    This is cool. 🚐 You’re talking about the kinds of things others barely touch on.

    Instead of a complicated spray gun for contact cement check out the Critter Spray Product Siphon Gun. It's super simple but works good for a DIYer on smaller projects. I've used it on upholstery like your headliner and it works great. For laminates I've found that a large putty knife 5-6" works good at keeping the cement thin but evenly distributed.

    For sure I like doing airbrush so I got a sprayer and I have calipers. I bought all my tools at harbour freight.
    I want to watch your videos on how you use the sprayer for your materials.

    Thanks for posting this and your other upholstery videos. I’m still building the hard metal parts of my van, but your videos have given me a bit of a roadmap to when I get to the soft parts…
    Thanks again.
    Quick question, what PSI did you through to the gun? Any filters?

      @@scottadamson6116 by the way, I also sent you a message on Facebook Messenger. I don't think you check it often so I'll give you a heads up here. I came across a couple of broken images in the guide. Seeya

    Do you have a video on making your headliner?

    Good video as usual. FYI that's a digital caliper, not a vernier caliper. Calipers (generic) can have a vernier scale ($), dial scale ($$-$$$) or digital scale ($-$$$). A vernier scale looks like two rules edge to edge.
    According to Wikipedia : "A vernier scale is a visual aid to take an accurate measurement reading between two graduation markings on a linear scale by using mechanical interpolation; thereby increasing resolution and reducing measurement uncertainty by using vernier acuity to reduce human estimation error."
    As a machinist it always bugs me when people get this wrong.

      I've had my vernier caliper (Mitutoyo) since '78, semi-tired field press tech. Still gets lots of use.

      @@edwardthomas7022 buy good quality and it lasts a life time, absolutely nothing wrong with a Vernier scale if you know how to use it. My micrometers have a Vernier scale, but my Mittutoyo calipers are dial scale. Most people are only familiar with the cheap plastic vernier calipers that they use in schools (my wife is a science teacher)

      @@paulandrews7573 I actually prefer the Vernier. I have a digital angle gauge that eats batteries ...

    • @paulandrews7573
      @paulandrews7573 3 роки тому

      @@edwardthomas7022 That is an issue with digital calipers (I always keep two spares in the case), but it's nice to be able to swith between mm and inch, and to be able to zero out on a measurement and do tolerance checks. But if you know how to read vernier scales they're fine, seems like a lot of people forget how to read them though.

      Hey Dominic! Sorry I missed this comment! So I bought mine from jackson.ca but they don't really sell to the general public. This place seems to sell to the public: www.nationalupholsterysupply.com/dmx001.html The fabric I use is Duramax Tweed and the color is 'Steele'
