I absolutely adore how there are not just Latino little girls dancing and dressing like Selena in this video but also white girls as well. As a white girl with no Latino blood in her whatsoever, I often got questioned and even made fun of, even criticized for loving Selena so much. I have two half siblings that are both Hispanic and they don't even know half of her songs let alone the dances or what the songs mean in English a lot of what I wear is inspired by her too and not just her clothing on stage but in her personal life as well. I remember as a little girl dressing up as her for Halloween and I went to a family of Mexicans and when they realized who I was they were tickled pink, I even showed them I knew the washing machine and I sang "Bibi Bibi Bom Bom" for them. They were so impressed with my dancing and Spanish that they gave me extra candy. When I asked them if they were sure they wanted to give me all that candy they only said, "Anything for Selena." Some people would call my love for Selena Obsession but it's not what Yolanda did was obsession. I'm just merely inspired. Not only by her story and how she was on stage but I am inspired to be how she was as a person. If we had a lot more Role Models like her today this world would be a much better place. Every time I am criticized I remind people, "Was Selena not called a genuine artist of the people?, It didn't say Mexican specifically. And wasn't one of Selena's backup dancers and beloved friends a black man?" Mexican, black, white, Asian, hack even an alien can appreciate Selena's music and see what a wonderful person she was and admire her for it. Whoever casts these children for this video thank you for showing that.
