visit the railway and showed the engines one of his new Thomas videos, Rusty to the Rescue & Other Thomas Stories. When Rusty saw the front cover of the tape, he saw that his television counterpart was painted orange. So he asked the Thin Controller if he could be repainted to look like his counterpart.
In 1998, after Duncan crashed into a performance stage, the engines and the Thin Controller paid for the damage by performing their roles for William Shakespeare's "Hamlet". Bertram played as the director, while Rusty and Mr. Hugh served as their technical crew. (EnterprisingEngine93)
By 2009, it had been 32 years since Luke had arrived on Sodor, and Luke still hadn't told anyone about his past with Victor. After Sean, one of the Peel Godred electrics, had an accident with the landslide at Blue Mountain, he was sent to the works and Thomas was assigned to cover for him. At the quarry, Thomas discovered Luke at the Blue Mountain Quarry, and after rescuing Thomas from falling off a cliff, Luke was now more confident, reunited with Victor, and now permanently works with Gerry at the quarry. That was when Duncan was repainted yellow, in memory of George Carlin.
All this happened before Atlas (#14), Adeline (#15) and Harris (#16) became part of the Skarloey Railway.

Corporal Harris' design appears to be based on an armoured Simplex motor rail, a ww1 trench locomotive. The problem is those aren't battery powered, they were petrol engined.

So. This implies Rheneas Is Actually The Oldest Engine On Soder

    • @elsbridgestudios1885

Officially that honour belongs to Skarloey, being built back in 1865. Unofficially the oldest engine on Sodor is Neil, being built back in the late 1850's but only if in your head-cannon he still lives on Sodor.

Not exactly. The great depression is usually looked at from the point of view of either the U.S.A. or Germany as they were the countries worst affected. Whilst it is less well known, most other countries in the developed world including the U.K. suffered during the great depression, just not to the same extent as America or Germany.
